If so would you mind telling me how many times it took you to achieve your bfp and roughly how much you paid.

From what i have read i think we could manage possibly 2 cycles so am wondering what my chances are and whether its worth it, really really want a dd and want to know i've given it my best shot but no point in spending money if still not really got a chance.

We have 3 boys (7, 4, 2) all conceived naturally without really trying, ds1 a whoopsie (but best mistake ever, we'd only just brought our house so at the time a little chaotic lol), ds2 first month before we were starting to try just by not being careful, ds3 1-2 day cut off first month of trying. Me 30 (in aug), DH 33. Anyone any idea realistically of our chances

thank you so much for any advice

We have several at this point. lisvna has a thread on the public forum and many of those gals use or are using him and we have several that only post in the Member forum that use him- in fact, we have 2 people that are mid-cycle with him right now in the Dream Member HT forum. We have Cycle Stickies for each cycler so you can follow along with their cycle and we have past Cycle Diaries too that you could browse through. But, with his cost and sperm sort that he offers, we have quite a few that have gone to him now!

You pay for 2 cycles (packagedeal) ivf/pgd/spermsort 12000 euros.

so on top of that 12000 euro is travel hotels etc - what about medication - in £ does anyone have a final figure for what it cost them ? Thanks

lisvna
July 8th, 2012, 04:07 PM
You can do also a single cycle 6700 euros for ivf/pgd. 1200 for spermsort. 12000 euros is for 2 cycles. Medication is aprox 1000-1500 euros but it depends on your personal needs.

Hi

I'm 28 and had my first cycle with him in April. Transferred 3, ended up being a bfn, I have PCO (cysts on ovaries) which meant I had poor quality eggs and am currently on medication, going back in aug hopefully with better egg quality. :fingers:

lisvna
July 8th, 2012, 04:41 PM
Damienne you can buy a cycle single too! It's 6700 euros for ivf/pgd and 1200 euros for spermsort. This is without medication. So that's the risk in live! You have no guarantees! Ask Savvas how he deals with that.

Hi, just read the above and my situation is that I have completed all the tests and should be going to Cyprus in mid November.
Is there anyone else going at this time?
Just wondering if anyone has any advise...
...Hotels, flights, whether you took your children with you and how that worked out?
Any advise would be much appreciated!

Hi, Id recommend paying the small charge for becoming a full member as there is tons of info in the private international section about travelling, fee's, meds etc. Im going the end of the year and am having scans done in the Uk first with babybond, and pre-tests through privatebloodtests, then flying out on day 7 or 8 of my cycle so Savvas can do follicle tracking and check my meds are ok, staying for 15 or 16 nights and taking our children too. My OH will look after them while I pop to the clinic, app. There is a bakery there where he can take them for a snack etc. Or he can stay at the villa while I go. He will drop in his sample one day as only staying half an hour away from the clinic in pissouri bay. I would recommend becoming a dream member though as I don't post much in this bit for privacy as no one I know is aware of what we are doing

When you received treatment and PDG was carried out were checks carried out on the chromosomes to preventing the transmission of genetic disorders in addition to determining the gender?

Genesis test 5 chromosomes, 1 being gender.

Nbp I think this statement sounds a bit unfair and not sure if that is a true statistic? I have been going through this process since rugby team, who was a one hit wonder. And every time I have been out, there has been a bfp for my bfn. I would imagine gennesis reflects the average sats for ivf.

I'm sorry if I sound harsh. I am not sure when rugby team cycled but I'm happy to add anyone to the BFP list.

I am reporting what we have seen on here and we do the same for all clinics.

There were 28 BFN cycles from Genesis on here in 2012. 1 gender opposite and 5 BFPs. Thats 12% success on here.

If there are other BFPs, we are more than happy to include them but it is simply reporting facts and that's it.

No, there is no IUI option anymore. IVF only. Microsort was a specific way of sorting the X an Y sperm using dye and laser technology. There are other doctors that use a "sort" that is mostly like Ericcson.

lisvna
April 12th, 2013, 05:53 PM
Dr Savvas has its own sort it's not Ericsson it's something else. You can ask if he wants to do iui but I doubt he will offer it because succes rates are very low.

