Well, ladies - a sparkly, new due date board - how exciting!!! I've asked NBP to move our old chat to this board for archive purposes, but I think it might be nice for us to have monthly chat threads so it doesn't get quite so unruly. I can also start a proper due date tally if you'd like, but please, PLEASE if anyone either isn't on there or their info is wrong/incomplete, just let me know and I'll add you. We always welcome new people to our due date group and I don't want ANYONE to feel left out!! :HH:

So...25 weeks today. My baby is an eggplant!

I'll try to get a belly shot later today to post.

The baby's moving a lot more now, and I can feel distinct body parts if I put my hand on my belly while she's moving. One of my least favourite pregnancy symptoms has started too, though - heartburn! So far I've kept it relatively under control with Tums, but I know in my twin pregnancy it got so bad nothing helped!

Auroara You look great too!!!! I Might take a pic now and then another at 25 weeks and see how much I grow!

Do you find you are carrying different to when you had your boys?

Mochagirl
June 2nd, 2012, 10:01 PM
I think you have a gorgeous bump, auroara!

I'm carrying very differently than my boy pregnancies - much higher. I can still button up my largest non-maternity jeans, which I definitely couldn't do with my other pregnancies at 25 weeks!

auroara78
June 2nd, 2012, 10:54 PM
Carrying a bit higher, but still the same "wide-spread" across :0 thanks ladies!~

Awww, love the bump shots! I haven't done one for my 20 weeks yet, oops (I've been trying to do them every 2 weeks for this pregnancy).

This time around I am carrying low and a lot more out front. No way I can wear non-preggie jeans. :D I've gained about 17lbs so far. I have the back-fat thing going on, too. :D

Hi ladies,

We are back from our camping trip and the boys had so much fun, the break away from the laptop did me some good, but now im back im back to obsessing over ultrasounds...i really dont feel like this baby is a boy! Really wish i had a better gender scan...ho hum!

Hope you are all well and i see some lovely bump pics on here...im jealous! Im no skinny minnie so cant really tell im pregnant. Im sure thought by now with the boys you could tell, i could also feel them pretty early especially DS3 but i cant really feel much at the mo, the odd time i have felt very gentle movement. I had gastric band last year and since being about 12 weeks pregnant, i have gotten more restriction and have lost about 11lbs so far in the past 5 weeks or so.

Love the new sections by the way, glad i could find you ladies

No not too far, is your scan soon pinkin?

Everyone i have shown my pic says that it is not a willy.

I keep searching scans and cannot find one that looks like mine, i cannot find a willy that looks like that. Im not saying she was wrong but i still have a feeling its a girl. I just wish that i asked the tech to show me what she saw, as i didnt see the scrotum or anything.

I really am driving myself insane :hair:

June 3rd, 2012, 06:16 AM
You would be going crazy!! I would be too... I didnt even say anything on your ultrasound because it doesnt look like a willy to me either but yeah I dont know.....

Phew, I found you all! Great to have a little catch up after a busy weekend. Gorgeous bumps Mocha and Auroara, it is so special being pg. Pinkin, not long until your scan...the 13th from memory?

Laughing, how exciting! It sure would have been a lovely surprise, but I bet the lady was excited for you herself and just forgot to be extra careful. My placenta is anterior this time too so I am expecting movements to feel more gentle. So far I have an internal spinning sensation occasionally, but nothing that anyone could feel on my tummy yet.

Auroara, so good that your DH has improved. Yes, stay away from fatty, rich and spicy foods! Go get him tiger.

HappyLea, you poor dear. That is so frustrating. Hopefully in a couple of weeks, things will be all straightened out.

Right I'm off to read some more of my book before I have to get DS2 from preschool. Trying to take it a bit easier!

Love the bump pic laughing!!

We had a pretty good weekend, we watched the History channel special show "Hatfields & McCoys" (it's about this family fued between two families in Kentucky and West Virginia (well back then that was still all Virginia and no West yet), and it was really interesting, if not very sad! The families fueded and killed differentm members off for a few decades before they finally formed a truce! And my gender obsessed brain was analyzing trends in their children! LOL, both families had like 13+ kids each, and I was noticing how gender for those families seemed to run in bunches...like boys all in a row, a ton of girls in a row, etc...I know, I'm crazy!

Then we went and got some ice cream at a ice cream shop and DS1 loved his "dino sundae" a kid sundae with a dino cookie on top, it was so much fun! DS2 ate sherbet and loved it and even my DH ate a turtle sundae. He's been so amazing since he quit drinking. More thoughtful, better about chores, I think we're in love all over again!!!

We had sex the other day too...talk about being more amazing, i'm starting to think maybe its not preg sex he hated so much but the drinking that made him not want to have sex so he used that for an excuse.

He's losing weight already too, he had to pull in his belt two notches...I'm gonna have a super sexy husband soon that I'm gonna want to tackle all the time!

Lynxie, are you a child photographer? Just wondering from the duckie on your camera lense. You look cute and not very big at all for 20 weeks!

Mocha, you look SO TINY! I can't believe you have gaoned 40 lbs. I don't see how that is possible, unless you were invisible before!

Auroara, your bump is super cute too! And I love the picture with your DS. What a looker that kid is! :) he's gorgeous! I love his lips. None of my kids have pretty lips--DH and I are both really thin lipped. :(

I need to take a bump pic and post it later. I am HUGE. I don't know how much I have gained so far (I think about 12 lbs) but I am sticking out so far I look a lot farther along than I am!

Hobber, thanks for the compliment on DS1! He does have nice full lips and everyone always comments on how he's gonna be a good kisser with those lips! (I can attest that I do love getting his kisses!) He is my "pretty boy" of the two boys and a big time Momma's boy too!!

Mocha, you look SO TINY! I can't believe you have gaoned 40 lbs. I don't see how that is possible, unless you were invisible before!

Actually, 40lbs is a conservative estimate since I'm not sure exactly how much I weighed when we conceived - we were out of town and I didn't have access to a scale. One week before I O'd I was around 112, but I ate very little the week of O because I was staying with my in-laws and basically had to live off bits of side dishes since every meal was meat. When I came home a week after O I weighed close to 100lbs!!! I now weight 150, so I gained somewhere between 40 and 50 pounds so far. The way I like to think of it, though, is that I've only gained 20 lbs, since the normal weight I've been for almost 20 years when not dieting is about 130, and it makes me feel a lot better than thinking I've gained 50 lbs in 5 months .

Auroa ~ Glad things are going well with your hubby and yay for the great sex

Well i was having a good day with DH on leave from work and a lazy day watching dvd's with my boys. And now for my rant...sorry in advance ladies but im fuming and need to let off some steam!!!

