TTC5- how are you doing?

i am officially TTC in July. I am feeling very rushed but we only have couple of months and after that we will be away with work schedules and it will be end of the year before we get another chance. I want to make best out of this month on the diet and give a try....

Breakfast - i love cereal....i can eat all day every day...but i am not sure if i believe in having milk every day for boy diet and i dont know how to eat my cereal without it....any ideas for breakfast? I am not avoiding calcium but just trying to avoid dairy whenever possible....

Meat - I read an article about alkaline diet and meat is on the highly acidic food list. Why are we adding this to boy diet?I am confused. Like lemon, acidic outside and alakaline inside the body, meat is very acidic inside the body but alkaline outside. This is another food that i am not sure if i should keep it in the list.

i am adding more lemon, bananas, potatos to the diet along with some more protien like eggs, chicken, fish. I am not a heavy meat eater but i do eat once a week.

IMO have that milk - full cream! I started off swaying with almond or oat milk but soon swapped to full dairy!

I think having full cream milk is good for ttc boy, because the cream is alkaline.

Meat is a very important in ttc blue, cannot be avoided at all because of all the testosterone and the growth hormones of red meat which absolutely sways blue. You can eat it cold if you are too worried about it being acidic and soak it in salt water for 2 hours at least before cooking to add all that positive ions. GL

The acid/alkaline diet DOES NOT WORK - it is impossible that it alters the pH of your blood in any way because if it did, you would die. your body keeps very tight control over your pH and you can read more about it (from a doctor) here. Acid/Alkaline Theory of Disease Is Nonsense (http://www.quackwatch.org/01QuackeryRelatedTopics/DSH/coral2.html) And my take on pH in general with a bit about the acid-alkaline diet is here: http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-discussion/11684-ph-pickle.html

The point of the meat is raising testosterone and building muscle mass, and there is 10 zillion times better data that testosterone/muscle sways than any gibberish about acid/alkaline diets. pH may help slightly but that's what Preseed is for. Your diet is NOT making your body acidic or alkaline because if it was, you'd be DEAD.

I PROMISE you as God is my witness, it is totally possible to get boys drinking huge amounts of milk and eating tons of dairy every day. I've done it 4 times and so have several others on here, many of whom cut out calcium all together and then went onto conceive girls. Quite a few of the blue sways that failed were people who had cut out milk all together. If you're still not comfortable with that, there are many milk substitutes that you can read about here. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-discussion/1829-many-marvelous-milks-pink-blue.html

I have a question about potassium supplement,I have just bought Potassium chloride bp600mg, is it the same as the potassium supplement for ttc blue? and if so then how many should I take per day?

It is completely possible to be vegetarain or even vegan and have boys. You need protein, healthy fats, and nutrients and meat is a great source of those things, but if a person doesn't want to eat meat, they can simply focus on getting protein, healthy fat, and nutrients in other ways.

Food temperature has nothing to do with the gender of the baby you conceive.

Please be SANE with sodium, ladies. It's not good for your health or your fertility and one study even showed that rats fed high sodium intake had more GIRLS, not more boys. I strongly urge you to eat no more than 4000 mg a day.

Ions cannot sway gender because X and Y sperm do not have different electrical charges and cannot be attracted or repelled by ions in CM, newer research with modern technology completely debunked that idea. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/science-behind-gender-swaying/1562-what-real-differences-between-x-sperm-y-sperm.html

Oh thanks Atomic for clearing my misconceptions....just would like to be very clear that acidic and alkaline diets if does not alter the cm ph then why do we have different ph during ovulation...like this cycle I had cm ph of 6 and last cycle I had a cm ph of 4...what causes this huge difference..? and thanks God that the ionic concept is no more...cos it always used to get me so confused...

I know that it is best to get all the potassium from food but still to cover the missed portions I would like to take the supplements. Is potassium chloride 600mg is ok?

atomic sagebrush
June 30th, 2012, 01:53 PM
It's probable that hormones are making your CM thicker or drier and the natural pH of your vagina is then making you appear more acidic.

atomic sagebrush
June 30th, 2012, 01:57 PM
I would only take that much K unless under the advice and monitoring of a doctor. It's probably fine, but potassium can kill you.

The problem is that it's not known to be safe for pregnancy, so you have to start it and stop it suddenly at ovulation which is not safe.

