I am January 9! Wow! I can't believe I am having a January baby. January is like the most depressing month for me. Hopefully the whole unconditional love that hits you when you have a baby will make it seem like July:).

oh honey why? why is jan such a bad month for you..i think it is perfect time for anyone to have a baby..1. your baby will be going to school at a perfect age they will neither be too young neither too old in their class. 2. having a baby in january will be straight after indulging during x mas and then being able to begin a great regime to get your body back into shape before all the holdiday seasons 3. by the easter you and your baby maybe up to having your ever first holiday so you wouldn't have wasted that being Pg or waiting for labour or dealing with all the post labour stresses of a new baby and missing out. 4. you and your baby will be well on the way to be totally settled and ready for an even bigger holiday in the summer holdidays..by then they begn to wean so feeding and all will be easier they may also sit up by then or even crawl (like my son did) so holidaying on the beach would be fab they will love plauing in the sand and all and you can tan yourself without having to constant hold them and they will have a proper routine eat and play in the day and sleep at night...you can enjoy your new fit body in summer clothes you can take baby out and about and enjoy life with all your family...5. you can spent the horrible rainy, cold maybe even snowy early days of jan, feb and march cosying at home with your baby allowing you to bond and this way not waste any good weather....its a perfect excuse not to have to worry how you look and what to wear....cause everyone else is mostly home.....so you don't miss out....on anything really
so its great jan is perfect month for me in so so many ways as you can see....lol
cheer up hun.....it will be great.......

Hi ladies,
I can join in too. I'm due 3rd Jan, but crossing my fingers this baby arrives in Dec, I want a 2012 baby. I think it's funny what you wrote toomanyboys about the positives being born in Jan. I'm in Australia so everything is opposite. Will be middle of hot summer, so no cosying up inside with bubby, and no bikini. We live on the beach too so impossible to take new born to the beach but my other two will want to go, this will be tough. And because our school year runs from Jan - Dec (which no offence but seems so logical compared to your way, lol) baby will be a young one. So all the positive points you made are all negative in the southern hemisphere, lol.
Hope everyone is feeling well. I really don't feel great at all, I have a lot of cramping and excruciating painful stabbing pain on my right side on and off. Also I have a small heart condition and have been getting a lot of heart pain as if I'm having a mini heart attack, mainly at night with palpitations and trouble breathing. I was a gym junkie prior to Le diet so last week I eagerly jumped back into the gym and doing classes, weights etc. so this may be part of the problem, my body spent 4 months idle and now it's feeling the pain of working out. So lots of aches and pains. But no other real symptoms which im kind of concerned about too. Im hoping morning sickness hits me this week just to make me feel better. Never thought id say that! I half expect to see blood whenever I go to the toilet but none yet. Have my first gp app on Tue so will be good to talk to my dr n hopefully get some reassurance.
Glad that there's a thread for us! X

Hi Lala, i remember you getting your bfp and we are days apart our due dates too, sorry about feeling bad, i had the same palpitations when ttc as i think it was due to taking baby aspirin every day,i weaned off so it stopped ,and i do get it when im sleeping a bit now too especially when i get up fast in the night! Its worse if you sleep on the left side i find too,i guess it is your heart working harder to pump blood for the baby i heard my last pregnancy my doctor actually prescribed me baby aspirin because of i needed it to help the blood flow to the uterus, but in your case its good you are getting a check up early if you have heart problems and you are experiencing pain ,thats not good,do you normally have to go to a heart specialist to see if you can deliver naturally? We do here,,or do you have already c section planned because of it?I hope you get some reasurrance on tues then:) Im going tomorrow for my first scan so im excited and relieved to finally get that and hopefully relax after:)

Oh and dont worry even if your due date falls in 2013 because it is the lucky year of the dragon until feb 2013 according to chinese calendar to be born under that sign,so very lucky ,if you were worried about 2013 being unlucky?Actually if you believe all that 2012 is a leap year and considered unlucky,so were set being January:)

I guess I'm just silly for wanting a December baby! IF I could O in a couple weeks and conceive, I would get my December baby because I always go 3 weeks early, or right on 37 weeks! I hope that's what happens!!!!
I still have a light pink line on my $1 test.. and a coming in pink line on my OPK but it's prob just picking up HPT GRR!

Oh GOOD! If one of my friends has a good feeling it will be soon, then perhaps it will be! I've now been taking Vitex and Raspberry leaves for over a week straight! And I've been getting those hormone headaches!

