Hi,
Another diet question, for those TTC blue who ate a lot of cereal, did you use full fat milk or? Rice milk or?? Did you just follow the HE diet and not worry about the calcium and magnesium intake?
HELP!
Thanks so much!

I actually purposefully added dairy back in (on Atomic's advice) when I started losing weight after eliminating it. I added all full fat dairy back, my weight levelized...and I got my boy!

I used skim milk or almond milk because that is just what I prefer and what everyone in my house drinks

Thanks everyone!
I LOVE cereal so this one for me is easy to do.
I think its any kind of cereal, or for TTC blue is a specific one??
There is so much info so I try to read it all but sometimes miss a topic here or there!

I really only ate cereal at night for a snack and I tried to eat ones that had whole grains and protein in it

I used full fat dairy and that's what I'd recommend. I tried to stay away from cereal as it's really not nutrient dense - went with oatmeal or eggs instead for breakfast! I added cream, butter, etc. to the oatmeal to fill it with more nutrients.

I always had 2% milk on everything, eaten tons of dairy every day, and gotten 4 boys over 20 years doing that. My husband typically drinks a quart of milk a day.
Then both my husband and I ate barely any dairy and we got DD.

Wholegrain cereals are best and if you can find a kind with oats, nuts, dry fruit, those are all fab!!!

I am using coconut or almond milk only because I don't like the taste of cow's milk. I do eat yogurt and cheese pretty much every day.
I def. stay away from "kid's" cereal

Corn flakes are not super great for TTC blue as a general rule (they burn off too quickly) but the whole milk more than makes up for it!! :agree: anything with whole milk will sway blue! Thx for sharing.

I think raisin bran is good. At least that is what I have been eating. I usually mix it with Honey Bunches of Oats just because I really like that cereal. I will also mix it with Life, granola, Crunchy Nut, Chex, etc. I also slice a banana on top as well. I think the less sugar the better, so mine are probably high on the sugar side. I would think the Kashi cereals would be really good.

Granola type cereals with dried fruit, nuts are good. I ate a cereal called Alpen every morning, delicious...and got my boy!

I was living on smoothies for breakfast. I would soak oats in water then add greek yogurt, frozen berries or banana and some protein powder. Not sure if it payed off just yet but so yummy and filling you can also add nuts if you like.

Anything whole grain and if it has oats/nuts/dried fruit, even better. I got DS 3 eating this - has oats, pumpkin seeds, and flaxseed Nature's Path Organic Flax Plus Pumpkin Granola Cereal, 11.5-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6): Amazon.com: Grocery & Gourmet Food (http://www.amazon.com/Natures-Path-Organic-Pumpkin-11-5-Ounce/dp/B001EO5RFE) They have it at Costco for much cheaper.
Watch out for some of the super high protein ones because they add soy protein to make their protein higher.

They would be ok as long as you have some protein with it

My breakfast mostly consists of Honey bunches of oats (the ones with almonds) whole milk or sometimes I have Quaker oatmeal .. and always have fresh rasberries, strawberries, blackberries, 1 banana and 1 raw egg smoothie.. ( can we add 2 raw eggs? i wasnt sure if whey protein is good??)
should i change the honey bunches of oats to a more wholegrain based cereal???

Oooo that's great!! So should I leave off the whey protein and stick to raw eggs? I just like the fact I can get 2servings of eggs.. Plus the fruits..

I was eating oat flakes with full fat yogurt (3.2% fat), mashed banana and sometimes I added dried figs or raisins. I thought yogurt was covering the protein part so I was obviously wrong.

HBOO is ok as long as you have it with full fat milk. It's not the BEST, but it's ok.
Def go with two eggs, but be careful with raw eggs due to the salmonella risk.
Whey protein is ok, skip soy protein. Natural proteins (like meat, eggs, dairy, nuts, legumes) are better than processed whey proteins.

Well, that's a good breakfast so I suspect you got a girl in spite of it.

I have a thread about cereal in the Dream Members section for anyone interested.
Anything whole grain is great and if it involves oats, even better.