Hi,
I'm cycling with Savvas at Genesis in August. I think I've just seen someone else doing the same. We are going for 3 weeks and having a family holiday. Staying for 1 week on north coast, then 2 weeks NW of Limassol. Trying for boy to add to 3 girls. Disappointed with your stats, but couldn't afford to go to US at this short notice.

Hi girls just popping on the forum for a nosey. I had 2 cycles with savvas first being through rainsbury. Savvas is an amazing man which is why I named my daughter after him. I do believe a lot of this process really is down to luck. Although still worried I was a lot more relaxed second cycle. And also I knew what to expect. I know what your all going through, I used to be on the Internet all night researching sometimes. Please pm me if it helps you. And big good lucks to you all!! X

Hi, I was stupid enough to go to Genesis 4 times last year. I used my own eggs twice, got good quality embryos but did not get pregnant. Then tried donor eggs (good quality fresh and frozen embryos). The clinic gave me 95% success rate with donor eggs. Did not get pregnant. The doctor was very positive every time telling me: I am 99% sure you will get pregnant this time (to make sure I would come back), and he acted very surprised when I gave him the negative results. After the third attempt I started getting very suspicious and when I came to the clinic the fourth time for the frozen embryo transfer we both knew it wouldn't work.
The doctor didn't want to discuss the negative outcome in the clinic wanting to wait for the blood test results (of course it's easier for him to send an email to a very disappointed patient). And now he doesn't even want to explain how come none of the good quality embryos didn't attach, blaming my uterus causing trouble. Shouldn't a doctor check if a uterus is good enough to be able to carry a pregnancy before IVF? (I have 2 kids from normal conceptions and no fertility problems)
So after paying 25 000 Euro to the clinic (not including hotels, tickets, medicines, ultra sounds) I didn't even get a proper explanation why it didn't work and now he doesn't really want to deal with me.
I liked him in the beginning, seemed like a professional doctor. Now I am really wondering if I ever had anything transferred at all. Did anybody get pregnant there?

May 19th, 2014, 04:36 PM
Yes - I did, as have a number of others on this site, including someone who got pregnant last week (it was her third attempt). I'm so sorry you weren't lucky, as this journey is an emotional and financial rollercoaster and I do think HT, certainly with FISH testing, is down to luck as some people have been back to Savvas a few times and not had success (with both their own and DE's), whilst others have been successful - it does usually take longer though than US clinics with full testing though.

I think I was very lucky as did 2 cycles with Savvas and got pregnant both times - first with my own eggs but sadly had a m/c at 9 weeks and second time with a tandem cycle (my egg/Donor egg ). Personally, I had a good experience and found him very professional and honest. However, his success rates are only around 35% on this site, unlike some US clinics that are around 75%. I really hope you are able to cycle elsewhere with a different protocol and full testing and then hopefully you will get you DG. Good luck. x

May 19th, 2014, 04:38 PM
Hi Egreta. Sorry to hear about your outcome. We have had success from this clinic and it's one of the only clinics available internationally so that makes it the only realistic option for many on here.

How old are you? Over 40?

We have seen success rates be in the mid 30% from cyclers on here. Many people do cycle 3,4,5 times there before they find success though. A OHW is very rare.

Some do succeed. You will find them in the Dream Member Private forums if you care to join.

Are you going to try again elsewhere? There's another European option and of course the US.

lisvna
May 19th, 2014, 05:13 PM
I did get pregnant on second attempt with our HT son (originally wanted a girl). All pretestings were good. So I'm ever grateful to him for that. After our son was born we tried for a girl but we didn't succeed: 2 cancels and 1 NT (still all my pretestings are good). Savvas can't give me a proper answer why it doesn't work and every time he is surprised with my case of not working......I'm trying from 2011....

lisvna
May 19th, 2014, 05:21 PM
Btw what's the reason that DE don't stick? I have heard more DE cases at Savvas that doesn't work....I assume DE are from proven donors so it must work right?