But anyway yes! At almost 37 weeks my blood pressure SKY ROCKETS So badly that they want to induce me the next day.. So they set it up and I go into natural labor that night. I was always terrified of Pitosin and I had to have some during DS#2 labor anyway.. and now I know why I always thought it was a "devil drug!" hahaha

Makes me feel better to know that others are getting palpitations too. I mostly get it at night time, but I find that if I half sit up with pillows propped behind me to sleep it tends to get much better. Always worse when I'm lying down. I have a large pfo which is a hole in my heart that shouldve closed as a baby. They discovered it when I was pg with ds2, but since the Le diet n pg ive had lots of chest pain etc so will see what doc says. I delivered ds2 naturally and theres no concern as far as I know to deliver this one naturally too. But I am concerned with my symptoms, which makes me anxious and hence more palpitations, etc (vicious cycle!) I just need some peace of mind, kwim?
Good luck with your first scan tomorrow, how exciting! Always makes you feel better to see them! I can't wait to have mine, but probably still 6-7 weeks away :( Let us know how it goes! X

I agree with you gals who are in the northern hemisphere, winter babies are nice for being snuggly and staying inside with. We get so much snow, so I'm looking forward to cuddling up with my babe by the fireplace and watching the snow fall :)

Oh nice finally some more January babies :flowerz: yipee:) I went for my ultrasound today im dated at 7 weeks 5 days today and heard the heaRT beat :awe:and i have my due date to Jan 2 now..Ive been taking a bit of time off the computer lately as ive felt awful the last few weeks,im fine in the morning ,but after 2 its just painful, cant wait until the day is over!!My doctor gives me primperan here but it really does nothing!!Im using the sea bands too but i dont know how much they help?Any new tips for helping morning sickness,or afternoon sickness i should say?

skrimpy
May 21st, 2012, 01:10 PM
Sea bands are helping me, but I'm not quite to what's usually the worst for me, around 6-10 weeks. I do think they help b/c I took them off in the sun Sat afternoon (didn't want a tan line!!!!) and was feeling pretty ill all afternoon - wore them Sun and didn't feel poorly at all.

I'm also taking B-6 3x a day (25mg morning, noon, bedtime) and I am making sure I eat some complex protein and a little carbs around every 2 hours. So far it is all working pretty well.

sweetsister
May 22nd, 2012, 02:40 AM
Yeah im totally addicted to my sea bands i fell asleep wearing them 2 nights now, hihihi. But i do beleive they help me too,and i also drink coke if it gets really bad,i know i hear its a no no,but i drank fizzy drinks through all of my pregnancies and not a problem...
I was wondering if anyone has told family yet they are pregnant?I told my mom and she said why did you want to have another?I was kinda expecting it as with my second she kinda said the same,as in why another???I have wanted children all my life and feel for me,, it is THE most important thing in this world,my children are my life!I guess my mom was really young and didnt feel that way?!Just hard to hear that when you expect to hear ,oh wonderful news Congrats, especially as this will be our last baby, and im 38!Then we told my DH Parents and his Dad was smiling happy from ear to ear(he's really hoping for a girl)And always wanted 3 but stopped at 2 boys. But his Mom was in shock and thought we were joking? She said congrats but she didnt look to pleased:(
Well it is a let down ,but i am over the moon ,myself, and i guess they are just worried about us,in the end....i dont know, any one else shared the news yet?

Ribbons
May 22nd, 2012, 09:06 AM
sweetsister, I told my mom and she was worried (b/c of the possible complications) but is still cautiously excited... my sister was ecstatic, she so desperately wants one of us to have a girl, b/c all we've been able to produce is boys and she's done! Haven't told anyone else yet... we want to make triple-sure the bean is in the right place before we get anyone else's hopes up. This one was expected b/c we've been trying for awhile and everyone knows it - but the next one (if I can talk DH into it LOL) will be a BIG surprise and I won't be looking forward to telling everyone about that...

Had my first appointment today. They gave me a due date of Jan 4th =) my son (who isnt listed below as his father asked me to not talk about him online as he lives with him) his 10th birthday is Jan 2nd. lol. First ultrasound is set for the 22nd of June. =)

We haven't told anyone yet. I like to wait until around 12 weeks just because I feel most comfortable once the first trimester has passed. But I also don't want to hear ppl's reactions. I'm really happy to be pregnant and don't want to hear from anybody who may not be happy about it!

We will probably tell our parents around 12 weeks, but I told DH I'm just going to post pictures of the bigger fan we'e planning to get on Facebook in a couple of months and let ppl figure it out on their own, hah!

Of course I will call my midwife too, probably after we move next month.

It's tough when not everyone is happy. I also have always wanted children and my family is my world. I'm so happy about another baby but people just don't see things the same way.

sweetsister
May 24th, 2012, 02:52 AM
Yeah me too, usually i wait until i pass the first trimester, but this time i didnt want to hide it that long as its our last, and i visit our inlaws at least 2 times a week for luch or dinner and they give me grief for not having wine or beer with meals(we normally have with our meals where i live),And now im feeling morning sickness i havent visited ,and i dont want them to feel i dont want to see them, they are the most lovely people i know so i felt i needed to share with them, and i THOUGHT it would bring happiness as its been tough around here as of late,,,but actually my Dh told me my mother inlaw is really excited now ,i guess she just needed some time to get over the initial shock of it:)

I've always wondered about that... b/c according to my LMP I would be due on 1/21... but we are measuring exactly the same now, so shouldn't we have the same due dates? I think it's silly the way that they do it, but I guess they have to b/c a lot of people have no clue about when they o, yada yada :)

I wonder if my midwife will change my due date to the U/S scan! We'll see, I meet her on Tues.

