Anyone out there considering Ericcson? We may be doing it in September...

Personally, I think it is a big waste of money. The limited data shows increased success for boys for whatever reason.

If you try it, I would plan on 3 cycles to conceive. IUI rates are pretty low. You can use Microsort in Mexico.

I am starting to chicken out - I have the clomid so I may just use that as part of a general sway. I am really concerned about multiples from the IUI too as I previously had a spontaneous triplet pregnancy (lost two and have one DS from it).

sorry to hear about your losses :(

I'm sure you're already aware that the clomid will increase chances of multiples too, do you need clomid to conceive?

Clomid is prescribed with the ericcson method - I don't need it to get preggers.

Whoa. That would make me nervous too. I'm all for trying something that makes you feel like you are doing something rather than nothing to increase your odds. You can do a natural IUI but they just say the odds are pretty low. If it isn't expensive and you can give it 3 tries or so, go for it.

I understand Clomid is used with Erricson but you said you were thinking of using it as part of a general sway so thats why I asked.

I was going to try Ericcson last year, but after I met with the physician was just so discouraged. There was not much success in his numbers and it appeared as if I would have to try multiple times. This particular doctor kept pushing IVF.

I was thinking about this last night and unless you're going to be closely monitored, I'm not sure I would do the Clomid, Ericcson or no. They should do an ultrasound to make sure you're not hyperovulating before you either are inseminated or DTD. I don't want you to end up as Octomom 2! :)