Can you drink a coconut water instead? It has 600 mg potassium in it and it's in a form that your body can handle more easily - you can keep drinking it in pregnancy.

That is a great start Annita, plus you'll be getting potassium in meats and most of the foods you eat have some. :)

I will check in with you all occasionally, i just feel like i have to clear my head a bit, i cant just keep doing the same things over and over every month with no result :(

Cinss - you took the words right out of my mouth, and it would seem that this is a common feeling given some of the recent posts! makes me feel better to know I am not alone. I too have decided to shift my focus after 4 months of BFN's (and yeeeees - I know -- that is not long to try at all!) but I am literally piling on the weight and feeling like TTC blue is taking over my mind! On a very personal note, I am even starting to feel a little guilty about how I am not being 100% focussed on & enjoying my beautiful gals alot of the time becuase I am constantly distracted by what I should be eating, drinking and doing...
so I am going to concentrate on getting to a healthy, toned state again, where I feel good about myself, enjoy my beauties and then, if it feels right, we will try later tc.
Good luck to all you TTC blue's in July! I hope to see lots of BFP's whenever I log on!!!
TTC5 & Dloui - I pray that all goes well for you guys over the remainig months for your blue pregnancies! And Bec - can't wait to hear if blue, but above all that - hope you have a HHP!! will definitely be logging on to see all your updates!

Babyblessings and Cinss sorry to hear you will not be on the thread so often, hope you keep checking it as I have only recently discovered it over the past few months and think it's a great support mechanism I have had helpful comments from so many. I hope you enjoy a bit of time out and do not forget about us! I understand for all it can become a strong focus and a bit too stressful, I hope you achieve your dreams.

Cinss and babyblessings - Hopefully a beak will workout in your favor for a relaxed sway.

I am not really tracking my cycles as we had no plans for TTC for few more months. When i was tracking last year, the +OPKs are all over the chart. It is mainly due to Royal Jelly/Bee Pollen. My O was delayed for few days and the cycles became longer. I stopped after that. Did anyone had issues with RY/BP? Since i am not charting i do not want to mess my cycles..

Good luck to everyone TTC this month and best wishes to Cinss, baby blessings and POP I hope the break gives you time to recharge and :fingers: that it leads to BFPs in the future.

I am currently on day 14 of my first cycle off the pill and no sign of any EWCM. But I am also only on day 8 of taking my supps so I am hoping to see a big improvement next cycle.

Hi chitchat, I think it may have been too early to test as if you have a 14day LP then you would only be on day 7 post ov and it is usually 11-12 days after ov that the tests work.

GL BB and Cinss,
great idea to clear your head/body for a bit.

i am not planning to start ttc until sept., but the last few weeks dh has said he is not sure whether he wants to have another so I may be done before even starting. i def. don't want to if he doesn't, but then he also feels bad for me. it's like we both don't want the other to resent the other. I would get to be okay though because we are so blessed to have 1 boy and 3 girls and they are such joys. we'll see what happens, still waiting for AF to return anyway.
We are on a very slow internet during the summer(dial up), so can't really be on here much anyway so I am wishing all you ladies incredible blue dust!!

Pearl, when are you officially ttcing? next month? i know you were the other vegetarian. ttcing boy.
How are you doing with protein? I am still trying to eat healthier anyway just in case we do still ttc and include more protein and eat more frequently throughout the day, but def. find that and trying to get 30g is hard.

I am having a hard boiled egg in the am, then 1-2 pieces of fruit and then maybe some raisins/peanuts or a pice of homemade granola.
Then lunch at 2-3pm which is chips, lettuce, peppers, tomatoes, some cheese and avocado or a veggie burger(no more than 2x/week trying to keep soy down)
dinner is usually cereal with banana or yogurt, banana and peanut butter

Hi n710,

I will be TTC at the end of Sept/beginning of October ( if my cycles go back to being 26 days) I think I ov'ed 2 days ago as had the middlesmertz for about 1hr and my libedo came roaring back. poor DH doesn't know what hit him

I have no problem getting my protein up to the 70-90g mark. Which is a big improvement for me
When i get up first I have a homemade protein bar (I can post the recipe if you like) with a cup of OJ 15g
then in work at about 10am I have 50g homemade muesli with whole super milk and a chopped banana 13g
I keep 1oz of nuts on my desk that I pick at through out the day 7g protein I also have berries or sliced pineapple here too.
At 1 pm for lunch today i am having leftovers of spicy rice and a hard boiled egg 22g
At about 3.30pm I will have an afternoon snack of cottage cheese on rye with sliced tomato and coconut water 7g
Dinner this evening is a tofu stirfry with hoisin sauce and wholewheat noodles 20g with some mango frozen yogurt 3g
my pre bed snack hot chocolate with 2 dr kargs crispbreads 11g

Todays total 91g protein in about 2200 calories

I plan out all my meals at the weekend to make sure that I eat enough protein and veg without going overbord on the calories. I find this really helps.