Ribbons - the calculation acc to LMP is count nine months from date of LMP and add 5 days right? This is also acc to a reg 28 day cycle which I don't have. I have shorter cycles so I have no clue ... Lol! Either way we are due date buddies. Horray!

I get a little queasy toward the afternoon too, but not too bad. What is KILLING me is the fatigue - omg I am CONSTANTLY tired!

Sounding very similar to me jjc3434. Normally I don't lose hair till after having baby but I am losing a crazy amount. No heartburn either here which I suffer with from before bfp for last 6 pregnancies.

I think it's lovely that you can't find out till 20 weeks. I say I want to stay team yellow but I just know curiosity will get the better of me.

Definitely eating enough... probably eating too much

I have cut way back on my caffeine (down to 1/2 cup a day in the morning), but it's been a couple of weeks on that one, so I don't think it's caffeine withdrawal. I see my midwife today... I'll ask her about it.

My symptoms fluctuate too. I haven't had really "hit-the-wall" morning sickness yet, but I'm just 6 weeks today so I think I'm just now starting that fun adventure. Tired ALL.The.Time but I've found that coconut oil helps a LOT with that! I've made these really yummy chocolate coconut oil candies and eat a couple of them in the morning, it keeps me going until at least early afternoon. LOVE them. After those wear off, well... I am a zombie. Some days I am an inconsolable, irritable B@*#!, and other days I am super-happy... so mood swings are definitely all over the map! My poor DH ;) Oh, and I am having a really hard time nursing, my BBs are SOOOO sore.

How is everyone else?

I did Accupuncture with ds2 and it was way better! I basically think it takes the edge off! I have my first appt next week. I would have done tomorrow if I could get in... And I may move it up if someone can watch my boys in the day! I want to get ahead of it! I actually had needles in my wrist for the first bit... Gross but I think it worked!
We have diclectin here and I took the most you could take with ds1 and maybe 1/2 to 3/4 with ds2.
I hope so about the girl thing but I don't think I'll be that lucky!!

Oh gad! M/S hit this morning!! It's been creeping in and I've being praying hard to let me escape just one pregnancy!! But nope! I got some strong antacids a couple weeks ago for what I think is an ulcer... But I left 3 knowing it may help with m/s! Holy shite! It did! I still am queezy but can function at this rate! Now I just have to convince my dr to prescribe me some while pregnant!! I am supposed to go away this weekend with a friend and if they don't let me take anything I won't be able to go! Not with how I started this morning!!
At least my friend won't kill me for not being able to drink this weekend as she just found out she's pregnant too! Now her first and my 2nd and these 2 will all be the same age if everything turns out well:) so if I get these meds I'll be a very grateful girl! Anyone try Zantac?

Coocoo- hope you feel better, but I gotta tell you..I have ALL DAY nausea with this pregnancy.
Nothing is helping me except eating like every 3 hours....ugh at this rate I am gonna be huge very fast!
I did take the low dose of Zantac with my first preg- but not for morning sickness ...more for heartburn.

Either I pushed out of my mind how bad it is or it's worse this time! It's all day and all night so far for me! I beggedy dr for something more than diclectin as I don't think it does all that much for me. I got Zofran so I am hoping for the days when I can't take it anymore that might do something:(
I took Zantac today before seeing the dr and it helped but only for a couple hours but you can only take 2 a day so that's no good! I was almost in tears as he tried to remind me of the natural stuff to do! Thanks guy who has never ever felt this way! I took it for 2 pregnancies but I know there is better stuff out there and with 2 boys to care for I need more help than ginger and eating small meals!! It's like having food poisoning everyday. That's how bad it is for me unmedicated!! Sorry, pity party vent over;)

hehe, the joys of MS! I too have been getting it each day, it starts early afternoon and gets worse as the day goes on. This pregnancy i have actually vomited which i didnt for any of the others. I find i need to constantly snack and that does help, i get so hungry at certain points and will have a huge feed then pay for it for a couple of hours after.
my boobs are also killing me and have gone from a 12 d to a 12 E! went and got measured up the other day. My boobs have never really grown much until the last trimester, they have always just gradually got bigger throughout the pregnancy never jumped a whole cup sixe in the the start tho! Also have a sore back. so those are my symptoms as of this week. I am also looking pregnant, it took ages with my 1st to show, with DS2 there was no hiding it from about 9-10 weeks and this time im already showing as well but gaining it around my hips as well, my previous pregnancies it was just in the belly. Have noticed my jeans are very very tight now either im gonna show right away or its from all the food i have been eating! lol, I am taking a photo a week for comparison!

