Alrighty. Here's the low down:

Measuring 12 +2
The baby would NOT cooperate. I was there for the NT scan and the tech focused on the head/neck 100% of the time:/ I couldn't get a good nub view. I thought at one point I saw 100% boy nub, but she was moving the wand so fast and shaking my stomach ot wake up the baby. Who knows.
She did type PC Ant Rt. Which I believe is Placenta Anterior Right, which would mean boy.

Here are several photos taken w/ my phone. 1 with flash, one without, and one of skull. I have never gotten a 12 week scan b/f so I don't have my boys' skulls to compare. The area on the stomach screams boy nub to me...but it's kinda high up, and I don't know if that's nub or not.

Then, there are two flat lines down by the spine...those look girly. But, those could just be spine.

I really thought with all my nub guessing for others, I'd totally walk away from this scan knowing...NOT! LOL.

I'm going to post over at In-Gender too I guess. Even though I'm not a fan of those ladies. I have never uploaded photos b/f on here...let's see if these show up....

I can't see a nub. Anterior placenta can go either way, there was a thread about it on Gender Swaying Discussion. Placenta on the right doesn't mean a boy.

I hope it's a :DD: you're cookin' in there! :luck:

Placenta position at 12 weeks doesn't mean anything, the Ramzi stuff was done earlier in pg than that.

I am NOT a good guesser but the length of those white lines makes me think girl.

Goodness I can't tell, but FWIW my DD3 had a right-sided placenta and well... she's definitely a girl. I have no idea about DD1 and DD2 though.

I see what you're referring to on there about the area on the stomach; but I am not good enough at this to say if it is even a nub! FX you've got a :DD: in there!

Oh and I totally thought after nubsessing for others I'd be able to see mine at my NT scan but I never could either! It's tough.

I know, Begonia! So frustrating! I felt like such a prisoner on that table today! I just wanted to say....can you just give me the wand so I can get a good nub shot?! LOL!

I told the tech at my NT scan that I needed a full profile shot because I framed all the full profile shots of my previous children. LIE LIE LIE

I cant see at all but just wanted to say good luck! Will you have a gender scan? Hope you have a little pink one cooking

DH does NOT want to know :( I really do. The tech said firmly at the beginning of the scan, "too ealry for gender deter.". SO, I didn't ask. Plus I had told her we're not finding out, so I don't know if she'd have given me a guess had I asked.

There's a private place near me that does scans at 15 weeks for like $55. I may try them on my own. Not sure. One minute I'm confidant about 4 boys...the next....I'm sad. I feel like I'm in denial about my nub.....

And No ONE has responded to my in-gender thread:( I feel dorky and un-popular :( LOL. I love you ladies on here...

Ingender sucks ;)

KYBO, I don't know what to look for, I can never tell anything from an ultrasound. It all looks the same to me...and it looks like staticky tv fuzz.
But I do know that ANYTHING can happen...and I am holding out hope you find out this is your girl.
If it turns out it isn't, then this baby will be very blessed to be part of such an awesome family.

Kybo- I love you! You always make me laugh :) I swear I think having my chemical was disappointing enough it made it worse that I wasn't in your due day group anymore LOL. I totally see lines that look girly although the pics are pretty fuzzy. I think you knocked the balls off!

HopeandDream...I know :((((( I'm so sorry. I hope it's your turn soon!!!! My gut has felt girl from the beginning...but again, until I see 3 lines....gut don't mean a thing :(

I'm watching the Little Mermaid w/ my boys tonight and I just realized King Triton had all those DAUGHTERS! Disney does GD...who knew!? LOL

Anyone know the secret to getting a tech to guess on my shot over at in-gender?

Too funny! I will tell my DH he's King Triton, LOL!

Wow! I haven't seen LM in years... honestly my girls don't know a single Disney princess, LOL!

I meant to tell you KYBO that my DH didn't want to know and I felt a huge need to find out so I did a secret scan at 16 weeks that he still doesn't know about. I was really counting on hearing boy and knew I'd be able to keep a happy secret... but um, it was NOT the happy news I hoped for and I fell apart. I told DH I was scared it was going to be another girl and wanted us to find out at 20 weeks, he agreed, and so we did... I needed to be able to cry to him, KWIM? So... think about how you'll handle it IF you hear boy. I thought I'd be OK keeping the secret and I definitely wasn't. I know DoulaMama also did a secret scan from her DH though and hers was of course :DD:! She managed to keep that secret from him til birth; so fun!

