I've found a place that specialises in early gender scans, from 11 ish weeks. They have offered me an appointment at 11+6, would that be early enough to guess?

From what ive seen 12 weeks and some days always gets a better nub Guess. They specialize in it? and offer you a 11w 6 days? im not sure what they can see at that stage really, its still early days up to 15 weeks ,i would be wary personally ?

IMO a very experienced tech with a very good machine would be able to determine gender at 11 + weeks.I was told DS3 was a boy at 11+ weeks and he indeed is :) GL !

Heres some more info on it from the sticky gender prediction
Nub Guessing between 12-14 weeks
Between 12 and 14 weeks, if you can get the right view during your NT scan, you can make a pretty good guess of what the fetal sex is of your baby! What you need to get is a sagittal view of the baby, which is a vertical image of the body seen on its side like lying on a table, backside down(if the baby is inverted or upside down, then this approach will not work) and you need to be able to see the spine and the end of the baby where the nub is located.
Within this shot, at the end of the spine, there is a genital tubercle sometimes referred to as a genital ‘bump’ or nub. The gender determination is made by studying the angle between the genital bump(nub) and the direction of the lower portion of the spine.
If the angle that is created is greater than 30 degrees then it is a male and if the genital tubercle is parallel or less than a 10 degree angle to the spine, it is a female.
How accurate is a scan this early for determining gender?
Not 100% but pretty good. Out of 1,424 pregnancies in the study, at 11 weeks it was only correct 50% of the time but at 12 weeks, it showed to be 80% accurate and at 13 weeks, 94% accurate!
If you want to receive an accurate nub guess, it is best to schedule your NT scan after 12 weeks!

I think I would be tempted to wait until at least 13 as I would hate for them to get it wrong. Being told girl then boy at a later stage must be harder than just hearing boy a bit later.
Wish I lived nearer Kent as would be very tempted when I eventually fall pregnant!

My fingers are crossed for you Maybeoneday :)Im always checking in on you ,i just know it will be soon!!!
I too have a scan that just so happens to be at 11 weeks 6 days ,i just checked, but my doctor doesnt even guess at that stage, but i will most probably get a pic to nubcess over and compare with my boy scans, just as long as you dont take it as accurate,i wouldnt be able to take it either if they were wrong and later found out it was a boy after you thought it was girl,,ouch!!

Not very. I would go at 13 weeks. Anything in week 11 is a wild guess.

I would never do a scan before 13 weeks because I've seen too many be opposites. Both boy to girl and girl to boy.

I agree. There has been at least 3 separate studies looking at "angle" early gender predictions. While the #s varied a bit for 12 and 13 weeks ultrasounds, all of them were 50/50 at 11wks. Also, if you are hoping for a girl - in all the studies more boys were incorrectly identified as girls at the 11 wk US than vice versa. So you are more likely to be told girl and be disappointed to find out later it is actually a boy. At 13 wks, the studies showed predictions to be between 94-100% accurate.

I've rebooked for 13 weeks. FX!
I'd be happy with another son but want to know asap so I can get used to it and enjoy the rest of the pregnancy (my last!)

Do most nubs look girly at 11 and 6? Been told girl at this gestation now worried it wasn't an accurate guess!

Yes, most babies will have girly nubs at this stage. Sorry, not reliable!