Ive never eaten this much in my other pregnancies either im sure this will be boy number 3,hearing that having a girl makes you actually vomit i havent yet ,but i really have mentally tried not to ,as i hate too!!Ive been pretty close though and im also taking meds this time,But i just get the feeling i cant be that lucky to get a girl:(

I hear ya Sweetsister! I dont think i will ever be lucky enough to have a little girl of my own. But i am very excited about this wee bubba bean even if it is a boy!
We made the decision to tell the kids at the weekend. DS1 was ok, he was excited to tell his dad that he is gonna have another baby but i had to burst his bubble and explain that his daddy is not going to be the dad this time and that my partner his, he then said well it wont be his sibling coz it wont have the same parents, took a bit of explaining (as best as i could to a 6 year old) but he is happy, DS2 was super excited and has said its a little brother named Freggo and my step son didnt really understand at all what we meant! problem is they have started telling people, DS1 had it for news at school and DS2 has told his preschool that freggo is in mummys belly. So before anyone got to take the limelight away from me i announced it to my family and friends on facebook. I have a very private facebook so only close friends and family can see, it was earlier than what i wanted to do it but im pleased it came from me and not someone else posting it on my wall. I wasnted to be different of how i announced it, i was going to put, me and DP are xpanding our home by 2 feet (DP is a builder) Also loved.... is excited that her easter egg got fertilized! but in the end i just put..........has an extra heartbeat :)
there are so many ways to announce it its crazy, some really funny ones out there!

Kiesse i think i had the worst of it fingers crossed i seem to be spiralling slowly these last 4 days to getting a bittty bit better each day:) Im trying not to lie down, which is what i would normally do when it gets bad, but for some reason this time it makes me worse? So if i stay upright all day im o.k these days.
Funny story about your boys too:) we also told ours and my eldest is 4 hes also spilling the beans,we went to our neighbors and supposedly he told them when he went in to get some cookies within 5 mins they came out sayinjg so congrats i hear mommy has a baby as big as an olive growing in her belly!!And these people are just casual friends so they would have been the last people we told!!And at school im sure hes telling everyone too.I didnt even think he understood,or heard me when i told him,he was like o.k Mama can we have a girl im going to ask God? Sigh i hope he isnt disapointed if it is a boy? With my Ds2 he wanted a boy and if i said maybe it will be a girl he got seriously upset,so lucky for him he was right that time:)
Hopefully your morning sickness will be getting better:)

Lol, kids are so funny and SO unpredictable!
I am seriously over my morning sickness! it just WONT go away, started at 10.30 this morning, had a meeting and had to do a 15 minute presentation, was sooo hard, especially since they dont know i am pregnant! But i got through it, i needed something to eat so got a small roll for lunch but that feels like its made it worse! only a certain brand of orange juice or a coffee seems to make me feel better and am constantly chewing on juicy fruit gum!

Most of my m/s is gone, which makes me a little nervous. I don't feel nauseous at all, but I'm still feeling "iffy" on some foods - can't stand the thought of fried eggs, which I used to eat EVERY morning!) and I crave bland stuff like bread, tortillas, comfort food like mashed potatoes etc. It's not helping my weight LOL - I already look 4 months pregnant!

However, nursing my toddler makes me want to climb the wall - my nipples are sooooo sensitive!

hehe the joys of what we have to go through in pregnancy!
I am still very nauseous from mid morning until bedtime, i have vomited a few times, could easily vomit everyday but try and hold it down. My boobs! my poor poor boobs feeli like they have been used as a punching bag they are so sore! when i take my bra off its like pain central! I never had sore boobs with the boys until my milk came in after they were born, they were tender but not sore sore! I am off food from about 3pm most days, cant bear the thought of stomaching dinner so end up having some rice crackers to take the hunger pangs away.
Hvae got a little belly on me now (i couldnt hide my pregnancy from 9 weeks with ds) so people have been giving me funny looks, still trying to hide it though. Am gaining weight in different areas this time around. Also a different dad this time so all the differences im having with this pregnancy could be down to that. Going for a scan on friday, so quite excited! have been doing every single old wives tale gender predictor (thats free) that i can find! i do not want to know at my 20 week scan but i love to guess! I want a surprise this time around but there is no harm in predicting so if you have any great oldwives tales let me know! I do not understand Jonas i wanted to test that thory on my boys to see if it was correct and then try for this little bean but no idea on how the method works so if any one knows.......TELL ME! Am going to start taking photos tonight of belly and also going to compare to my DS2 belly photos which i started taking at 6 weeks. man i just wish the next few months will hurry up!
My partner and i were talking last night about baby and our thoughts, some days i feel its a girl others i feel its a boy he is the same. he also started the name game subject and what kind of names we liked for each, i have my fav boy name that i have had since i was little but my ex wouldnt let me name the boys it but my new partner really likes it so could be a goer! and there are a couple of girls names we like, but i change my mind every few days so its hard to decide officially until bubby arrives!
i need an obsession! i was obsessed to figure out diet etc, then it was obsession over ovulation tests and peeing on a stick every 5 mins then it was pregancy tests obession now its old wives tales but my latest is at night trying to find bubs heartbeat! i know its early but i have one of those dopplers i got with DS1, i got it when i was 15 weeks just for fun, but with ds2 i found his heartbeat at 9 weeks so been trying to find this one too even my partner sits in and listens! so hopefully in the next few days we will find it, very exciting!