Egreta
June 29th, 2014, 06:05 PM
I was 34 at the time. Before I try somewhere else again I need to find out what went wrong, unfortunately Savvas doesn't give me any information. I don't even know what he tested our embryos for during PGD. Or did he do PGS instead? How many chromosomes did he test? I know nothing. I think after paying crazy money he could give his patient some answers. But he is not very interested in patients with negative outcomes.

Hi ALL!!
I am not the mother myself and understand women's desperate desire to become a mother! its very important for you not to give up and believe that youll do it! thoughts are material, we should remember that ! I understand how difficult it is for somebody who has to understand such a huge amount of information about IVF, clinics, etc.
want to tell you a story which happened not to me, but with my sister. She is 41 years old, at 38 she was diagnosed with infertility..it was followed by months of exhausting expensive treatment , which brought no results. the family of my sister was already on the brink of divorce, when they were advised to do the IVF procedure..of course at first they did not really believe that it would help them, and the prices of such treatment are now very high and just few guarantees for success! specialists in this field advised them Spanish clinic IEGRA. turning down there, sister found out that the price is acceptable ( 14 900 euros), and there are 8 attempts to get pregnant! and if all attempts failed, the money will return. and in our time this proposal was simply fantastic) and they tried, and already with 3th attempt my sister got pregnant and its a year that she is a happy mother of a beautiful baby girl! and Im a crazy aunt)))
if somebody need it and want to get more inf I leave some contacts here - e-mail: uk@iegratrestorres.net, tel. +44 (203) 411-45-85 ( very mannered and educated manager Elena), and facebook page : https://www.facebook.com/people/Elena-Iegra-Tres-Torres/100008188119648
HOPE it wil help you all!!!))))

Egreta, I'm so sorry it didn't work for you. Savvas mainly does FISH 5 probe testing (if you had full 24 chromosome testing, you would have paid extra as he doesn't do this at his clinic at the moment). Did he not email you pictures of your embies or give you the information how many were retrieved, fertilised, normal, abnormal and the quality of those transferred or frozen. I've had 2 cycles with him and got this information each time as I know other people on here have done as well. What was your pre-testing like? What was you lining like at transfer and how many did you transfer and what quality? He can certainly be vague and not to good at communicating at times but when you are at the clinic I've always found him very good and professional and absolutely up for answering all of these questions.

Hello and welcome. I have used Savvas and now have my DD as do a number of others on this site who have also used him. He is professional and you can openly discuss GS with him. However, his success rates aren't that good and there now appears to be a better option in Europe in the Czech Republic. GS is not legal there but many people on here have recently cycled are cycling with the clinic and all have been able to transfer embryo's of their desired gender. It is much cheaper than Cyprus, they offer full 24 chromosome testing, which hugely increases your chance of IVF working and seem to be having great results, certainly on this site at present. If you put Clinic R into the search engine you should be able to follow people that have cycled there and get more info. Good luck and I really hope you get your DD. xx

What about other treatment for the purpose? Was the clinic reliable in general, do you think? How long did you have to stay in Cyprus? How many cycles did you do or how many tries did it take you to succeed? Thank you in advance :)

Hi ladies

has anyone had experience with using donor eggs at Genesis?

I'm planning on going in January (providing my egg donors pre testing is good) but have been looking through lots of the threads on GD site and am now a bit worried about it. The odds are not looking as good as I'd hoped.

He gave me a 90 percent sucses and almost garenteed with a double implantation (using donor eggs)

I had bad pre testing (low ovarian reserve) which is why I have decided to use a donor. I can only afford one shot and am desperate to be a mum so this seemed the best option.

I can't find much info on other clinics in Europe, does anyone know of anywhere with better odds? (Other than he us, unfortunately can't afford to go there)

Hi there,

Love to know more about Genesis - seeking PGD with Donor egg with sperm sorting and PGD - we have 2 girls already and seeking a boy. So its family balancing as opposed to medical based gender selection - will Genesis still help? We did on PGD/Microsort in TM north cyprus - which we will not repeat again!

How did it go, did the doctor give you confidence? Is it professional and serious? Does it strictly comply with the treatments? Is it effective? Excuse me? I thought I chose to go and it is difficult to know. Thank you
