hi everyone...
i think i might be pregnant. i took an opk which went positive 2.5 weeks ago, and af is 1 week late. i have no clue when i actually ovulated, since i know it was not when opk went positive.
i can't track my temps first thing in the am, but for the last few days i have been running 98.5-99, when i usually run around 97.3.
is this a preggo sign? hpt still say negative. thanks!

if your temps are higher than your cover line and you are roughly a week late......I would say you are probably pg!

High temps can def mean pregnancy, but you need to see a doctor to rule out a cyst or even an ectopic. (cyst is much more likely)
The other possibility is that you didn't O when you got the pos OPK (it may have been a false pos) and then you actually Oed a bit later in the cycle and so your temps are up post-ovulation.
Also, if you're not temping consistently first thing in the morning, temps are not reliable predictors of pregancy or where you are in your cycle anyway.

well ladies, i am officially pregnant. i o'ed at least 1 week late and possibly two weeks late. i am a little sad, because i was just starting to get the hang of the diet... i was not planning to start until august. the only thing i am hoping is that if the changes i made were enough to throw my cycles off so much (this has never happened to me. i o regularly at 5 weeks) maybe it swayed a little...
agh, oh well. i will try to stay positive.

Good luck Janie! You never know, sometimes the stealthy sways are the successful ones because you're not quite as swaycessed as when you're actually trying to sway.

My last was a surprise and I couldn't wait to find out. I went somewhere and could tell at 14 weeks. It was just easier to find out asap, not sure if that would be helpful to you

Janie, congratulations!!
I think O'ing early or later in a cycle is always good for TTC pink...FX to you and I echo what AS said, sometimes the sneaky sways are best for obsession etc levels.
May I ask what you were doing differently...diet, baby aspirin, any of that ?

on monday june 3 at 6 am my opk was positive. i had light spotting, pink, the next am at 8. Then, i spotted dark brown wed and thursday, got freaked out and stopped the cranberry i was taking. all the spotting made me certain i had o'ed! so long story short, no supplements. i skipped breakfast everyday for about 3 weeks, not eating until at least 12 or 1, and started drinking diet coke. i was planning on starting vitex and putting dh on licorice root, but i was not planning on ttc until august.
was good on diet for about 2 weeks, and dh gave up red meat and was essentially vegetarian but only for about 1 month. ARGh!!!!!
oh well. i keep thinking that whatever the gender, this baby was determined to come to me! i didn't bd until 1 week and 2 day after positive opk.

Cranberry can cause spotting because it's a blood thinner, and your cervix can be easily injured and that coupled with the cranberry, can cause spotting. It's good that you stopped it when you did, since it can be harmful to a pregnancy. You should ALWAYS stop cranberry at a pos OPK.

Congratulations!
I know how frustrating it can be to conceive and you didn't get to sway the way you wanted to. I hope your pregnancy is healthy, though, and I really hope you get your girl this time. :)
PS - now you know, but yes, it is common for temperatures to run significantly above your cover line after implantation.

thank you all.
the most frustrating thing is we were on vacation, and at home, my husband was spending 30-60 min in hot tub with boys for the last month or two EXCEPT the week we conceived. my moon sign is boy, chinese gender says boy, so i am pretty sure it will be boy number 3. oh well, looks like i will be trying for number 4 in a few years:)

I'm right there with you....wasn't trying...but if I would have been...I would have surely taken some time to sway first! Keeping my fingers crossed for us!

Sperm takes 72 days to form so if DH had been in the hot tub for 1-2 months before your attempt, a week cannot undo that.
If I had a girl every time my moon signs and Chinese Gender Predictors claim I was supposed to, I'd have a house of pink right now. Don't stress over those things, they don't work. :)

Yep most all chinese gender charts say DS1 and 2 should have been GIRLS and this one should be a BOY!
And my DS1 was made in the new moon. You have at least 50 % (if not better chance) at having a girl, and I agree that I think the hot tub your DH was in before will still be good! :agree:
If this is really boy 3 for you and your DH, he must have really wanted to be born :)

Please do Janie - I personally think the surprise babies are more informative than the planned sways because with the planned sways, people are doing SOO much that it's hard to tease out the factors independent of another. Good luck.
