View Full Version : is it possible to have ovulated this early??

what on earth?!?!?
Does this seem to you like i have ovulated early??
Temps by CD are:
4 = 97.21
5 = 97.38
6 = 97.17
7 = 97.24
8 = 97.02
9 = 97.05
10 = 96.63
11 = 97.15
12 = 97.51
Normally i get a 0.50 DROP pre ovulation, then a distinct rise.
Looks like i had a drop on cd10, then rises consecutively for 11 and 12 (today) ?
OPK was negative yesterday.
Have had some CM, but put that down to having dropped zrytec and refresh.
CP high soft and open.
I can't have ovulated this early couldi?? Thats a bit useless isn't it? The egg won't be anywhere near mature enough?!?!?
Past cycles i have always ovulated cd 14-16.
What do you guys think?
here is a pic of my chart (with overlay of different months) pink is this month. dotted lines are previous months.
Bear in mind that this month by testing time is almost 1.5hrs earlier then in previous months - hence the overall decrease in temps comparatively.
OR - taking into account my conundrum here: http://genderdreaming.com/forum/ttc-...my-body-3.html is it possible that the first day of spotting was actually first day of AF, and i shouldn't have resent the clock when the flow came? In that case i would be CD15, having O'd on CD14 which makes more sense.
But still crap as we didn't get enough attempts in.
And it doesn't explain the AF pattern of 3 days with microscopping spotting followed by 4 days of normal flow.

Are you taking any different supplements than you have versus other cycles?
Are you checking cervical position, too?
OPKs?
Do you know your coverline temperature for this cycle yet? I'm bad at estimating my coverline. If you're just using the chart, you won't know until tomorrow. You have had only 2 temperature rises following that low temperature, so I think it's too soon to tell.

Ive pretty much cut vitex out this month, and zrytec. So the only supp i am taking is folate.
i don't know my cover line temperature :(
Started OPK's yesterday and it was negative.....

Lassie...the same thing happened to me this month. I am not temping but I use the OPK's. On yesterday I started feeling pinches in my ovary region and EWCM so I took an OPK and it was super close. Today I took an OPK and it was definitely +. I am only on CD 10 today but it is highly possible that I may not actually O until CD 12. Still pretty early as I was projected to O on the 17th :confused:

Its so hard (and annoying)!! I suppose all we can do is squeeze a ton of attempts in and hope for the best, let me know how you go :)

Lassie it is pretty annoying actually! I suppose our bodies are gearing up for the big release, lol. I feel crampy today (one of my signs) and EWCM today so I brought two OPK's to work with me. One CBE and one internet cheapie. Last night the IC wasn't 100% positive but the CBE was def. + so maybe today? I usually take them around 2 so I will come back and update you after. I decided not to BD last night but I will def squeeze an attempt in tonight.
BTW I don't know if you mentioned this or not but what is your schedule for BD?

SOunds like you are certainly close!
My BD schedule this month is basically just to get as many attempts in as possible because i just want to finally fall pregnant! We started daily DTD on CD8, its CD13 now. DTD last night as soon as DH got home, and am going to try again this morning (he doesn't know it yet! LOL, I'm going to go and try to 'wake' him shortly)
If he manages this morning i don't think he will be able to do tonight as well :( So will probably have to make do with that.
Will take another OPK today this afternoon.
Im hoping i don't get 5 days worth of positives like i did last month! That just confused me to know end.
Temp dropped slightly today, so ovulation hasn't happened yet. (its 3 high in a row isn't it to confirm that you HAVE ovulated?)
Whats your BD schedule?

Lassie...judging by my OPK today I would say I am pretty close too. I just don't know how close. I could very well get 5 days of +'s like you. I will try to post my pics later. I am leaving to celebrate a family b-day at Red Lobster, lol. We are BD'ing EOD and depending on if I get a + tomorrow then we will adjust from there. So far I have two days of +'s...Uggh!

The egg will be mature when it releases even if you O a day or two early. The maturation of the egg sends the signal to your body to release it.
Next month (I realize this is obvious) you should start OPK ahead of when you expect to O just to save yourself the stress.
Actually a temp drop usually happens the day OF ovulation, then 3 high temps above coverline afterwards are necessary to confirm ovulation occured.

What is the time frame for your OPK strips?
If you had a temperature drop followed by another temperature drop, I would be willing to guess the second temperature drop was ovulation. Usually, 3 consecutive temperature rises will confirm ovulation.

So as promised here are my OPK's from the past 2 days. I think they are both positive! Today I don't have any pinching but I still have EWCM. I am going to do an OPK at around 12 just to see if the surge is still there.

huge temp spike today, so i think i might its possible ov day was CD13?
I will do another OPK this afternoon, but if its negative it should be safe to call CD13 ov day? (i know, 3 days of higher temps will confirm it, but need to determine wether or not we have to DTD anymore) (temps below)
CD June OPK
4 = 97.21
5 = 97.38
6 = 97.17
7 = 97.24
8 = 97.02
9 = 97.05
10 = 96.63
11 = 97.15 NEG
12 = 97.51 POS
13 = 97.28 NEG
14 = 97.69

Negative!!! So does this mean I will be O'ing soon or that I already O'd?

mentioned it to DH - he was pretty pissy about it. Geez you'd think i was asking him to pull a tooth out. I know the regimental DTD is not easy, but this whole TTC isn't easy for me either...
ok - rant over.

Lassie...I agree with Butterfly...just seduce him! We have to "get er done" the best and least stressful way as possible. I actually have found that if *I* do the seducing and don't mention anything about +OPK's and such DH finds it more interesting since my drive is low on the normal. He is like a kid...lol

So does anyone know how early ovulation affects your cycle? Will I have a longer cycle or will I be able to test for BFP earlier?

I've updated to VIP on fertility friend..
it says i ovulated on CD11 ?!?!?!?!
(I'm using 'advanced' as the ovulation monitor option)

It's an interesting chart for sure, I think FF is reading the big temp dip as O and then prior to that, you only had one temp above coverline which was prob. a fluke.

That must be what it's done, seems to have disregarded the positive opk's and taken the temperature as gospel!
If you had to say one way or another, what day would you put ovulation at?

If you're Oing naturally (not induced by drugs) then the odds are quite high that the egg you released was fully mature. There's some hormonal communication between the egg and your body so the surge won't happen until the egg is ready to go.