My sister whom is 2 years older than me (though you would not think it, i swear) has 3 kids whom she cannot control is currently going through a split with her hubby. Long story as short as possible, she had an affair last year even though she would not admit it at the time, with a total sleeze whom just like to split up marriages and try and get the women pregnant. My dad and mum warned her about him but she didnt listen, i tried on many occassions to try and talk sense into her but was like talking to a brick wall. Anyway she finally admitted it to her hubby and he forgave her and wanted to sort there problems and work on the marriage. Anyway all went ok until after xmas and she kicked off again and anyway they have split but she tries to blame it on him...wtf??. He is living with his parents why she is in the house and he is paying the morgage. She gives him wrong signals and is so horrible with him. Now on benefits she is living the life of riley. Going out why he babysits, he really thinks they will get back together...poor bloke!

Anyway she has 4 cats 1 mad dog and 1 budgie, she gets animals and doesnt look after them and soon gets rid. Now a single mum of 3 will be moving into a council house. And i just read on facebook she is getting a puppy next week...OMG she only just got rid of one a few months back that she got and had for about 9 months. Last week she was only on about getting rid of the dog she already has.
She had 2 rats which she got rid off to get cats, she had a cat that was riddle with ringworm, instead of having it propperly treated she had him put to sleep and got another one. I cant count the ammount of dogs she has had and gotten rid off.

We try to support my sister but she just doesnt listen and she needs to sort her priorities out like her kids and a new home before getting more pets, and because i tell her straight im the bad guy...argh!

She says she could comment on my life but doesnt so i shouldnt on hers but yet she wants support??

I would love to know what she can comment on my life about? I have been happily married for 6 years we have 3 lovely boys whom go to bed at a decent hour, do as they are told (most of the time :) ) we can afford to have 4 children with DH's wage, we save money. We have stuff to show for money we have spent (unlike her thousands of pounds worth of dept and nothing to show for it).

Im am so mad that i am made out to be the bad person, i know my mum will take her side and think i shouldnt say anything but surely not saying anything isnt being very supportive. Its not fair on the kids and its not fair on the animals she keeps getting and then getting rid of. Mum said she tried to tell her not too but she just doesnt listen to anyone, she needs to grow and and realise that she has too much on her plate at the moment. Her kids are also meant to be ill and under a specialist something about a lack of vitamin D (not meaning to be horrible but she making this out to be a massive thing also) saying this is reason why kids have bad behaviour?? what the hell dont try and blame kids behaviour on that, it is how they have been brought up.

I moved back up north to be near my family and oh do i regret it and so cannot wait to move away! It winds me up so much drama, i just dont want to be near it anymore.

Thanks Mocha, i just cant understand how she doesnt see what she is doing is not right. Ok the puppy may bring joy to the kids for a bit but in my eyes, thats another mouth to feed plus vet bills and pet insurance? She doesnt pick the poo up in the garden for the dog she has now, it will be worse with 2.
Surely this is too much for a single mum of 3 already with 4 cats 1 dog and 1 budgie!!! Whom needs to find a house asap and what if the house she gets doesnt allow pets? Another load of animals she will be getting rid of.

HappyLea, that is an awkward situation. Sorry you have to have that going on around you!

Thanks for the bump compliments everyone! Yep, I am a hobbyist photographer and usually have toddler/child sessions. :) I figured someone might find my duck hilarious - it's actually a baby toy from a garage sale!

Mocha, my average weight is around 130, too (during the fall I was a very toned 126). I think now I'm around 155 and it's soooo hard to change my mindset about my weight. I worked so hard after DS1 to get in awesome shape and now I crave terrible foods and I'm so tired I barely want to do yardwork, let alone exercise! LOL.

Ugh, Happylea, your sister sounds like a difficult person! I don't approve of people treating their pets like that at all! If you get a pet, you should be responsible for it, not just give it up when it is no longer convenient. I doubt she has anything to say about your life--she probably just makes that comment so you will feel bad for saying things about her.

I went to my ob appointment last night and I had to see A male dr which was not and ob because My usual ob was away.. Anyway he checked me over and went to listen to babies heart beat and couldnt find it ( OH THE STRESS) Anyway he ended up going and getting my usual ob's ultrasound machine which pretty much looked like a laptop. Anyway he found baby and heart beat so I was happy I saw baby moving was not the best ultrasound but could make out its head arms legs and tummy AND heart!! It was only a side view shot of baby but I thought I saw something sticking up down there??? Could of been cord , could of been the leg But would a doodle be sticking up ?? I asked the guy if he could tell me the sex and he said no because you need a good ultrasound machine and the right shot between the legs.. hmmm I am not so sure??

Thanks for listening to me rant, well today is another day and i plan on enjoying it with my boys and DH :D

Pinkin, its horrible when they don't find heartbeat straight away, but so glad you got to see and hear your bubba. Im sure you have nothing to worry about what was between legs, could have been anything from cord or foot you saw.

Have a nice day ladies x

pinkin2011
June 5th, 2012, 04:59 AM
It is very horrible but he could see the placenta was covering the baby so that is why he couldnt hear anything..

I have it in my head now its a boy so if I do hear girl its a bonus

PeonyPrincess
June 5th, 2012, 07:46 AM
HappyLea, your sister sounds high maintenance and a pain in the backside to me. Sounds like your parents would rather tread on eggshells and not upset her rather than tell her what they really think. (Mine do that for one of my brothers.) But she is big enough to figure things out on her own. I just hope the kids are ok with the break-up and instability surrounding them at the moment.

Pinkin, that would have been horrible to have to wait while he checked with another machine for the heartbeat. So glad everything is good. I am like you...I've decided this is a boy too and tell myself that if I'm wrong then it's just a bonus that I was wrong!

pinkin2011
June 5th, 2012, 07:50 AM
Yeah Peony It was horrible waiting 5 min felt like an hr!!!
Have you decided to find out gender?

Mochagirl
June 5th, 2012, 07:57 AM
Pinkin - so sorry you had a fright, but I'm glad you saw your baby. I wouldn't worry about what you think you saw - those little machines are so crappy you can barely tell what you're looking at.

auroara78
June 5th, 2012, 10:34 AM
HappyLea, your sister sounds like a cow that needs to grow up! Really, the thing with the animals is terrible, but I'm more worried about the message it sending her kids...that when soemthing is not convientent anymore, you just get rid of it! I do feel for the poor animals too. I had an animal moment myself last week where my two cats started getting sick and we just don't have the extra money for the vet, but I called and looked around and found a low cost income based cat clinic and we happily took the sicker cat in yesterday! he needs medication but he's going to be fine....the idea of giving the cats away was tempting for a moment since my DH has to have his nuts nagged off to change the cat box, but we've had these cats for 10 years, and they've been very low maintaince until now, so we had to step it up and take care of them, fulfill our responsiblity to them.