Nope... I am doing a homebirth and have a midwife (no OB) so I have to get my scans separately, and long story short, it is a big pain to get one. I *could* get one at 12 weeks but it would require a lot of jumping through hoops. So, waiting to get one at 20 weeks when I know for sure that I can find out the gender. Might do 18 instead, we'll see! (Probably, I don't think I'll be able to wait!)

Got a few photos so will upload some when i get home and hopefully someone can do ramzi guess. It was an abdomen ultrasound so in photos baby looks like it on right but its my left if that makes sense? Can see where placenta is etc. Also found a huge Cyst on my right ovary which they gonna keep an eye on. Otherwise everything is looking all good

Im still here!! Morning sickness is easing I think, yesterday was a good day, started feeling queasy about 4pm and lasted till i went to bed but had NO vomiting which was a bonus! Had my first midwife appt last sat, was just an intro and all the freebies, start weight etc etc, im quite lucky as i have got the same midwife that i have had for my previous babies! DP blew me away with the questions he asked etc as my ex never came to my appts and wasnt really involved in anyway even when i was in labour, he slept while my mum and cousin looked after me and only wanted to be woken when i was having the baby, but my parter wants to be involved as much as possible, he asked about him being able to deliver the baby when it was coming out etc, really blew me away, also very strange as I have always done it on my own and my way so its going to be hard for me also to let someone else help out!!!! could be a bonus tho! My ds2 who is 4 has been telliong people that mummy has a baby in her tummy before i even found out i was pregnant, he is adamant its a girl but i am trying to prepare him so he is not dissapointed if it comes out a boy. he mentioned something the other night when i was putting him to bed something about his abby sister and I said but what if its a little brother and he said its not its a baby sister i then said but what if it comes out and its a boy his reply was it wont it will come out and it will be a girl, there is no negotiation with him, he is adamant. I would love a girl and even tho i swayed girl it really doesnt bother me if its a boy or a girl (maybe as i know this wont be our last) so i know i wont have GD but am thinking that if it is a boy maybe he might take it the hardest, or maybe he knows something I dont?? he knew i was pregnant before I did........ He talks to the baby every day and gives my belly a kiss every night so he is already attached, the other children including the oldest is not really interested but my DS2 wants to be involved as much as he can and i guess i just have to encourage him. your thoughts???

Also has anyone had any "feelings" of what they are having? I go for my 12 week scan in 2 weeks, i want to go but dont, i want to so i can see baby but dont as i do not want any gender clues given away for me, i really want a surprise in the delivery room and am worried that if i see the nub it will kind of give it away. what are your thoughts on this? i love obsessing over everyone elses nub just do not want to see my little beans! Its funny coz i would love it know in ways if it was a girl so i could keep it a secret as i know how much DP wants a girl, he has 2 boys of his own and has made it no secret that he wished both times that they were girls, he was stoked that they were boys but has always wanted a dadddys girl, so it would be so awesome knowing that he was going to get his dream come true if that makes sense? the only reason i really swayed was for him, it wasnt for me, he did not participate in any aspects of the sway he does not believe in it so didnt really know i was doing it, but for him i really hope it pays off! otherwise it will be awesome to have another mummys boy!!!!

kiesse first of all forgive me as this keyboard is broken, so i can't do capitals or symbols. but anyway, lol... i believe that the little ones have intuition like no other.. when ds number 1 was 10 months old i conceived his brother and he was tapping my stomach and smiling a week before i knew i was pregnant. i got goosebumps, and i knew that somehow he knew. when i was reading shettle's book for the first time i told them about it months prior and then when i got the book again, my oldest came up and said 'for baby sister' 'you get baby sister' i was blown away. with my m/c they both knew i was pregnant before i knew it and told me it was a baby sister and once she did pass away, dh had one of his family premontional dreams and he knew it was a girl. then this time they also knew i was pregnant and every day it's 'baby sister in your tummy' i think they know what they are talking about.. that's what i believe, but we will have to wait and see 'wink'

Hmmm thats a tricky one, if the tech was absolutly sure then i would go with that but I would get it confirmed at your next scan before shopping up a storm. I really hope she is right and that this is your baby girl!

