I thought I'd add this to try and get the ball rolling better in the wives tale forum.

The OWT says that if you child's hairline in the back has a peak the next child will be opposite gender and if it is straight you will have another of the same gender.

What is everyone's experience?

Was true for my 2 oldest sons, they both have straight hairlines. Not sure about DS3's yet, his hair is kinda stringy and hasn't filled in underneath.

My youngest has curly/wavy hair so how can I tell? If I hold it up, then it's all up and nothing falls down? Maybe that means straight?

My first two have points and so it is correct. The baby's hair seems to come to a point as well, but it isn't in the middle--the point is on the side. Is that okay? Also, she is only 11 months, so maybe her hair isn't thick enough yet.

My DS1 has a peak and my next was a DS2 BUT..... I did have a miscarriage at 9 weeks in between these two boys, so not sure how that would work??

DS1 is straight. DS2 is a peak, DS3 also a peak. So right following DS1 not following DS2 and who knows for this one.

See Flava this is my problem too, only dd#2 and DD#3 had no miscarriages in between. It was right for them and predicts the baby I lost in Oct was another girl.

Doesn't seem to be true for me i'm afraid. my first ds has a the most obvious beautiful curly point at the bottom of his hairline...and i have ds2! Ds2 hairline is straight. :fx: My boys are going to do it in reverse! lol

Ive heard different, look at your youngest child's nape hairline (back of the head) if its straight across then your next child will be a girl, if it goes down in a point then your next child will be a boy, so maybe try that ladies & see what result you get.

So my elderst daughter's hairline goes straight across, & yep I had a girl, and now my youngest daughter's hairline goes down into a point, so will be interesting to see what gender my 3rd child will be, according to her hairline I should be having a boy next, that would be great if true.

I've heard the same thing - unfortunately my DD2 has the straightest hairline ever :worry:
Let's hope it won't work for me LOL!