Pinkin, I agree...I woudln't worry about what you saw on that crappy machine, you really don't know yet...it could be either gender! If it helps your heart to protect it by thinking boy, then by all means, keep thinking it, but don't think it if it makes you feel too depressed because you simply really do not know yet!

Peony, I still really hope you find out! I still think you're going to be surprised and hear girl!!!

How are all you lovely ladies and bumps?

We had a fab day yesterday, took the kids to the Ice Cream Farm, they looked around the animals, played on the adventure park, went on the quad bikes and also ate ice cream of course...nom nom nom! We all had so much fun, although i did find myself looking at the genders of all the other families and all with 2 kids or more seemed to have have mixed genders :(

But on the plus side i think we have agreed on a name if this is deffinately a boy, its not 100% yet but we have chosen Charlie Anthony (my grandad was Anthony who sadly passed away earlier this year, also the middle name of my other grandad who passed away before i was born)

Our other boys are: Elliott Matthew, Benjamin James, Oliver Lee do you think Charlie Anthony would sound nice??? We struggle with boys names.

auroara78
June 6th, 2012, 10:15 AM
I replied on your other thread about names, but I think the name goes well with the other name and I've always liked the name Charlie!

Hobbermittens
June 6th, 2012, 10:53 AM

Mochagirl
June 6th, 2012, 12:47 PM
Mmmm...I'm not sure what an ice cream farm is, but I want to go right now!

I loooove the name Charlie. It was on my list for ds3 (and would have been again if this was ds4), but I wasn't able to convince dh to go for it. I think he imagined the baby's 'real' name to be Charles, and he doesn't like that name. I think I would have just put Charlie right on his birth certificate though and skipped Charles altogether!

Hobb, I am sitting at home stressing!! Thats what I am doing today..

My d/h is away working for the week and before he left on sunday morning at 5am he gave me his dirty football gear in a plastic bag for me to wash.... Last night he rang me and asked if his footy gear had been washed because it was real muddy and I said yes! Well anyway he doesnt know this yet and this is why I am stressing!!! I have thrown his football gear in the bin thinking it was rubbish ( shorts, Socks , Football jumper, Expensive football boots!!! and they have gone to the tip!!! Oh gee I am in so much trouble He is going to FLIP!!!! I am just waiting for my usual morning ph call....

Hobbermittens
June 6th, 2012, 07:09 PM
oh no Pinkin!! Can you replace it before he gets home? Do you know the sizes of everything? I am sure he will know it isn't his original stuff, but maybe he won't mind as long as he has new things. :worry:

pinkin2011
June 6th, 2012, 07:12 PM
The football jumper is from the football club he doesnt actually own it so that is my main problem. He only jut brought the rest of the gear last weekend! I can get the shorts and socks but he will need to get football boots and well as for the jumper I am not sure what his footy club will say!

Pinkin, the water works always work for me in a tricky situation! He can't be too cross as he should have washed his own stinky muddy footy stuff IMO, rather than leaving it for his pg wife to deal with!!
At this stage I don't think we will find out the gender as DH doesn't want to keep it from the kids and I don't want them to know as I am sure they will tell everyone. As much as I would love to find out, a big part of me also loves the idea of waiting and having a surprise. It is 3 weeks until my 20 week scan and I think the time will go really fast as we have heaps on, including visitors arriving next week.
What have I been up to today? Took kids to school, had a blood test to check thyroxine levels, sat by the ocean to have a chocolate croissant and decaf latte, went for a walk in the Botanic Gardens, phoned my parents, picked up DS2 from preschool, dropped a box of toys at St Vinnies, and now I am on here (in between feeding my bottomless pit of a 4yo!) And it's only lunchtime. Tomorrow is a work day, so I try and do a few nice things on my days off.

I couldn't agree more with Mocha! Sounds like heaven!!

I just found out via email that the raise I was supposed to get (2-3K extra year) is being postponed until next year! I was hired 11 days short of getting a raise for this year...I am seriously kind of sick about it, because money has been tight, and I was counting on that extra little bit every paycheck to help get our finances back on track. UGH.

Hubby is refusing even a part time job because he knows a part time job would just be retail or something that pays 8 bucks an hour or around that, I just think he's being a snob. He could work 2 nights a week after I get home from work, and still have plenty of free time. He's just being a bit lazy and snobbish. Even 2 nights a week at 8 dollars an hour would help pay an extra bill off, or even be extra grocery money. It's not like I'm asking him to work full-time. To be fair to him, I havent really pressed the issue with him, just mentioned it in passing (very briefly) but he got very upset with the idea of working for almost "nothing" as he says.

I'm just extra worried because I have a 10 percent coinnsuracne thing and even though they pay most of labor and delivery, we are STILL paying off DS2's hospital bill. It is still over 1000 dollars and we pay on it some every month. Then, I worry about the incoming bill from DH's ER stint for his pancreatitis....and well, money sucks, let's just put it that way....

Despite money woes, everything is going great. DS1 and 2 are just lovely and cuddly and oh so cute, hubby is doing better health wise (he's still terrified to have a drink, and he's eating more healthier), so I guess there is definitely an upside...if only we could get our money sorted better....

Your DH could take a job like that. I did. I work only a few days a week in the evenings, and it helps. I get $8/hr. It isn't a ton of money, but it does help.

I am sorry about your raise! What a bummer. WHen they say "next year" do they mean next summer, or just after the New Year?

Thanks Hobber. I will see how strong I can be! And I meant to ask you for your salsa recipe if you don't mind sharing? I love tried and tested recipes.

Absolutely! Here is how I make it (I wing it a little, so feel free to change it here or there):

2-3 cans diced tomatoes
1 can Rotel tomatoes and chiles (original flavor)
1 sm can roasted mild green chiles
1 fresh jalapeno, chopped and seeded (use more than one if you like it really spicy, or less for a more mild salsa)
1/2 can chopped jalapenos (again, use less or omit this ingredient if you like it milder)
1 green pepper, chopped
1 sweet onion, chopped
at least 5 cloves garlic, chopped (more if you like!)
The juice of one lime
a few splashes of vinegar (red wine vinegar or apple cider vinegar work best)
salt to taste
fresh chopped cilantro, to taste ( I usually use a handful or so)
4 green onions, chopped

I mix everything in a big bowl, and then take about 1/2 of the mixture and put it in the blender. Then I "pulse" it, so it gets smoother, and mix it all back in with the chunky mixture.

Like I said, I do wing it, so it isn't always the same every time. I sometimes add chopped cucumber (which is delicious!), but that seems to make it go bad quicker, so if you want to add the cucumber, maybe add it to only part of the batch.

