So, I have the red Hanna 8103 (not exact #, but I can't get it right now.

When you all test, how long does it take for it to stabilize?
I leave it in cm for 30 sec. and it is still not fully stopped on one #, but not moving #'s fast either.
I figure if I always just do 30 sec. than I will be able to compare my ph, but does it do that for anyone else. I have calibrated recently. DH says it does the same for him

Other quest. Does this sound normal?
I got the tester when I was 7 months pg. with my 3rd girl. I tested my cm two different times just to see what I was "normally" before doing anything. I know that being pg. could make it different.

Both times I was in the 4 range.
I had my daughter in March and then this past week, 6 weeks post partem, I tested again and I was 6.7 and 7. Seems so high to me esp. because I wouldn't be ovulating. Anyway, maybe it's higher when you're breastfeeding?
Interestingly, I conceived my 3 girls while nursing, but my one and only son was first, so not when nursing.

anyone ever test their cm while pregnant and/or breastfeeding? Does any of this make sense?
*After today's 7, I did put in the 4 solution just to make sure it was working and it went right to 4.02

Thank you all for your help/experience

I never used the hanna so I'm hoping a hanna expert chimes in.

Pregnancy can make your pH very different than what it is otherwise (virtually always higher, which is partly why pg women are plagued with YI), as may breastfeeding. Some women get a constant flow of CM (really, it's most likely just "discharge" and not fertile CM) when breastfeeding (higher pH) and others are bone dry (lower pH). When I conceived once while BF, I was dry and had pH of 4.5 that never varied - still had a boy! My friend had a lot of CM all the time while breastfeeding and higher pH - still had a girl!!

I would not put any stock into what your pH is right now. Your body does weird stuff postpartum and it's normal to have discharge and even bleeding for 8-10 weeks after having a baby.

Thanks AS, good point on the BFing making things weird. I am finding it weird that I was 4.5 pregnant and now 6.7 BFing.
I conceived all 3 girls BFing when they were1 or younger and my youngest DD will only be 6 months when we start TTC. Hopefully, I can change things enough to get another DS.

Anyone else have experience with the tester? How long do you leave it in CM and does it keep changing numbers?