I was going to sway for a boy, but then my father in law was diagnosed with a fatal disease that has genetic components and is more common among men with a lot of brothers and since I was ok with either gender, I decided to sway pink instead (i've made my peace with it now but at the time I was really quite upset and feeling I had doomed my sons to contracting the disease.) I kept it a secret from everyone so I didn't feel any pressure either way.

Pearl,

That's fantastic! I can't believe the variety. I think that's what I am havingf a hard time doing. I do have hard boiled egg, homemade granola and raisins & peanuts every day. Also I am trying to haave avocado and NYF 3/week. I would love your protein bar recipe and even if you felt like sharing your meals for a week:)

I think I am going to keep doing the diet/supps and see what happens with DH. we were also planning to start TTC late sept/Oct so if he feels like it, I will at least have the right blood sugar. Still gotta work at getting in calories in the am.

I am only able to be on GD 1/week during the summer because of our slow internet at in-laws camp

It sounds like you are eating the right foods maybe just not enough if you find it difficult to get to 30g protein. Hopefully your DH comes around and you are definitely right to keep up the diet and supps so you are ready to go if he changes his mind.

Thanks so much Pearl, I think I need to write it all down and plan a week at a time. That's a really good idea. Yeah, it's hard to find time to eat during the day before my kids' naps at 2ish-3ish pm.
FX DH changes his mind, but I am also trying to start feeling okay about it if he doesn't either. I am trying to view all the diet/supps right now as healthy changes I should be doing regardless of swaying right now.

Thanks for all the recipes, they look so good!

No Problem n710. Hope you enjoy them as much as my family do. I don't know how you last until 2-3pm. I would have wasted away by that stage. Even if you munch on 2 of the protein bars in that time you would have doubled your protein intake and they are easy to eat on the go. I have mine when I am getting myself up and dressed, DD up dressed and fed and gathering together my meals to take to work ( this is all done on a very tight 40 mins)

sorry Chit chat - as I was reminded on theis forum - another month is at least a longer time on all the swaying factors... good luck for the cycle! And all the best to your SIL!

TTC5, sorry! I have heard that a little magnesium in the late afternoon can help... perhaps check that its safe to take and try that?

Hi all - Pearl agree so so quiet!!

SIL OK thanks, still in one piece and still in hospital, every extra day and hopeful week helps before they have to deliver.

Good luck to all this month.

TTC5 - hope you manage to get some rest :-)

Pearl - good luck, any special diet, food tips on what you are eating?

that is terrible TTC5 have you tried going for a walk before bed. My mum has RLS and to manage it she has to do moderate exercise in the evenings, she doesn't drink caffeine after 3pm and she also goes for regular massages (which is another option if time and finances allow)

TTC5, I had horrible RLS during pregnancy also, and I did exactly what Pearl's mom does and it totally helped. I had to walk for a good hour a day and wear myself out, but it was all good stuff because I was in great shape.

HI All,

AF arrived today so I am delighted that my cycle has reverted to my normal 24-26 days. However as a result of pre AF I usually go off my food so I have just managed 2 snacks for the last few days and as a result my protein intake is down around the 70-80g this week and I have done no exercise since sunday. Must give myself a good kick up the arse later and get back on track.

Hey All, had to share because I am excited that I just got AF back this week! My daughter is 4 months old and I EBF, so wasn't sure how long it would take. I am/was hoping to try in Sept./Oct. so really wanted to get it soon and have a 2 cycles before TTCing to (not sure what-just seems like it's a good idea to get a regular cycle first). Hopefully my first cycle isn't some crazy 40-50 day thing FX

Anyway, this past week DH and I talked and he is seeming more favorable to trying so we'll see what happens.

I'm doing okay on the diet, still have to work on eating more in the morning and early afternoon, definitely the hardest thing for me.