I do sometimes use fresh tomatoes (maybe half the amount fresh, half canned). The fresh tomatoes tend to make a lot of extra juice, so you might have to pour some off. We live in a place where good, fresh tomatoes aren't always available, so that's why I usually use the canned kind.

Auroara - I'm sorry about your raise - that really sucks. If DH doesn't want to work in retail, there are lots of online jobs he could do. I do online freelance writing (or used to), which pays $15 per article, and I also do search engine evaluation work that pays well for what it is.

Also, your comments about having to pay for the medical stuff really makes me happy I live in Canada. My Dad's been in the hospital for 8 months now - can you imagine if we lived somewhere where we had to pay for care?? My DH had brain surgery a few months after we got married and had a 2 week stay in the hospital - I can't even imagine how in debt we'd be after that, not to mention the week stay in the hospital after my twins were born, including some NICU care. We don't have to pay for anything like that here - it's all rolled into our income tax. Worth it if you ask me.

Mocha, I think that would be a dream come true. It makes my DH huffy that we pay so much for our health insurance (and we really do!) and yet everytime you NEED it you end up stuck with a massive "co-pay" bill. I kind of miss the HMO I had when Quinten was born ..it was just 400 dollars for everything and I thought that was alot, but after getting 10% seperate bills from the hospital, the other various doctors helping with the c-section, the ob-gyn office themsleves....400 seemed like a deal to have a baby with!

My old co worker's husband a federal employee and it cost ZERO to have her baby! Why must us non-federal people have to pay so much?? ACK.

Sorry, my mood has not improved since this morning. That email really shot me down in a slump, and then we talked about it in the education meeting where my boss point blankely addressed it and pointed to me and another employee and said our raises were definitely getting deferred until January. So it's only 6 months, but it's 6 months that I was hoping to have some extra money.

Hobbers, I'm going to have to reapproach hubby now that I know the raise isn't going to happen for another 6 months. He thinks we can "make" it if we're careful, but we're not always careful, and he never took over the check book like he said he was going to once he became a stay at home dad, and it's time for us all to face the music now, instead of letting it get totally out of control. I'm going to have to make a new spreadsheet for him and show him, I guess. Numbers talk more than words, I suppose.

I really feel like I need a good cry right about now. My dad's taken a turn for the worse - he had a heart attack last night on top of his millions of other health problems and is now in ICU. My mom is on a much deserved vacation in Spain (she's been his primary caregiver this whole time), which means my brothers and I are trying to manage this crisis remotely - none of us live in our parents' city.

I was doing some yard work to try to take my mind off things and had to set my brand new sunglasses on the ground for a minute to do something, and when I turned to get them ds3 had ripped them into 3 pieces. They weren't really expensive - $35 - but we're having a tight month money-wise and now I have to get new sunglasses. I really didn't need this today..,.

TBH, my dad and I have never been very close. I don't like to see him suffering, but s lot of his health problems are self-induced because he had a very unhealthy lifestyle: a smoker for over 50 years and a closet alcoholic. I worry more about my Mom who is older than him but has taken care of herself. Now she lives her life at his bedside instead of being out enjoying her retirement years as she should. That's why I'm glad we talked her into this trip to Spain with a friend - she really needed to get away! I just wish I could help her out more but I live 4 hours away.

Mocha, that does not sound good. Make sure if anyone needs to visit him they do it soon, so they don't have any regrets.

Auroara, that is a really tricky situation. Definitely a good idea to show him the stats. Might make it sink in and he might realise it is hopefully a short term option and you aren't wanting him to do it forever. My DH used to do night fill at the local supermarket when he was at university as it paid ok and the hours suited.

One of my brothers is there for the weekend and my Mom comes back from Spain on Monday, so we're covered. The doctors have assured us that although he's very poorly, he's not yet at death's door - otherwise my Mom would have cancelled her ticket and come back early and all of us kids would be there with him. We will be planning a visit soon, though.

We have no real plans today but I might try and finish the painting in the playroom (just need to finish the big closet which is turquoise!). I also have a family photo session tonight...and it's been a while since I had one of those and not just a toddler or something!

DH let me sleep in (it is now almost 10:30am) and I feel sooooo sore. Maybe I'll try and get some knitting done today, too, since I'm trying to finish up a few different projects.

Not much planned today here either. It's pouring rain outside, so we're all stuck inside. We were supposed to go to a big BBQ at ds3's preschool, but I don't really fancy hanging around outside in the rain.

Tonight I'm going out with the girls. One of my friends is recently separated and just recently got a new boyfriend so I imagine I'll be spending my night listening her talk ad nauseum about him. It's funny - when I was in my 20s I was used to having to listen to friends in the first flush of a relationship yammer on and on about it, but my friend's almost 42 and a mom, so it seems weird somehow! Maybe I'm just bitter because she and I used to go out to movies together every week (which was my ONLY night away from the kids and something I really looked forward to), but now she keeps ditching me and only wants to get together on nights her man isn't available so she can dish about her most recent date. I really do wish her happiness - I don't mean to sound like a b****. Ok, rant over...

Haha! Thank you! I feel like I sort of have to be (where the house is concerned) since we moved into this place in mid-January and it had been foreclosed for about a year, I think. Lots of fixing up to do. Almost the whole upstairs had two layers of wallpaper and the downstairs had water/pet damage.

I think I'm mostly just excited to get the downstairs fixed because that's where the playroom and the craft room are going to be and I've NEVER had a place to have just my crafting stuff (and not have to pack it aaaalllllll away into a closet again once I'm done). And the layout is such that the kids can play, I can check in very easily, and a gate can be set up so there is no escaping, LOL!

Well the weather here is horrible and rainy, we had to cancel our day out to the beach with the boys and dogs. We went to ikea this morning and have chosen a big boy bed for DS3, we will get it once we have gotten the bunk beds for DS1 and DS2. Want to get the boys all sorted in new beds before baby arrives, not sure how DS3 will take to a bed instead of his cot.

This afternoon DS1 and DS2 have gone to nanny for tea and DS3 having a nap so DH and I have been lazy and played mario kart on the wii (big kids) lol! I love being cosy inside when its cold and rainy out.

We have a long weekend here. Yesterday we went to Greek Glenti, an annual Greek festival in the city. Darwin is very multi-cultural and there are lots of festivals and shows in the dry season. I love going along to enjoy all the food, music and dancing. The kids love the rides and the food. I went a bit crazy with the honey puffs and the greek desserts- so good. Today DH made crepes and I had a sleep in and now he has gone fishing for the rest of the day. Tomorrow we will probably go on a jumping crocodile boat cruise as I won 4 tickets for selling the most raffle tickets at child care!
Next week my PIL arrive for a week so no doubt I will be busy ferrying them around and entertaining them. Every day is blue skies and warm here at this time of year, so the family likes to escape the winter down south and visit. Only 2 weeks until school holidays and then the kids will have 4 weeks off school.

