Hi ladies, well really thought this was going to be my month, but af arrived on time yesterday! Its amazing how you can imagine pregnancy symptoms during the whole 2ww!

I had an attempt 0-5, 0-3, 0-2 & 0-1. Still BFN :(
Now i am beginning to think its the sylk and zyrtec??
My last pregnancies only had 1 attempt (no sylk etc) and got pregnant without any trouble. Why is it so much harder, is it me stressing thats causing the bfn?

The question I am wondering is this. Is it possible we had too many attempts? (my husband is over 40). And is it possible the sylk and zyrtec killed all the swimmers? I think i'm going to drop it all next month.

My diet has been appalling! Craving crisps, chocolate etc, and did nothing but eat this stuff during the 2ww - (thought i could relax as i 'must be pregnant!!')

Any advice? x

Hi light,

I'm really early in the 2ww myself, but we did drop both Sylk and antihistamines this cycle -- and we had six attempts over six days, with the final one being on O day. So I don't know the result yet, but here's hoping. And I'll tell you what, I had less CM this cycle w/o taking the antihistamines than I did on previous cycles when I *was* taking them.

I think the general consensus is drop what you need to drop to get pg ... but drop diet the very last thing, as it sways the hardest.

Good luck!

we had our 4th attempt this cycle, and i dropped the silk, and only took the zyrtec every other day, rather then daily.
fingers crossed it has done the trick.
My DH is also over 40, so his age, coupled with the frequent release, plus all the sperm reducers probably didn't do us any favours.
If i get a BFN this month as well we are dropping EVERYTHING except the diet

Good Luck :)

I'm sure Atomic will chime in with good advice of what you might drop first. I just wanted to say I know how frustrating those bfn's are, but it means you have succesfully lowered your fertility into girl zone, now you just have to upp it enough to conceive. I dropped sylk, zyrtec, JAD in the end in the fifth month of ttc, but it depends how fertile you and dh are, I suspect my Dh has low sperm count.

That is such a good way of putting it! I hadn't even thought of that aspect :)
Certainly makes me feel better about being on my 4th month..thank you :flowerz:

What CD are you on? Might it be too early to test!?

Hi girls, and thanks so much for your advice and support. It sure is depressing getting those bfn's each month. I am feeling quite disheartened as time and age is not on my side, and my other 2 children are getting older (i don't want too big a gap! I know i need to stop stressing as that doesn't help either....
Heres hoping you ladies get your BFP's this month! My next attempts will be coming up in a week and a half, so fingers crossed for me next month xx

Just curious what you are swaying for hon, and what you are doing to sway?

I think it's much more likely Sylk and Zyrtec than number of attempts so I would focus on dropping those two things and see what happens. you might want to try dropping Sylk first and keeping Zyrtec, just not taking quite so much of it (like, every 2 days rather than every day, or even only once on O-1.

You have very little shot of conception from BD O-5 and not much better on O-3 BUT by releasing every 2-4 days, you'll keep your husband's numbers up.

Oh and it may just have been an off month - sometimes a bad egg shows up, so even with an attempt perfect for conception, you wouldn't ahve conceived anyway.

Hi Atomic, and thanks for your reply. I sure hope it was just an off month. I will drop sylk, and probably the zyrtec (unless i think i might need it!).
Hi Butterfly, I am trying for a pink one :) I am not doing a heap to sway - tried diet for a while, but find it tough, and also was taking cal/mag (but stopped this). Take cranberry af - 0. But this month i am throwing it all in i think! Skip breaky each day and no exercise! Don't really have much weight to lose to be honest.
I already have a beautiful ds and a dd, my dd keeps asking for a baby sister - and i grew up with a sister so would love to be able to give her one. Obviously a healthy baby of either gender is most important :)

Have you tried Vitex? ;) I conceived using it the very first cycle, so I'm a believer in it!