Girls, check out my almost 14 ultrasound. The tech said she was 100% sure it was a girl. I am still in shock. I will still be looking for the turtle in 6 weeks...lol:) http://genderdreaming.com/forum/ultrasound-gender-prediction/11974-almost-14-weeks-tech-said-she-100%25-sure-girl-can-really.html

jjc- that's great news!
Well as for feelings, sometimes I have a feeling its a girl but...then I tell myself "no, prepare yourself for boy"...that is just me though..wanting to prepare myself...with ds2 I was completely sidetracked...I totally thought he was a girl only to find out boy...so I guess I don't want to get hopes up.
Kiesse- your ds will come around...he will become interested as the preg goes on and once you find out it will prepare him for the gender boy or girl. DOn't feel bad...ds1 tells me he doesn't want mommy to even have a baby and he doesn't even know I am preg yet. (we are not telling them till 12 week scan)..when I ask him if he would like another sister or brother he says "no"...by other ds wants a baby sister.

I too ma going team green! I have my 12 week scan in exactly 1 week!! My dp does not know about the nub theory, I want to know what we are having but dont want to know! I want to do the old wives tales and the obsessing over nub and skull but dont want it actually confirmed by the doctor. If it is a girl i really would like to knowbut not let dp know as he really really wants a girl so i could only imagine what he would be like if i gave birth to a baby girl, he would cry, so it would be great knowing to be excited for him in that way, but for me i am still not really bothered what gender it is which really has surprised me!

Something I wanted to ask you all...... Do you actually feel pregnant? I know we are, I have had the bad morning sickness, the sore boobs and all the other related pregnancy symptoms that people have but i dont actually feel pregnant yet, sometimes i forget i am! I thought i felt a slight movement yesterday but i know its early, but i swear it was baby, i am small anyway so showing LOTS already, but this felt like a muscle spasm down where baby was it was so quick and lasted for only a second so when i went to concentrate on it it wouldnt do it again it was like is it or not? That was my first real feeling of knowing i was pregnant, i hope that i start feeling movements in the next couple of weeks, thats my favourite part! I felt DS2 at 14 weeks so fingers crossed!

I have felt the same way Kiesse, totally! I went for a dating u/s today and it still doesn't feel real lol!!
I am officially but very close to not being in january. January 31st!
I tried not to look at the nub but could not control myself! I wish I never knew of it, I am 99% sure it is a boy. I saw it pointing up, like obviously. It made me smile though, so that made me happy. But realizing I knew I would never be lucky enough to get one of each is sinking in:( of course not, what a fool!
I'll try to figure out how to post pics later but none show the nub so I don't mind guessing:)

July 19th, 2012, 06:07 AM
Yes please post photos coco!!! I am not bothered by gender i really only swayed for a girl as i know how much DP wants one, there is also a huge selfish reason i want it to be a girl for him but a huge story so wont bore you with the details. i had slight GD with DS2 but as soon as iseen him it went away so i think thats why i am not rally worried if it is a boy or a girl, for me a boy would be great as i love having mummys boys but really wanna girl for DP and also as i know how much it will piss his 2 exs off!! seetold you it was for selfish reasons but after everything they have put me through i would love baby to be a girl as they both have sons with DP and both really wanted girls! man i must sound like the biggest bitch, i mean i will be stoked and love this baby with my whole heart but a girl would be the perfect gift for DP.
oh thats funny that you are due the 31st! i have 2 dates, the 29th and the 1st of feb! so i am in the same boat!! i will have more of an idea of dates when i have my scan on monday!

Its weird for me as well. Although I feel pregnant at times, it doesnt seem real. I have started telling people yet it doesn't seem real in that sense either.

I can't tell on the sickness level cause I'm taking Zofran this time that I have never been offered before! But I have been having mor good days than bad and tend to feel worse in the evenings this time. Last time I basically felt like shit all day and night!
I am working through my 3rd migraine in 3 weeks... I had 1 with my last pregnancy and I have a feeling I'll have more sadly:( I think that's it!
I have 2 more pics but I have to get on my computer and I don't even want to move with this migraine, so another day:)

Had scan today have put photos up. I have no idea. I had boy feeling on my way to scan but when i was in there and looking at baby i felt girl. So i don't know. It was hard to get good photo as bubs was moving round heaps but i swear i say a forked nub at one point but thought i also seen a boyish nub at start of scan but didn't see it again it was just long strait an white but not once did i see a blob on it at all. So now i am confused and want to find out! But now it dp that won't let me find out! So honest opinions please and also copy them and draw on them to show me what makes you think that gender! So I'm due Feb 6th, but the Due in Feb thread has had no action the past month! Since I'll most likely come early in Jan, think I'll post here more...I've got my 12 week screening scan on Thursday and am nervous! I want to stay team green but am curious too...thinking I should ask them to only give me a head shot so I don't nub-sess...I'm afraid of seeing a clear girl nub all long and flat. Other than that type of nub I never get them right, but with the long flat ones I guess on they always end up girls. Hoping to not see anything at all so I won't obsess and easily stay team green!

Hello ladies. Well went for another scan yesterday and couldn't really get a nub shot as baby wouldn't stay still. I managed to get a couple of looks and i think i may have to give up on this one being our pink dream. Pretty certain its another gorgeous boy. She said my dates were 13 wkn and gave me a potty shot which looks boy to me. Not sure how accurate they are but looks pretty convincing. Feel a little down about it but it is obviously meant to be after every thing i done there is obviously a reason i am sent a little man.