My dh doesn't go out until all hours of the night...but what he does do is equally annoying if you ask me. He's always here all the time on the weekend, but never does anything with the kids. I'm ALWAYS the one to wake up with them, then he stumbles downstairs 2-3 hours later and expects to be able to sit and read the newspaper! Sometimes he'll even take the paper and his coffee back upstairs while I stay downstairs with the kids. Then he spends most of the day in his office - I know he does spend some of the time working, but come on - I really try to respect his boundaries on weekdays since he DOES work from home a lot and I try to keep the kids out of his way, but he could at least join us in the backyard or the playroom for a little bit and maybe give me a break! If he does decide to grace us with his presence, he always has a book in hand for himself to read, and if the kids start being loud or naughty he disappears again instantly. I often feel like a single parent too!!!

Well ladies, sorry to hear about your pain in the butt partners...i would get very annoyed if mine did that also. So glad its not a common thing and just every so often tho. My dh doesnt really drink at all and he isnt into football or anything like that but he does like to spend hours and hours and hours cleaning the cars or looking on the internet for gadgets and stuff that we didnt need until he finds it...lol! Surely a car can be cleaned in about an hour but no he spends way too long doing that, while im watching kids, i have started making him take them out to help him tho.

Well last night i had to take a trip to labour and delivery, as i was loosing some clear fluid (which i thought maybe waters) anyway after doctor not being able to find my cervix the registrar came in and lets just say he was not gentle in the slightest and he hurt me so so much  anyway he said there was some water like discharge (sorry tmi) but he wasn't conviced it was my waters. He told me to keep a pad on for next 3-4 days and go straight back if they get wet. Also he thought the water like discharge could be thrush??!! I never had thrush before but when i came home i looked it up on net, so hopefully it is that and not my waters.
On the upside i did get to hear my babies heartbeat, i was worried as i really dont feel this baby at all. And the midwife took a look at my potty shot and she didnt have a clue what it was...ho hum only 8 days till i get confirmation.

Eek, happylea, glad you heard baby's heartbeat...not to start stuff back up, but your potty shot is very iffy, and I am still hoping you'll be surprised in time for your scan!

Mocha, that's my husband...house troll! Except he's not doing anything important, he's playing his video games...so when I'm "on duty" he's "off duty" in his bedroom playing his computer. He does get off quite a bit to play with the kids...but it's quick snippets here and there, and if I ask him for anything real (like give them a bath, feed them a full meal, or change a diaper), he refuses when he's "off duty" but he'll do quickie stuff, like give them a snack, or watch them so I can take 'shower' (glad he's got his priorities so straight!)

yesterday, he helped clean the big plastic baby pool we have...it was first time use since last summer and it was dirty and he cleaned it real good, and helped skim it as the kids played in it, then he said his feet were "burning" and hurried inside to return to his girfriend, his video game, lol.

then we made some yummy dessert together: I made the cheesecake but he created a homemade yummy cherry topping for it. It was a delightful sin and I had two big pieces and it was sooo great!

So yeah he does do a fair amount of "men activites" when im home but he tries to balance it a little, I'd like more time, but i guess at least he tries...that counts for something.

Auroara - your dh is a SAHD though, right? So at least, presumably, when he's 'on duty' he does stuff with the kids. My complaint is that as a SAHM I'm on duty 24/7! I wish I could just tell dh he's on duty for the weekend and hide away with my computer!!

HappyLea, I always have weird stuff going on "downstairs" during pregnancy! With my first, I think I probably got at least 4 yeast infections...I'm sure all hormone related. My last one, I was 38 weeks along and totally thought I was leaking amniotic fluid, too!

I'm happy that with this pregnancy I've made it to 22 weeks with only one incident so far.

auroara78

Mocha, yeah DH is a SAHD and he does do stuff with the kids in the daytime.

But if they are content with coloring books, playing together, the boys are playin together a lot better, my husband sneaks onto the computer in the living room (where the kids are) and plays his online game then. But he's gotten a lot better about chores (still not quite as clean to my liking, but doable) and he cooks ...so there are some highlights there!

I guess my issue is I do work full time and when I come home the kids are so happy to see me they jump on me and literally give me no room to breathe until their bedtime. And if the roles were reversed, I know if he worked full time and I was a SAHM he would play with the kids at nite too, but not the way I do....I guess it's not really fair, but I am still the mother, but I do love getting the chance to be a full mother to them at nite, it just gets a little exhausting....

I'm not quite sure what I'm complaining about to be honest with you...the other nite after work DS1 was very busy and independent and I felt quite lonely he didnt' want to spend our usual time together....

PeonyPrincess
June 11th, 2012, 07:38 PM
Mocha, do you ever leave your DH with all the kids for a while? Like a long while?! I have always tried to make sure my DH feels capable of looking after the boys on his own as I think it is easy for them to rely too much on us. I never say no when he asks to go on a fishing trip or out with his mates, because then he can never say no when I want to do something! I have flown to Sydney with a girlfriend for 4 days when the kids were smaller. The sleep-ins were the best bit! And once when we had just moved here and I was thoroughly exhausted I told him I just needed some sleep and would love to go to a hotel for 1 night and he organised it for me! Not saying you need to book into a hotel, but I believe men can be pretty clueless and they need us to spell some things out!

Hobber, I am not sure that it is exotic, mostly just a relaxed place to live. We don't swim in the ocean in Darwin (well some do) because there are crocodiles in it and box jellyfish that can kill you. I have been in snow but have never even been skiing, so I am very jealous that you have snow on your doorstep!

HappyLea, hope your 'leakage' stays away and your baby starts giving you some more reminders that they are ok. Ouch, that internal sounds nasty.

Pinkin, I don't blame you for sleeping on the lounge. They normally snore when they have been drinking and stink for that matter. Hope you took some time for yourself the next day.

Auroara, I can just picture your kids racing up to you at the end of a long day as mine do when DH gets home. It is so sweet.

Mochagirl
June 11th, 2012, 08:32 PM
Nope - I've never been away from my kids overnight, and dh has never been alone with them for more than a few hours. Once a week I go out for dinner with my girlfriends, but that's pretty much the only time he's ever in charge of the kids, and I get them ready for bed before I leave anyway.

I do blame myself. I tried to be supermom when the twins were born and did absolutely everything myself, so he never learned how to do anything and never considered it his responsibility to learn.

Thanks Mocha.... I hope it isn't my fault that I might have it--I have been having an ice cream and Zingers binge lately, and drinking more juice than water (and sometimes sodas, because they are free at work).:worry:

Mocha, you do sound like a super-mum! The only down side if your DH gets it so easy is that I think they forget to tell you what a great job you are doing. I like to give mine a reality check every once in a while!

