I find this statistic super interesting, although it gives miserable 46% chances for a :bigboy: after 2 girls lol! The Odds of Having Another Boy or Girl (http://www.in-gender.com/XYU/Odds/Gender_Odds.aspx)

I know most of the moms here are on the right side of the Gauss' Curve, proving that statistics is just a statistics.

Now I was thinking: I have 2 girls, but I've had m/c at 11 weeks before DD1. Those babies (twins) had a gender, no matter how probably they were genetically damaged since it ended in m/c. It was an oops pregnancy, so probably girls? Plus I'm designed to create girls.

So statistically I have 52.7% chances for a :bigboy: woo-hoo!!! I pray idiotic tech was wrong at 15 weeks scan

Yes, and your odds of having a boy actually go up and up over time! I hope and pray the tech was wrong too!!!

ZB, I like this study better than the Ingender link you posted in your initial post because it looked at a MUCH larger data set. It looked at Danish families from 1960-1994, over 1.4 million kids born to 700,000 families. It was really looking at the fact that the male/female birth ratio has declined as overall family size has declined, but look at Table 2 on page 960 (going by # in the upper left of the page) to see the % male births given the previous births to the family. Even after 3 girls, families were still more likely to have a boy next. And even after 2 girls it was still 50.3% male births for #3 ... after 3 girls, 51.1% of the 4th children were male.

Really though, studies are just that, a look at what happened to someone else in the past ... who knows what's in store for us in our future. I just like these stats more to show that NO, it isn't 80% that you'll keep having the same gender, no matter what the old lady in the grocery store line says! Whether it is 3 boys or 3 girls or what have you, the odds are always SO CLOSE to 50/50 that you've always got a shot. Just a matter of how many shots you want to take, and how many shots it takes you to hit the target you desire :)

Exactly B, I totally agree! When even people's DOCTORS and geneticists are spreading bullsh-- nonsense like, "your odds of having another child of the same gender only increase over time" which is completely untrue and unsupported by any facts whatsoever, it's nice to have the studies to look at and reassure ourselves that no, it is totally possible to have an opposite even after 3,4,5 of the same gender in a row!

My mom has :biggirl2: :biggirl2: :bigboy:

But since I know the details, it actually looks like this: :biggirl2: (me) , m/c , :biggirl2: ( my sister), m/c, m/c, :bigboy: ( my brother)

My mom is living example of girly life style, actually when I look at it I'm shocked she had my baby bro and not another sis lol!

Yikes, the Dutch study only gives me 47.7 for a boy next, second to last for lowest chance. I have MFFF.
At least this is just a stat.,

Thx TTC5, that gives me hope.

anything you did with your sway that made the most difference for you?

How far apart will your youngest DD and new DS be?

So I am 47.7% likely to have a girl next.

Everyone, please do keep in mind that this is across the population as a whole and cannot speak to what any one person's odds are. Some of us likely have higher odds, others lower odds, it's just that in a group of 100 people, 47.7 of them would have had a girl next!!

I like these odds too. So I have :DD:, :DD: and m/c :DD: ... my odds for a boy next are good, right?

Bec, it means that across the entire population, the odds of a couple having a boy after three girls are good. It may not hold true for you personally tho.
