Im a little embarrassed to ask this as Im sure the answer is somewhere obvious and I just cant find it.....I have read that it is important to keep blood sugar low during the 2 ww wait. I was assuming that once an egg was fertilized by either a female or male sperm, that was it. Can this change? Or is keeping blood sugar low in case you do not get pg and so as not to blow the diet if you are to try again the next month?

Not stuffing up the diet in case of a BFN is one reason and the second reason is apparently fertilized female eggs implant better in a low glucose environment

It's on here of course but it never hurts to ask anything you're wondering about, because if you're wondering, so are 20 other people who are just too shy to ask!
XX fertilized eggs develop better in a low glucose environment than XY do - XX are more efficient at absorbing glucose from their surroundings than XY are, so XY needs higher glucose in order to be able to absorb enough. Some evidence indicates that higher levels of glucose may even inhibit XX from developing, because they're so good at sucking it up that if the levels are very high, they could possibly suck up TOO much (no one likes super high glucose levels). This is AFTER fertilization - glucose is present in your CM and other fluids in your Fallopian Tubes and uterus and the little egg floats around in there and actually absorbs the glucose it needs to fuel its development from those fluids. This is by far the best proven aspect of gender swaying, with researchers in a lab actually witnessing XX and XY absorbing different levels of glucose from the environment and they are able to tell the difference between XX and XY based on nothing more than the amount of glucose they absorb.
It doesn't make any sense to do all this stuff to try and conceive XX unless we're going to do what it takes to optimize development of that little XX after fertilization, so we need to try to keep sugar levels on the low side until implantation, at which point the bean starts to absorb nutrients from your blood****** and not from the surrounding fluids.
Plus, the additional benefit is that if you get BFN you haven't thrown the whole diet out the window - if we're trying to do diet for 6 weeks-90 days before we start TTC, it doesn't make a heap of sense to then spend 2 weeks out of the month eating whatever we want to.

A cheat here or there won't hurt anything, it's suddenly switching from LE Diet to a huge 2 week binge that is not a good idea. Aside from the blood sugar, suddenly and drastically increasing sodium and protein intake may not be good for your body or your baby's, either.

Wow, that's great info! We have just tried our first attempt this month to ttc girl and I'm in the 2ww now. Now I realize I have really cheated the day or two after ovulation....ate a pizza, jam doughnut and muffin...so yummy I couldn't resist anymore :drama: I have been such a naughty girl!!! Now i'm back to my diet of course especially as I don't think I'm pregnant, don't have any pg symptoms at all. Guess I'll have to wait for quite some time for my next Doughnut then!!!

One doughnut is ok, going out to an all you can eat buffet and staying for 4 hours every day during the 2WW is probably best avoided!!