Hobber, a friend here is due soon with her first and has had GD. She was given a diet list of what not to eat and drink and had to prick her finger regularly to check her blood sugar levels. I know they say some GD babies are big, but hers is on the small side, so it is not always the case. They just have to keep a closer eye on baby for a while after birth to check their sugar levels are ok. GL with your testing. And it is not caused by what you have been enjoying, so don't feel bad!

He's not doing well at all. Fluid keeps collecting around his lungs, making it hard for him to breathe, and they've determined it's going to keep coming back. Either they'll have to drain it with a needle every few days for the rest of his life, or we make the decision to let him go naturally. My poor mom came back from Spain yesterday to this news.

Pinkin, excited about your scan on Fri! Will have :fingers: that you'll hear girl!!

I had a bad dream last night that my baby Lillian had passed via miscarriage, though I was still big like I am now and I was NOT bleeding. I remmeber in my dream the woe I felt at losing my baby girl, and the fact that even if I tried again, I may never have a girl again. It was a very disturbing, sad dream and I was woken up from it by the baby kicking me hard. I'm so glad she started kicking and moving around to wake me up from the nightmare! Even though i know it was only a dream, it left me feeling kind of out of it and sad today.

Hobbers, I hope everyting is OK--hopefully it can be controlled with just a change of diet only. I got my gluocose test this Fri and not looking forward to it.

DS2 was a terror yesterday evening, getting into everything possible, driving DS1 and I both crazy. Hoping today he will be more of a calm baby! Cuz today I don't think I can handle his getting into trouble every second shangingans!

Mocha, I am so sorry your dad is doing so poorly. :( How does he feel about having his lungs drained? Sounds painful!

Pinkin! So excited for you!

Auroara, I hate dreams like that! It is hard not to worry, and I worry too.... especially after that awful news on here this week. I even had the Dr. check me for the parvovirus today, because I have has joint pain in my hand, and apparently that is a symptom. :worry:

I went and had my glucose test this morning. FX it comes back normal!

My dad's pretty miserable. Hr has so many tubes hooked up to him now he can barely move and a lot of the procedures they have to do to him almost daily are quite painful. Today my mom asked him if he wants the doctors to keep doing this to him of whether he'd rather let nature take its course, and he said he'd rather the latter.

Yes, the parvovirus thing scared me too. Honestly I never considered I could catch something from my kids that could kill my baby - especially at this gestation. Very scary when living in a house full of germy little boys.

I had my gestational diabetes challenge today - hoping the results are good.

I just booked my 3D ultrasound!!! I'm going on June 28th, when I'll be 28.5 weeks pregnant. I got the whole package - 30 minute scan (with up to 5 guests - we're bringing the kids), a CD of images, a DVD, gender determination (just in case there's suddenly a penis there ) and live broadcasting (thought I doubt we'll use it). Can't wait!

Hey gals, did anyone have a milk supply issue with the first baby but then have better luck the next time?

I busted my butt breastfeeding the first time around and I am hoping it won't be as much of a process this next time. I already know I'll have some relief as I don't work this time and I won't have to pump. Pumping was pure evil for me - I would sit there for my 15-20 minute break and get 2oz total.

I'm already planning on having a stockpile of Fenugreek (and etc.), LOL. As part of my Doula training, I already have Jack Newman's book...but I could always skim through it again in case I need to refresh. :)

Hobbermittens
June 13th, 2012, 03:25 PM
Mocha, how exciting about your scan! I can't wait to see pictures. :)

Lynxie, I have never had a BFing issue, and the only friend of mine who has was unable to BF any of her 3 kids. It was really hard for her. She tried each time and only got a tiny bit, and her babies were never satisfied, so she ended up bottlefeeding. I hope you have better luck your second time around!

Mochagirl
June 13th, 2012, 03:33 PM
Sorry, Lynxie - no supply issues here, either. When I was breast feeding my twins I swear I had enough milk for triplets!

Do you have a good quality, double electric pump like the Medela In Style? It really made a difference building up my supply in the early days with my twins.

laughinglynxie
June 13th, 2012, 04:07 PM
Yup, I've got the fancy Pump In Style by Medela. I'm wondering if I would have done better with medical grade. I don't really want to cough up the money to rent one, though! They are spendy. I suppose I can ask the LC at the hospital after I give birth, knowing that I had an issue previously.

I had a friend at work that would complain about how much of a nuisance it was to pump...yet it took her 15 minutes to get double 8oz bottles full! AND she could have kept going. :P I tell ya...

Mochagirl
June 13th, 2012, 04:48 PM
Yeah, that was like me. I could fill 2 bottles in about 5 minutes when breast feeding my twins. I guess I'm just one of the lucky ones. I hope you have an easier time this time!

June 13th, 2012, 07:19 PM
This may sound really stupid to everyone but I am going to ask Atomic for a persionalised sway plan now.. I really believe this baby is a boy and I think by asking her for a plan it will help me move forward. I wont be looking at swaying again for at least another 2 years but If i can get a plan into place now I know its always there .

auroara78
June 13th, 2012, 07:19 PM
Yeah i have major BF'ing issues, my right breast just does not produce no matter what (had a cyst removed when I was 20, think they cut some milk ducts). And I can never get my left to make more it always just makes what its supposed to so I always go to bottle. Not sure if its worth the pain this time in even trying to BF since I know my right will not produce anything? last time I was hell bound too and even took fengreuk and that helped some but he was still hungry and crying and colicky, so not sure if I should even bother trying.

On a good note my husband made 16 bucks selling an item in his computer game! The game just added the feature of the real life auction house and the ONLY item he put up for sale sold for 20 bucks, but his piece (after comission from the game company) was 16 bucks...holy smokes...i am so excited my husband made me some money....i told him to keep playing tonight, lol, hoping he finds more items he can sell for real life $$$ any amount helps and he already paid for the game so why not?

I am even thinking of joining him in this game since he bought me a copy and i never play, but it might give me some incentitive to leave my game I was playing to play his with him. Why not make a little extra money myself? I feel like maybe this is a sign from God that all my worrying and anxiety about money is coming to an end!

PeonyPrincess
June 13th, 2012, 07:32 PM
Pinkin, you could always wait one more day and then see if you actually need to get a sway plan! GL for tomorrow. What time?

Lynxie, I used the medela swing with DS2 and loved it but mostly I just used to BF. I didn't have to go back to work for 13 months, so that was very fortunate. If I was trying to juggle work it would have been much more difficult I am sure. I have heard some women have trouble BF the first and then go well with the next, so I hope this happens for you as well.

Mocha, I would choose the latter as well, just like your dad. I hope his suffering eases soon.

