ok, so this mom with 3 girls told me today (after i told her i was hoping for a girl) that be ready to go for #4, that her gyno once told her that seems to be the way it works, that on the fourth baby your chemistry changes for the opposite gender?
then i started thinking about it... a lot of mom's i know have that same exact patter. BBBG or gggb.
like victoria beckham
any thoughts?

I know it's not the same for everyone, but in my case - almost every family I know that has 3 usually have a girl after their third boy. I don't know that many families with the same make-up as mine to be honest (2 boys and 1 girl).
With mothers of girls, I know many that have two girls and then a boy, but I don't see families with 3 girls/1 boy as often.

Usually women put on a little weight with each pregnancy, so it doesnt surprise me to see boys after a girl or 2.

I agree totally Cinss. At the same time tho, some studies have shown older parents have more daughters so depending on age, your odds of a girl might go up after several boys...but in neither case is it some magical thing that happens after X number of children - just look at Michelle Duggar!!

Statistically your odds of a boy do go up after 3 girls http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-discussion/762-statistics-question-anybody-know.html but it's not true the other way round.

Wish it were true, but I read that androgens and testosterone levels make it harder for boy moms to conceive girls. SUch as myself..the body becomes less receptive to girls, because of the hormones the boys give off during gestation. Here's to changing my chemistry though..may be why I am having an issue getting pregnant...This is my 3rd month and my body is wonky. Like

Happy, I don't think you should put too much into that idea. Clearly it is possible to conceive a girl after many boys because several of us have done it! Remember the Duggars...5 girls in a row after 6 boys in a row...WITHOUT swaying!

I have been noticing A LOT of 2 same gender then one opposite. I always see that. I thought third was the charm lol but I think it's just a matter of statistics, you are less likely to have the same 3 or 4 times in a row. Just my thought!

I have 4 BOYS! 3 from a previous relationship and one with my husband. So with that being said it is very likely to have more then 3 Or 4 of the same. I have met a couple people that have 5 or more of the same gender..

It is possible...but I wouldn't rely on it, or expect it!!
