I see that the last pink food thread was in March - has anyone started up a June one? If so, can you point me in the right direction? I can't seem to find it.

Thanks! :)

I don't think there was one for April or May -- it might be high time to start up one for June. I think that would definitely help people in need of new ideas.

Mushrooms, mushrooms and more mushrooms -- that's what the entries for my last two months would have looked like! :)

Haha, dramabird! ;)

I wouldn't be any help with a June pink food thread, as I'm currently on a juice fast in order to lose more weight before swaying. My diet literally consists of beet juice and "mean green" juices right now! Can't wait to begin eating again, hence the reason for this thread: I wanted to drool over all the yummy foods you ladies are eating and live vicariously through you guys! ;)

PS: Congrats on the pregnancy, dramabird!!! :)

Hmm, you said that you "manage" most of your protein and fat but then listed those as 8g and 4g, respectively. That's far too low. The LE diet allows for up to 30 percent of your calories to be from fat (depending upon whether or not you have pounds to spare) ... so that's as much as 60g in a day. And the protein just shouldn't top 40g. So if you're getting only single digits in, that's too low ... remember, if you drop too much weight or shock your system with too much unhealthy behavior, you could stop ovulating altogether.

Even simple things like ice cream will add some fat and calories, without adding too much sodium.

I'm confused on the same issue that Drama brings up - you need to be eating 40-50 g protein and 25-60 g protein and NEVER drop below 1200 cals a day. 1500-1800 is best for most people.

Okay, ladies...come share what you've been eating this month! I want to live vicariously through you, as I'm not off my juice fast yet! ;)

Truth be told, I've been pretty dang dietless since I had the glimmer of a faint positive IC test. Whether it's for real or not, I just came unglued as soon as I saw a faint line.

If my FRER is negative tomorrow (first real proper test I'll be taking, at 14DPO), I'm back strict on because if there is literally no line on it, that means I'm probably out this month and I'm going to end up having a chemical or something. God, I HOPE NOT! :(

But the constant ghostly IC lines are starting to freak me out!

FX you see a nice line tomorrow, suregena! I've seen your IC tests and they look promising!!! ;)

Hello everyone,

Fish2012 there are no idiots here!:) we are all just trying new things - you can select what you want to show up on myfitnesspal by going to settings (top right), account settings, diary settings, nutrients tracked (choose from drop down menu) and save.

I have a food question too - hope it is Ok to add to existing thread. What is low sodium pasta? I cannot find it here in spain but also cannot sea salt in the list of ingredients. Is it a speciality food from health food shops?

Thanks!

thank you emily ;-0 just put my coconut water on and it said 0 for potassium i thought that's odd so added a banana on thou and shows 0 potassium too so maybe not 100% relaiable on that!!!

i looked for reduced salt too and couldn't find any but plently that don't list salt so assumed that was okay!

Yesterday we did Father's Day early... I took my hubby out to lunch and he DID NOT want me to just sit there with a drink. :/ So I asked if they had any soup and they said no! So I tried to get the least offensive thing I could (sweet potato and chickpea curry... which no doubt was loaded with sodium... I could taste it! But there are worse things out there, I suppose.)

So, as a result, for dinner I just made low salt vegetable broth with only like 25g of rice and with mushrooms. That was so low in everything all around, I think I may use it again in the future for a diet disaster day. It made me feel pretty content (probably the warm broth helped) and I had a low cal hot chocolate later on.

I personally think you did just fine, suregena! It's so hard when you're dining out or at a friend's house and don't have total control over what you're eating, but there was a LOT worse you could have done! And it's only one day! ;)

My diet has been pretty simple. This is my diet for today (I plan it out in the AM so I don't stress about what I am going to eat or trying to add to MyFitnessPal while cooking):

Breakfast: medium coffee with 3 splenda and skim milk & diet coke
Lunch: mushrooms and cheese quesadilla, 1 TBSP low-fat sour cream, with tomatoes and cucumbers in 1 TBSP greek veggie dip, strawberries, and a snackwell 100 calorie cookie pack, and diet coke
Snack: 4 swedish fish, a twix low cal ice cream bar, and a spongebob push up
Dinner: will be 2 small baked potatoes with 1 TBSP low-sodium butter, 1 TBSP low-fat sour cream, wheat thins w/ cracked pepper hummus, cucumbers and greek dip, and strawberries w/ splenda, another spongebob push-up, 4 swedish fish

Total #s: Fat 43g, sodium 1016 mg, protein 30g, calories 1500. A little high on sodium but I am OK with that! Sodium is the hardest thing for me to get down.