Auroara, dreams can be so horrible. I am glad she woke you up so you knew she was ok. Last night I dreamt I couldn't eat any more beans as my blood test had come back saying I had a toxic level of beans!! WTH?! And DH had a dream that our baby had a penis. He is convinced it is another boy now.

9.30am Peony.... I feel like I want to cancel my appointment for another day!! I am so nervous only because I feel I have no chance. Waiting until birth is not an option because d/h is finding out and there is no way he will keep it to himself he will most def tell him mum and I dont think thats right so I may as well just know! I am going straight to pumpkin patch to buy him something cute straight after I have not brought 1 baby item yet not even a new blanket.

Mochagirl

PeonyPrincess
June 13th, 2012, 10:21 PM
I haven't bought one thing either Pinkin. I can't bring myself to! We got rid of everything after DS2 as we were done - lol.
A good friend of mine didn't find out the gender but her DH did and then he told her family as they wanted to know. Only a few weeks before bub was due she said her family made it so obvious... asking what boy names she had chosen and showing her cute baby boy clothes they had bought for her. She was disappointed they hadn't respected her wish to have a surprise. And indeed she did have a boy after 2 girls, so it would have been lovely for her to find out at the delivery. I would be furious if anyone did that to me, so either DH and I both find out or neither of us (likely the latter at this stage!)

I haven't been on on for a few days as i think me searching ultrasound pics was taking over my life and i think i was kinda giving myself false hope.
Anyways i heard alot of people commenting on the books Fifty Shades Trilogy and thought i would read them take my mind off the up and coming scan and OMG i picked the book up and havent put them down 3 and 1/2 days later i read all three...totally addictive and amazing!
Wish there was 3 more to take me to Tuesday :D

Pinkin ~ so sorry you didnt hear girl, im sure you will get your daughter in the future.

We are done at 4 for a long time now, but im only 27 and DH 31 so would not rule out going HT in the future. I dont think i can let my dream go. Wont be for along time though, i would want all the kids to be older though. DH said that he wont have the snip incase in the future we do decide to go HT (i dont think we would try naturally again) so even though he said 4 is our limit he isnt ruling it out.

I think he wont have snip though because my sister got her dh to have it about a year ago and now she has left him she saying he cant give her anymore kids...heartless b**ch.
I feel sorry for her DH, poor bloke! I think DH thinks if he cant give me anymore kids then i will leave him...i told him that would never be the case and said if he really didnt want anymore i would have my tubes tied. But we have decided to do neither.

Hey ladies! I'm out of town this weekend visiting my Dad in the hospital for Father's Day. The doctors think he only has weeks left, so dh insisted I come, though it means he's spending Father's Day alone taking care of the 3 kids. Very sweet. This is my first time away from the kids overnight ever, so it's been strange for me.

I haven't read 50 Shades yet, but my girlfriend has them and has offered to lend them to me, so I'll probably give them a try.

Does anyone remember at their 20 week scans did the tech tell you at the end what your baby weighed? at 20 weeks mine was 12 ounces... Is that pretty big for 20 weeks? Tech said its average but when I searched it they say 10 to 11 ounces is normal

Am excited about your scan coming up Happy Lea..how many hours away is it now?

I also think it it is sooo sweet your DH is open to HT in a few years. Being 27 you are so lucky that you get a chance for your 4 boys to get some time to grow and still have plenty of fertile time left to pursue the idea of HT. My DH and I really couldn't do the snip or tubes tied because we really hate the idea of "permanent". LOL. I feel sorry for your ex brother in law for having the snip done and then she got nasty with him...that is so cruel to him.

We were double booked this weekend...went to mom's 70th bday party on Sat and then my DH's cousin's HS graduation, and well I rang my mum yesterday and she is furious that I didn't stay for her whole party on Sat, though I did tell her beforehand we'd have to leave early. She was bieng vicious calling my DH a jackass and selfish for not putting her 1st.... this cousin he has that graduated (her name is Stormy) has been thru a ton of RL crap, incl. losing both mom and dad in the same week. She was a troubled student and almost failed 9th grade becuz of family dramma...so for my DH it was very important to support her for graduation...

Who is right or wrong? i felt we tried to do our best by attending and supporting both events, and it was a LONG day for our kids as well, everyone was exhausted, but I feel like my effort to please my Mom meant nothing because she said we shouldn't have even bothered to come to her party if we couldn't stay the whole time, and because she is my Mother, and we are more closely related than a cousin, that she should have "won" and had us there the whole time!

Should we have really skipped the graduation in favor of my mom? She was fine with the idea of us leaving early until it actually happene,d where she pleadded with my DH for us to stay and he just kept saying "we promised her we'd be there for the graduation." She already doesn't care for him, and then she called him lazy because he doesn't work anymore. He does work..he's a SAHD, but she got all nasty about him....and i told her that I wouldn't stand around and listen to her bash him, and that made her mad too...sigh.

Father's day went well though, made hubby some cheesecakes and we ate steak and french fries and the boys and him just played some.

June 18th, 2012, 11:27 AM
Oh yeah and if it couldn't get any worst at the party on Sat, my oldest sister (who I don't care for much) says to me "your bump is shaped like a basketball, are you SURE it's a girl?" She put stupid doubt in my head...and that's such a silly old wives tale!

I didn't know what to say but my DH said that the U/S tech was 100% sure and he saw nothing remotely penis like in that area! Go, go DH!

Auroara its not true about basketball shape being a boy ,With my d/s I was tiny and at work some people didnt even know I was preg and I worked up until a week before my due date , after I had him they were in shock!
With this one I am growing the same way sort of more spread out thats what made me think it was a boy anyway but really would a certain gender make you grow different??? Some people say you get huge with boys and small with girls... I know someone that was preg with a girl and she was massive!!!!!

PeonyPrincess
June 19th, 2012, 12:48 AM
When I was pg with DS1 and didn't know what I was having a lady at the supermarket told me I was definitely having a girl as she looked the exact same way when she was pg with her daughter! Wrong! Shape is different for everyone. But no penis defo means girl!

Auroara, was your mum drinking at the party? She sounds highly emotional and irrational to me. I am guessing either that or crazy hormones. Unfortunatley family always know the things to say that will hurt the most, but it sounds like you did a great job.

GL HappyLea. I can just picture you running around like a mad woman trying to stay distracted!

Pinkin I have no recollection if I was told the size at 20 weeks but I do know that it is very difficult for them to give an accurate weight of a baby via u/s. I was induced with DS2 as they thought he was getting pretty big based on u/s and he was only 6lb 14oz.

laughinglynxie
June 19th, 2012, 01:41 AM
With DS1 (I was 21 weeks for my scan), he was 15oz. I think up until about 24 weeks, all babies grow in different spurts. With this pregnancy, the tech didn't tell me.

