18 week surprise ultrasound...better pics...please guess...

soo....all has been revealed today regarding whether there are 1 or 2 in there and yep there is only 1...and for the first time in 5 pregnancies....a normal size one......

i had my glucose tollerance test today and whilst there spoke to the midwife about my concerns that i couldn't feel the baby move at all yet and that i keep hearing 2 heartbeats...well....i thought she will do a doppler and then examine me but instead i got a bonus ulteasound..yeah....i saw my peanut today.....i cannot claim i could tell what it was because my focus was if the baby was alive and kicking......and i didn't want change the topic from genuine viability worry to mere gender concern to the midwife so kept looking at the image for heartbeat and movement although gazing at the important parts too form time to time...;)...i have to admit i didn't see any 'real' gender clues.....neither boy or girl...although assumed i saw alot of lines now and again...but maybe that is what i wanted to see so it could be in my head... ???? hence, i canot truly claim i know what i think it may because it may be too good to be true.....and no point getting ahead of myself...since nothing is really confirmed.....20 week scan in 2 weeks time but no intention to find out......i think....

:) reason why i am smiling.......i didn't see any boy clues either..and tbh i rather not see any kind of clues and prefer not to know what it is....then see any hint of something if you know what i mean!!!

Can you shrink them? I can't see them because they're too large.

My thinking is that if you can't see boy bits that's a good sign, but I wouldn't paint the nursery if you know what I mean.

I have a shot of my 3yo like this and you can very clearly see his boy bits - I don't see that on yours. I did see "lines" a lot during his ultrasound (not this particular angle shot, though). I would agree with Atomic and lean girl, but not go buying anything unless you get it confirmed.

I can post up my boy pic from this overhead angle if you'd like to compare.

so here is what i think i could see......the shin bones are visibale due to the knees bent onto the chest. looking at baby head on from above. the big question is whether those are the labia lines or the chord? you can even see the feet bent in....i tried to show this....do have another look at my illustration and that of the actual scan....thanks girls... i did see these lines alot...but i am not sure how accurate i will be at 18 weeks....been told by tech after when i caually asked if she knew what it may be..that it needed a better machine to be abl to tell....

btw thought sickness will end by now it kicked off all over again the last 4 days....had another vomiting episode this morning!!!!!! no wonder this baby is not growing as much as any of my others......!!!!!! if this is a boy it will be an elf!!!lol..this comes form a mum whose heavist baby was 11pounds!!!!!!!! and i am only petit!!!hence why i do the glucose test....my babies range from 9.7lb-11lb!!!! by 20 weeks i look more like i am 8 months gone.....so this one i am only just getting my bump. so far baby measuring to date....

awww girls thanks so much....SORRY FOR A BEING A PEST.....lol...but you know how it is it is almost my countown now to see my baby for the final time until birth at my 20 week scan....i would LOVE t find out any day if i had a very strong pic that it is most probably girl rather than boy.....but i don;t all my pics at 10.5 weeks and this one now are dubious in one way or another.....i have to admit i am that little bit more hopeful as i did look alot but just couldn't make out a willy or boy bits during the scan....with my boys it was obvious as soon as you went to the legs.....so this gives me that little bit more confidance. i mean i could have come on here yesterday giving you a really clear indication it could be more boy than girl so it is nice that it is more girl than boy.....whatever the real result is....

i am still in two minds whether i want to find out on the 16th when my 20 weeks scan is....but will see...i may ask them to be extra careful not to go to the legs...as i rather really not know then know now it is a boy....

all i can do is hope.....i do rmember seeing people' s scans like this one so many times i would have def said to anyone else that i was positive this is a girl.....no doubt about it.....yet here i am and since it is mine i cannot make myself say the same thing.....i wouldn;t know how i would react if this was my second DD, i would be over the moon i guess and would finally come to peace with the whole pregnancy thing...

and trust me seeing so many shots like this one in the past on other people's scans and now that i am searching to find someto compare mine to i cannot find one!!!!!

This scan also looks girl to me..like there might be a labia hiding between those two lines..!
