I am getting very anxious about this. I have been taking Vitex for three months now. My first cycle I took it I O'd on day 25 and got my period on day 32. The next month I took Vitex I O'd on day 25 and got my period on day 31. So my luteal phase was very short (6-7 days). Both months I took Vitex all the way through my cycle because DH and I were not TTC yet. This cycle I O'd on day 25, and I am currently on day 36 with no end period in sight. I still have creamy cm, and no spotting/cramping/temp drop to indicate AF is on her way.

I don't think I could be pregnant. DH and I past DTD three days before I O'd. I took a pregnancy test (FRER) this afternoon and it was negative (11 DPO). I stopped Vitex when I O'd this cycle.

When we were TTC both my kids my LP was 11-12 days, so it has never been long. And I could usually tell when AF was on her way.

Any insight? I just want AF to come so we can try again!!!!

I would recommend going off Vitex for a cycle now...
BUT 11 dpo may also be too early for a HPT ;)

I would just take vitex af to o & see what happens. Ive been taking it for 4 months now & it has shortened my cycle & brought forward O BUT last cycle my LP was only 11 days instead of ts usual 14.....I'm 2dpo so I guess we will see what happens to my LP this cycle. Maybe you are already pg? Hopefully a/s sees this & gives you her insight :) Good luck

Vitex seemed to reset my ovulation to a couple of days earlier than usual. This is my first TTC cycle ~off~ of Vitex (I'm on CD7) because I've had three months of BFNs and had been taking Vitex for six months, so I'm thinking it might have been acting a bit too much like birth control for my system.

Yes, I think Vitex does act like a birth control pill if taken for a long time. it does delay ovulation too. I am actually taking 800mg to delay ovulation for the first time (took 400mg 2 cycles Af-ov) and it's doing the job. I usually ovulate around CD 13, and get a positive on CD 11 or 12 . this cycle (CD 13) and still no postivie opk. but I would just stop taking it before ovulation next cycle.

I REALLY wanted to take Vitex...it seems to really help ladies swaying pink, but I was afraid it would mess up my perfect cycle, so I decided to leave it off. If I was younger, I might give it a try, but at almost age 40, I just couldn't chance it.

Good luck, Wishing! Hope you get a BFP soon!

Many find that Vitex works better taken AF-O as it can act as a birth control if taken constantly over a period of time. Even better, stop taking it a day or two before you expect to ovulate.

Vitex can both shorten and lengthen cycles (or both - mine alternated!) but it's the 'wonky' cycles which may very well sway pink. My regular 28 day cycles got me 3 boys and I felt it a good sign that my body was doing something different!

Thanks for your feedback! Just to be clear, this month I did stop taking Vitex the day my temp went up, so right at O.

I am spotting now, so I guess my Luteal Phase was 12 days this cycle, which is so much better than the 6 days it has been the past two cycles. But, I am hoping to O earlier than CD 25.

If is top taking Vitex sooner than O will I O sooner?

Okay Zana,
That makes a LOT of sense! I spoke to Atomic and I'm going to take the Vitex AF - O. I'll be making my attempt in June, so I'm not sure it'll have enough time to work its stuff, but I'm willing to try! I really hope it helps shake things up.

Wishing, I think as long as you stop at O, you'll be okay! Hoping you get a BFP soon!! :)

Hm, I thought about taking it the full six weeks before the first attempt, but now I am thinking, taking it only to O would be better. I just started meds for my thyroid, which gave me spotting. I donīt want to mess it up any further. Anyone experiences taking vitex the full 6 weeks before attempt?

I think changing the pattern of the vitex may have lengthened your LP (which is good!) Maybe you'll get 12-14 day LP's for a few months.

Are you 110% sure you ovulated when you think you did??

Several people have done this successfully including Zanacal!!

With long cycles like that, you may want to just take V for 14 days starting at CD 1 and then stopping it. You may O very shortly afterwards.