I can still only get on the computer too on the weekends for the summer so it feels like so long until I am on here again, but GL to everyone trying this month!

GL to you girls swaying! I'm always thinking about you <3

n710, I had two postpartum cycles then conceived on the 3rd with this baby I'm preggers with. Mine weren't quite back to normal yet, though, I was still ovulating pretty late (for me). Are you going to be charting your cycles out? When will you start your LO on solids? My cycles were slower in coming back even with solids and pretty sure I wouldn't have been able to conceive the first two (6 day luteal phases on both), but the third was a charm <3 (hopefully a blue charm!) GL as you plan your sway!

Thankyou everyone:HH:
I'd love to even up the odds to 50/50, that way I can hopefully eliminate any gender comments in the future and just have the 'havent you got a telly?' ones:bigsmile:
Skrimpy, I'm usually around the same with my cycle returning, but I think I somehow brought on af mid june after stopping taking cranberry tablets for a bladder infection? I do not think I've oved though yet so it may be a hiccup. Baby Dave is such a sicky baby (just been referred to hospital) that I'm weaning him with baby rice atm as the meds just make him sick aswell, so the weaning will probably speed things up aswell:(

My thinking is, I'm officially gonna be NTNP, but I may aswell be boy friendly just in case. So I've started the fish oil and vit D daily and have been doing a little strength and toning using my favourite props- the kids:bigsmile: They're having a great time being chucked around again lol:) And I'm thinking more about what I eat 1) to try and get Davy some good milk and 2) to help sway. I should really get DH to start taking his pills again lol.

I sais I wouldnt be trying again until the house was sorted but I can always do that afterwards can't I:oops:

Love this ELP!! So your girl ratio is still more the boys? think I counted 5 girls and 4 boys but I could have counted wrong!! I think gving Davy a brother would be fab....and I'm going to live viacriously thru u...it would be so cool just to keep having 'em and see what happens, but I know 4 will be our absoulete max!

PoP I've missed you, how is the new job going?

It's going great, I absolutely love it. I have been concentrating on losing weight, getting fit and becoming healthy ready for next year. I figure if I completely change my lifestyle and eating habits then I have to naturally have a better chance of getting the gender opposite to what I have been producing in the past

Funny thing is though...that now I am not TTC for a year....my cycles are back to the perfect 28 days and I have so much EWCM it isn't even funny!! Ironic!!

I am secretly glad this thread is moving so slowly, I can actually keep (only able to check on weekends)

Woo hoo! DH is good with us TTCing 1 month Sept/early Oct. I'll take what I can get;)

He is doing crappy at trying to be healthy though and because it's summer he has definitely been drinking/smoking. I have REALLY asked him limit to the weekends, we'll see. He does remember to take his supps. half of the week, not that it matters too much, but who knows.

I am resigned to knowing his unhealthy habits put in the girl zone more, but I am happy to have another DD vs. not having another baby, just hoping for a DS for my one and only DS. He does feel a bit overwhelmed with 3 little sisters and begs me for a boy. Poor thing, he's 5 so doesn't fully get that Mommy and Daddy don't decide that.
Anyway I'm rambling-just happy to be able to do this in a bit.

TTC5, Are you due in Oct. My 2nd DD was born in Oct. (I have one in each season) and I loved the fall. My two oldest kids picked the fall leaves and we dried them. Then when she was born we did a little photo shoot with a brown fleece blanket, a couple pumpkins and those dried leaves. The older two still talk about collecting those leaves and the pics came out so nice. Not sure where you are

Skrimpy, that makes me feel so good. It should end up being my 3rd cycle too back while BFing. Although my first AF was only 3 days, weird for me, usually that first one back is heavier, not lighter, so I'll see what happens. I am charting, so I 'll see if there are any changes.

Anyone else have a really light AF after BFing?

Yes, I def. have. Some of them have been very light, almost nonexistant, and others have been terrible. The one after my first son, I thought was going to kill me (and I'm only half joking).

So I was a little bit bold on Friday night. After myself and DH sharing a bottle of wine while watching the opening ceramony of the olympics one thing led to another and we DTD without any thought to protection on CD10 for me. I usually ovulate on CD12 so I guess I will have to wait and see.

I know that October is the best time for me both personally and to be on the diet and supps longer. However when there is a chance, however small, I think I still hope that maybe....

But anyway I will put it out of my mind until I am actually TTC.