Thanks ladies. Its funny coz even tho i have these pics and am happy to have another boy, it still feels girl and I cant shake that feeling, with the others when i knew the genders, my gut feelings were fine and i could refer to baby as a him, with this one it feels everytime i try to refer to it as a him it feels soooo arong like there is a voice in my head, your wrong so very wrong! lol, its driving me nuts, i am honestly happy with another boy and have accepted it, no gd at all but why will those feelings not shake!!! its driving me nuts! i just want that to go away so i can enjoy the rest of the pregnancy. I called my medium (i speak with her every few months and yes i know its probably crazy) she got me to email photos coz she did not believe me, even though she has seen the photos she still wont believe it until baby is in my arms and cnfirmed boy as she too felt whole heartedly this was a girl. (she even told me when i was going to have baby before i even got pregnant and that was back in dec!) she said i would have another baby in my arms in mid to late Jan 2012, so when i got pregnant and found out my due date i wasnt surprised, she has been so right with many things. but honestly there is no denying those photos at 13 weeks!

Hehe. I have to admit that liam is on my top list. Riley is now out as my cousin had a wee girl this morning and named her riley but spelt rhylee kinda annoyed me a bit. Originally my top name for both of my others was jaxon but my ex hated it when i fell pregnant this time i said to my partner if it was a boy he would be called jaxon and he loved it but good friends of ours named their bubs that a few weeks back. We hadn't told anyone! Hate it when people steel ya names. I showed midwife photos but she gave me the whole lecture on how its too early bla bla i told her i bet 50 dollars its a boy based on these photos! I seriously can't see that turning into baby girl bits. Not possible at all. She said i am not trained to make that call i told her to Google it

Aww Kiesse I'm so glad you're happy. I had those feelings with my little DD - thinking she was maybe still going to turn out boy though I could look at the scan pic. But she's all girl and I love her to bits. Am hoping for some blue this time around...

I like all the names you picked. Could you ask your friends if they mind if you use the same name for your bub? I did that for one of mine that somebody used the name right before I had my LO. So glad I went ahead and used the name I really wanted.

Hey Mydream! Yip still feeling it here too. Not as bad which is good, but has only started getting better in past couple of days, still feeling really yuck from about 4-5pm onwards but atleast its not all day!

Had midwife appt last saturday and told her i felt like i was having braxton hicks contractions, she went back through my notes of my previous pregnancies and said I started having them at 20 weeks with DS1 and 18 weeks with DS2 so she said that she is pretty sure that is what they are, i bloody hate them! there is no pain at all its just my whole uterus goes rock hard for about 20 seconds and then i feel like i need to pee! its happening about 10 times a day but nothing to be concerned about, they are very happy with baby and has a nice stron heartbeat! can def feel full movements, cant feel kicks but when baby decides to do a complete turn i can feel it, cant wait to start feeling more!

Hi ladies, I have not been active on here and I really need to try more :) So as you can see from my siggie we have had numerous IVF/PGD cycles and did not end up with a little girl so we turned to IUI and injectables because I have a blocked right tube and had been ovulating from my right side for a few months. First IUI we got pregnant, with twins. I had my 12 week NT scan and posted pics on here for gender guesses and everybody guessed that that they are BOTH GIRLS! Obviously I am in denial after everything we went through but I am having another u/s next week at 15 weeks to confirm genders. I will be induced on Jan 14th at 37 weeks if I haven't went before that. My doc said that most twins like to arrive on 35-36 weeks. Ok, enough about me. Just wanted to give you all a run down. :)

it can depend on position of the placenta....I have an anterior this time, which made me unable to feel anything until 18 weeks or so...wtih my DS2, he was posterior and I swear, I felt movements (really faint) starting about 13 weeks with him. DS1 didn't feel until 18 weeks.

Oh mydream, still? That has been me in the past but this one has eased up (or the zofran helped it ease up) earlier this time. Just in the past few weeks, esp after I eat, I have been chewing cinnimon gum. It was the last thing I wanted but I gave it a try cause I had no jolly ranchers and it really helped! It may not work with worse nausea but worth a try? I think it gets the stomach acids working, as I feel better when I am in the throws of it when I am actually eating, not before, not after...alas the 20 pound weight gain, ugh!! People don't believe me that I have been so sick as Im so fat lol!!!
I still kinda feel poopy on and off each day but today is the first day without meds and I feel about the same!
Also, I am taking a prescription antacid as I really thought that may be attributing to the nausea, and I feel it has helped a lot! I think it has a lot to do with the digestion being slowed right down somehow!!

I don't think there's anything to the heart rate old wive's tale personally... my babies have always been all over depending on if they're sleeping or active, etc. This little one has a nice relaxed heart rate, so I'd like to hope, but I know from the other 5 that it doesn't make a difference!!

Hi ladies - I'm still here, just not posting very often but checking up on new BFPs and everyone's progress!

