I've been on the le diet for a few months now. I've been keeping in nutrition amounts, but for the last month i've been eating shop bought meringues to make up calories as they have such a small protein/fat content. I've also been eating other stuff not listed just to make up calorie amount ie. strawberry cables (sweets!!) as they have low fat/protein and calories are around 100.

I'm only eating them at meal times and skipping breakfast. I'm eating around 1600 cals a day and 30ish protein and keeping low fat. Don't count salt, but don't add it to anything. Do you think i've screwed up by adding stuff not listed, or is it ok as i've been sticking to low nutrients?? xx

Sounds absolutely fine to me! The LE diet doesn't have any specific food restrictions or food lists - anything goes as long as it fits within your daily limits and you're not snacking between meals. I ate tons of candy while on the diet. If I remember correctly, Zanacal was addicted to meringues while on the diet. Both of us got our girls!

Not at all! Adding new foods are fine (and please let us know if you find things that work for you so we can ALL use them! We're in this together.)

I do think you should up protein to 40 g if you can. 40 is the lowest normal range of protein - if you get less than that, it's not enough to sustain your body or a healthy pg.

I never counted sodium either and in fact I was getting quite a lot!!