Hi ladies, im back and non the wiser unfortunately due to position of baby she was unable to see gender of the baby. She also showed me that cord was down there.

I have to go back for another scan in 3 weeks as she was also unable to see the heart valves due to pisition of baby.

I tried so hard to watch ever so closely when she was doing the scan, when measuring femur and couldn't see anything, we have a baby that just doesnt want us to know...im going to be going crazy for another 3 weeks now :(

I showed her the 16 week pic and asked her if it was a willy and she wouldnt say for sure but basically said dont buy blue from that shot.

I really dont think i can wait another 3 weeks, its killing me!

auroara78
June 19th, 2012, 11:22 AM
oh happy lea, the suspense must be killing you!! i am going back to my gut and saying maybe the baby is a girl afterall? That was kind of encouraging the tech said not buy blue yet....If I were you, I'd try to find another scan place asap to see if I could find out sooner...I don't think I could live 3 weeks in a limbo, and esp. now that you've been given a little hope.... /hugs

And Peony, thx for the words hun! I think she has early stages of dementia (undiagonsed) because she always speaks her mind way too often and everything is always about her. And that's not how it was when I was younger. She was a lot better than that...or at least that's how my memories are. We never had a problem until I moved away (only an hour away!) and that's when our trouble began, she never liked my DH for "taking me away" from her, but even if it wasn't him, it woudl have been a different man I'd have fallen in love with and moved out...I just don't understand...I was never going to be a living with her my whole life, and I don't know why/how she got that idea, because I always talked about having a husband and kids one day, one of my life's dreams.

Mochagirl
June 19th, 2012, 12:26 PM
HappyLea - I think most private places will give you a free repeat scan if they can't see the gender at your appointment. One tip I've heard is to drink lots and lots of water in the days leading up to the u/s to make sure you have lots of amniotic fluid for the baby to move around in, and then having something sweet like orange juice an hour before the appointment. If I were you I'd go for it - there's no way I could wait another 3 weeks!

Princess Do you remember did you eat different at all when you had your girls? And was the timing different when you concieved them??

I am not really getting any movement at all!!! When preg with ds1 I felt him from 17 weeks and by now I could really feel him! I am 20 weeks and 5 days today! I guess they are all different , just worries me a bit

PeonyPrincess
June 20th, 2012, 10:14 PM
I'm with you Pinkin. I get to the end of the day and realised I haven't felt anything all day, so I sit down with my hand on my tummy and might get 1 gentle tap. With DS1 DH could feel all the kicks from 18 weeks. My tummy is still getting bigger, so I am hoping it is just because I have an anterior placenta this time around. 1 more week until I get to see the baby and see that they are ok.

HappyLea, you can tell your DH that my scan is $325...that's 210lbs!! You can tell him yours is a bargain! lol

My boys had their sports carnival this morning. So cute. They had to run 100m in the races. I thought that was a long way for the 4 year olds!

PrincessX3
June 20th, 2012, 11:24 PM
I've always eaten the same with all 4 pregnancies. DD1, DD2 and this little boy were all conceived late December, early January. Their birthdays will all be in the one week. All my symptoms have always been exactly the same, which is why I was shocked to hear boy this time.
I am almost 22 weeks and its only been the last week or so that i've been feeling kicks. Before it was just a flutter here and there. I was beginning to get worried too. I felt kicks alot earlier with all my girls.

laughinglynxie
June 21st, 2012, 02:25 AM
My anterior placenta has definitely made movements feel a lot different this time around (though I was still feeling gentle bumps here and there around 15 weeks). I also think this baby is WAY more active and prone to crazy gymnastics, so it's sort of made up for the extra cushion in front. My husband even managed to feel baby already around 21 weeks...a lot earlier than last time. DS1 was very laid back and more of a persistent "stretcher" type.

HappyLea
June 21st, 2012, 05:53 AM
I too dont feel very much movement at all, i felt DS3 well early and DH could feel him also. With this baby at my 20 week scan she said that the placenta is anterior, I think my boys the placenta was posterior (not 100% sure tho). Would that be the reason i hardly feel movement??

PeonyPrincess
June 21st, 2012, 07:48 AM
Yeah HappyLea, if it is anterior it is supposed to act like a big cushion at the front which can make the kicks and movements a lot more subtle.

Well DH has given in and we are going for another gender scan tomorrow, so hopefully this shy baby is going to co-operate :nails:

I feel bad as i have had my mum at all my scans but i have told her they couldn't fit me in, then if we find out tomoz i will try and keep it a secret so can give her a little suprise on her Pearl wedding anniversary party.

We are going to a different place then our first one, im so nervous but i really just want to know, as i dont want to let myself get my hopes up over the next few weeks thinking it maybe a girl and then hearing boy and being upset again. I just want to get a good shot so i know.

The receptionist was lovely and told me to drink lots of water before i go and take a can of full fat coca cola just incase baby isnt co-operating again. So :fingers: we will know in 16 and 1/2 hours...eeek!!!

The only downside to drinking the full-sugar pop is that you'll be WIGGING out when the scan comes around. I wasn't really nervous before my gender scan but once I hammered down a pop and a Milky Way bar, the sugar and caff combined made me a basket case.

HT is an option for the future but that wont be for along time, and im not even going to think about it. I just want to concentrate on this little man in my tummy. After everything we threw at him with the swaying he deserves to be part of our family and he was obviuosly meant for us. Well i thought i was dealing with hearing that we are having another boy well until last night and this morning  I thought i would have a look on the internet to try and find some nice clothes for him and just got upset at the lack of variety for boys. Next have some nice bits but not much. I went to Asda this morning and thought i would buy a little something for him as i havent bought anything for him yet, there was loads of stuff in loads of different colours for girls but nothing for boys and no variety in colours :(
The section for girls was huge compared to the piddly section for boys, i had to fight back the tears and walk away. I ended up with nothing :tissue:

Mochagirl
June 24th, 2012, 09:44 AM
I'm sorry, HappyLea, I've been there. I think boy selections have definitely gotten better since my twins were born, though. I remember going to Old Navy when they were babies and the boy section had about 3 racks and the girls had about 30. To be completely honest, I still find myself drawn to certain boy clothes while out shopping, and I have to remind myself I need to look at girl stuff. I love, love, love any boy clothes with the colour combos brown/blue or green/blue, and I keep seeing baby stuff in those colours and almost wishing I could buy them! Newborn girl clothes are pretty boring, I find - they're all baby pink with no variety. I've been having a tough time finding anything with brighter, more interesting colours, and often the baby boy section is more interesting to me.

I hope you find some stores with a better boy selection so you can get your little prince the adorable clothes he deserves!