Hi all!

Just started the diet yesterday. I'm enjoying being able to start my sway, but feeling a bit hungry and miserable. Hopefully that is only because I am adjusting and in a week or so it will be easier.

Yesterday I had:

Apple for morning tea, with peppermint tea
Lunch: One piece of mountain bread with ricotta, leeks and nutmeg, plus one piece of mountain bread with low sugar strawberry jam. Fat free yoghurt.
Dinner: Green beans, cucumbers, one cup of white rice baked with cumin, lemon juice and natural yoghurt.
Supper: 2 low-in-everything apple and cinammon flavoured rice crackers, and 2 milk arrowroot cookies.

Today:

Apple and pear for morning tea
Lunch: Pureed corn mixed with a cup of white rice, with a small handful of cheese melted on top.... this was actually really yummy and reasonably satisfying. No-fat yoghurt. 2 cookies.
Dinner: Pizza made out of a low(ish) sodium pizza base, table spoon of tomato paste on it, a tablespoon of ricotta, covered in leaks, eggplant, zuccini, mushrooms and 20g of low fat cheese. Green beans on the side.
Supper: Went out to a social thing where they had a caramel banoffi pie on offer. Banoffi pie is so totally 1000% right up my alley of food that I LOVE, and it was also made by a great cook and generally just divine. I had a very small piece, left the cream to the side, then knocked back seconds when everyone had seconds and refused when I was offered some to take home. Felt proud of myself but also deprived and miserble at the contemplation of having to be like this for months! No wonder I have 3 boys, I am too much of a foodie. So I came home and had 5 rice-thins. Not quite the same as banoffi pie!

it's so hard and i don't really want to tell people why i'm eating some things and not others my mum today was like you're eating cheese but not eating bread doesn't make sense to me!

I hate banoffee pie so i'm always hoping people will produce it cause i can easily say no, a chocolate brownie however no chance! it does get easier the no breakfast made me feel really sick for about two weeks, now i feel okay but think i'm still grumpy, said to DH not sure if i'll go back to eating breaky - he said i think you should - me urm am i grumpy then - yes apperantly so ;-0

Yay Suregena for AF! Food sounds good too!

I had a cucumber and fat free cream cheese wrap with strawberries and slenda, some cucumber in greek veggie dip, and a skinny cow crisp bar for dessert. I think tonight I will have a sweet potato with butter, some more cucumbers and dip and maybe a margarita or two.

Maybe get a burrito but NO cheese/guac/sour cream (and no meat, obviously
)? Extra salsa instead? :) There will be fat and a lot of protein in the beans/tortilla but it would help keeping th cals down by cutting out the cheese/guac/sour cream combo.

Or you could order sides... mexican rice, tortilla chips + salsa/hot sauce? Obviously, not sure which resturaunt it is you are going to... so I can only speculate from typical stuff what would be on the menu.

:( I miss mexican food. The UK just cannot do it right.

However, *I* can do it right. :P

Thanks suregena!!
Yeah this restaurant actually REALLY does it right, oh how I will miss my usual meal :( Here's to hoping I get preggos in August and can indulge after the fact- I'll need it!
Can I have a margarita??

NCBeachyGrl
June 24th, 2012, 07:00 PM
I think one would be OK if you bought the stuff to make yourself! I try not to stress over everything and indulge every once in a while! Instead of salt around the rim, I put splenda! LOL!

So I went out for Mexican and think I was successful! All the women seemed overly conscious of what they were eating, so me eating very minimally was not noticed :highfive: I did order a margarita, skinny girl style, and took maybe three sips. I ordered a Quesadilla and picked on the inside of it: mushrooms with spinach and cheese.

How is everyone else doing??

Today:

Breakfast: Nothing, but coffee with cream and sugar (will switch from sugar to splenda or equal in the next few weeks) I put maybe a teaspoon in when I do use sugar, does anyone know if this is really problematic??

Lunch:

Half a mozzarella, basil, tomato sandwich & some hint of salt wheat thins

Dinner:

Went to Ikea (thanks to Pinterest - getting too many playroom ideas) and ate there. Spinach & Cheese Crepes, side salad no dressing, swedish fish candies