Thanks Begonia!!!

You know what's insane? I wasn't going to tell you gals b/c I am KICKING myself. But the place I went to today (alone, DH watched the boys) was a genetic screening place my dr. contracts through. They are FAMOUS for a gender blood test. 99% accurate. I get it for FREE since my dr. is affiliated with them. They had the needle all ready...AND I TURNED IT DOWN!!!!!!!! For Dh of course. But now I'm sick about it.

I may do a secret scan if I can hide the money from DH....if not, duirng the 20 week scan I'll take a DVD and watch it when I get home. DH won't be there either b/c we don't have anyone to watch the kiddos besides him. Luckily his job is flexible.

My dr. is really sweet about me wanting a girl. She has an u/s machine in her office. I may beg her at my next appt. on the 1st to give me another u/s to get a better angle.

Somehow, I feel like if it's a nub shot...that's not 'cheating' and it's still a guess, so *technically* DH wasn't betrayed! LOL

DH is my BEST friend. This is all so hard. He just doesn't get my want for a girl. Le sigh...

lol kybo, you´re so funny!

After seeing 1000 scans on the web I was also sure I would see some gender hints at some point at an ultrasound, but even with scans at 13 and 16 weeks, and femur measurement at 20 weeks and 30 weeks I still have no clue what I´m having! Ofcourse the tech was trying to not reveal in my case and my baby is very good at keeping its legs closed.

I have no idea about your nub, the pics aren´t clear to me, but I have everything crossed it is a little girl!

I have looked at 100s of nubs in the last 2 years and am positive that there are NO CLUES in your pics, its totally 50/50. Wishing and praying for you its a girl xxx

May 23rd, 2012, 03:32 PM
Thanks H&G and Nini. I have stared and held up my photo to the light for HOURs. That thing at the top that *looks* boy is not the nub....I believe it's cord...as there is a slight shadow in the pic that continues up...or it's leg. I do see what I think is the nub, but I need to scan the pic in to see if it shows up or not for y'all to see. I'll see if DH can help me scan the image in with his work scanner.

May 23rd, 2012, 03:43 PM
the thing is...we can see a tiny part of the nub in the first 2 pics, but it will be impossible to make any reliable guess based on those, I really think its 50/50.....but do post the pics again in better quality if you can, perhaps we do see more after all, or we can even just obsess with you :) xx

There are tons of GD references in Disney movies and cartoons. My favorite is in Lady and the Tramp, the mom wants a girl and the dad wants a boy. My least favorite is when Gaston in Beauty and the Beast goes on about how he wants all boys ("why, we'll have 6 or 7, strapping boys like me") and Belle acts completely disgusted at the thought. :( I find that villains are often are shown as desiring or having all sons.

This is super cute too Casey Bats Again - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aq9ur0VfVn0)

You know, that's a really interesting thought. I always thought Belle was disgusted at the idea of having six or seven mini Gaston's rather than 6 or 7 boys. Or maybe she was grossed out at the idea of even having sex with him.

There are evil villains who have daughters - Cinderella's stepmother and her stepdaughters for instance.

Oh, she was def. grossed out by that too but I just felt an air of "Ugh, boys" from that scene.

Exceptions abound, of course! Cinderella, in my mind, is different because the daughters are seen as competitors for the interest of the prince and the villainy is kind of a "Toddlers and Tiaras" variety. ;) The "I will rule the world" (MOM from Futurama) and "I want to marry you against your will" (Gaston) style villains are really more the ones I was thinking of. (can you tell I put way too much thought into this??)

oh hun,,,,i can't tell at all..the skull looks quite boysih but who knows..i would never depend solely on the skull theory...my ds2 had a skull and body of a perfect girl.....but at 12 weeks nt scan you couldn;t miss his goods for one minute..like his skull and torso..it was thin but loooooonnngggg.....and stiucking up like a sore thumb!!!!
and i was convinced he was a girl....up until then....with ds 3 i was convinced he was a girl too.as i felt the most nuaseous with him up until then....it wasn;t until i had my dd that i actually vomited....so who is to know....i think not knowing for now still give a bit of time to pray and hope for miracle and that whatever you may have seen is not true...becasue god is allknowing all great...if he wants to vhange that gender this minute whislt you do not know and have no evidence...then anythng is still possible.....:)
