Drinking Alcohol??

Seems like more girls are conceived while the dw and dh are drinking? I have a wedding to attended the night before our attempt Dh will be drinking I wasn't planning on it but now I think maybe I should? What do yall think?

I would love for this to be true Mrshill b/c DH drinks wine all the time. I know that last time both dh and I were drinking and I had a son so IDK...Maybe someone else will know more???

hey think alchol increases testorone in women and reduces it in men, so you might want to steer clear, dh i think is fine as generally alchol reduces fertility in men. both ds concieved when drinking quiet a lot ;-0

Weirdly, I just answered this q in the Dream Members section so I C and P my answer from there.

The whole "alcohol raises estrogen/testosterone" - it's really not clear what the alcohol is doing, if this is in chronic or moderate drinkers, if it matters, how it sways, there are studies pointing in all different ways and it's all very complicated because people who drink a lot often have other issues going on such as less healthy eating habits, risk taking behaviors (which often go along with higher testosterone levels to begin with) and so on. So we have to look at experience and experience has seemed to show that if anything, drinking sways pink. Heavy drinker/being drunk during conception sways pink?

The fact is, alcohol is not good for fertility in either man or woman, it's proven to reduce arousal response and makes it harder to reach orgasm for both men and women (as Shakespeare said, "it increases the desire but inhibits the performance".)

Several people on this site (myself included) had been drinking both regularly and on occasion before TTC a girl.

Oh man. I feel like I have a good sway going on and I would hate to feel like I am ruining it by having some drinks the night before but, then again it would be nice to have one last night out. I guess I will just have to feel it out at the wedding. So I am assuming a few hard liqour drinks would be better then something like beer? Vodka and crystal lite haha!

I certainly can attest to the whole harder to reach orgasm deal especially for myself...DH doesn't seem to be affected at all. He drinks more wine than I do but I do have the occasional drink. Although I had a boy last time, it certainly relaxed us enough to where we were able to get pregnant. I think some of it has to do with what you are already dealing with in the fertility department?

Yes, absolutely. Swaying is NEVER one thing in isolation, it's a set of things working together, and I do think that alcohol can play a part in a pink sway, if for no other reason than relaxation and a bit of potassium.

The only time I was ever drinking around conception we got a girl. Now, if I had known I was going to get pg that month, I'd never have done it, but it was def. different from my boys!

I really think they're all fine as long as you're taking the cals into account. I was drinking beer with DD.

Well it just so happens that I had a little swig of vino last evening before our night time romp! LOL!