Bub is moving - a LOT - I am constantly feeling tiny kicks and punches, it's lovely!

No more morning sickness - just can't eat eggs (they make me gag) and I have no appetite for anything else. Still gaining weight on target though.. I eating a ton of greek yogurt and whole milk.

I found out that I missed the testing window for the nuchal translucency testing ultrasound, and we opted not to do the later test (blood draw) because the accuracy on that test is lower, and if they found something I wouldn't opt for amnio because of the risks. So we are going blind and hoping everything is ok... I keep telling myself that prenatal testing has only been around for the past 15-20 years or so, and there have been billions of women who have had healthy children without the help of any testing! I am nervous, esp. since I already have one special-needs child - autism, which they can't test for anyway, but still - I don't know what I will do if this one has special needs too. So I am having to dig deep and go on faith that everything is going to be ok.

Find out the gender on Sept 12th - counting down the days, can't wait! I have a deep-down gut feeling that it's a girl but I don't want to be wrong, so I'm telling everyone (and trying to convince myself) that it's a boy :)

Try sucking on old fashioned lemon drops! Those did help me.
Also try lemonade! I think that Minutemaid with the real lemons is the best! Have you tried Saltines? I hope you find something to help you soon! I'm with ya though, it's ICKY, why won't it subside yet!? I in fact feel sicker! According to my calculations I'm 14 weeks and turn 15 weeks Tues.

Hi, Ribbons! Whatever you decide about the prenatal tests, don't do the amnio! I lost a healthy baby to amnio. You can still try the Maternity21, which is very accurate, if you will.

I am 17 weeks today, my due date is January 30th (My birthday!) I have C-sections, so I get to choose if I want to have it on the 25th or 29th.....kind of fun :) My nausea is almost gone, and I am starting to get anxious about our U/S in 2 weeks. My head says a boy makes sense, we have more boy toys/clothes and the baby will be closer in age to our 5 year old. My heart says a girl would be awesome, we have a daughter who will be 11 when the baby is born, and she doesn't like being the only daughter :( With our other children we didn't find out the sex until they were born, so I don't know why I can't even wait until 19 weeks to find out if this is a boy or a girl! I am so impatient!!!!! I am new to this site, but am excited to be a part of it

Thanks pink carol, I definitely won't do amnio. Unfortunately, Maternity21 isn't available where I am (at least that is what two doctors have told me) and I opted not to get the regular blood test, b/c it isn't as accurate as I would like - and if they did find something, they would want to do an amnio. And what if it turns out to be nothing? Not going down that road. So, no testing for me.

An update on the Maternit21 test: After a lot of back-and-forth with my OB and Sequenom (the company who administers the test), I finally got an OK to take it! Sequenom is shipping the kit info to my OB and I will pay Sequenom directly for my test. I think the cutoff is 21 weeks, I'll be 20 weeks by the time I get blood drawn. A little late in the game... but better late than never right? It will be good to have the peace of mind, although I'm sure that everything will be fine. I didn't know that they also can see the gender with that test!! Of course, since my U/S is in two weeks, and the test takes two weeks to get results back, it won't really tell me anything I don't already know :)

I decided I couldn't wait any longer! I bumped up my U/S to tomorrow, I will be 18 weeks, 2 days instead of 19 weeks. I have my fingers crossed we are able to see what we need to see! I still would like this baby to be a girl, but I am appreciating my boys a little more every day. If it is a boy, the hardest part will be telling my 10 year old. She loves her brothers, but really wants a sister :DD:. Wish me luck, fingers crossed! And don't worry about your family, their job is to love any baby, regardless of sex, right? My first 2 were 15 months apart and I wouldn't trade it for the world. I realized how much I was capable of, I survived, you will do great!

I am maybe going to find out on Thursday what I'm having, so it's good to hear you say you're glad you found out...I think I am leaning that direction just for the kids' sake. Could you look at my nub shot and see what you think? (LInk is in my sig) I would greatly appreciate anyone's opinion! Thanks!

Sorry, I looked at the U/S and I can't tell because of the angle the baby is sitting. I am not a nub expert though (I guess I should be, being pregnant with my 4th boy and all!) I am very glad I found out, and I think the kids are getting closer to the baby because they can call him by his name, etc....We never found out with our first 4 and I am liking this experience. My opinion is if you have any type of desire for one or the other it is best to find out now and work through it before the baby comes. With our 4th child I had a hard time after he was born because for the 9 months he was in my belly I thought he was a girl. Just my opinion. I can't wait to hear if you find out if it is a boy or girl!

Thanks for looking! I think I'm going to go in and ask the tech not to say anything, but not to avoid the area. Hopefully I will see boy bits on my own and ask her to confirm. If I don't see anything while she's on that area, I don't really want her to confirm it even though I know it would be a girl without obvious girl bits. Or maybe baby won't cooperate and I won't know anyway! My appt is 3:30 (EST) on Thurs, so I'll update when I can!
