Hi everyone! I am ttc girl and just got my pp AF back las week ( I am currently bf my 6 month old). I decided ti ease into the diet bc of the breastfeeding. I stopped eating all meat in June and stopped eating breakfast last week. Anyway since cutting out breakfast I notice I am drinking more caffeine. So his much caffeine is too much when ttc a girl?

The best data we have indicates that moderate caffeine does not sway either direction and higher than normal caff intake may even sway pink. While excessive caff intake is not good for pg, you are free to use a sane level of caff and many of us have found that it helps us stick to the diet to include caff. in our sway.
I got my DD with both my husband and I drinking the most caff we've ever conceived at, by far.

I'm curious, Atomic - if we drink loads of caffeine while swaying, should we cut back once we're in the 2WW? I tend to get awful headaches from caffeine withdrawal, so I'm afraid of stopping it cold turkey, but I also don't want to harm a possible conception from happening by drinking lots of caffeine in the 2WW. What are your thoughts?
Also, how does NO caffeine sway? I'd love to cut the caffeine out altogether for my sway, but then I remember that I did that before conceiving both of my DS's, so it makes me nervous to do the same thing. Although, I was swaying hard for blue in other ways without even knowing it at the time.

No caff would sway blue (or simply NOT sway at all) because it wouldn't affect your fertility negatively.
Whether or not to cut back on caff is your call to make. I know that there are studies that show increased risk of m/c with caff intake, but I personally think that other factors are way, way more critical (like folic acid, maternal age, etc). I think it's fine to switch to a reasonable amount of caff until you're sure you're not pg.
It's not that I'm advising people increase caff to unsafe or unhealthy levels for pink, I'm just saying you don't need to avoid it, and higher than usual caff intake did seem to get me a daughter.

Atomic, can I ask how many cups per day you used to have when you conceived your daughter please? On average of course. And does decaffinated coffee counts? Thanks.

I was curious too about how much you drank Atomic. Also wondering if milk (or in my case, rice milk) added is enough to raise blood sugar if I'm drinking a cup between meals or in the morning.

4 plus pop and a couple of times more - that whole month before I conceived her I was a zombie after my son had been in the hospital - I was up for 3 days straight in early Nov. and I never caught up until Thanksgiving (after I conceived)

Ideally, you wouldn't, but I always put milk in my coffee. Cream may be better for blood sugar levels because it has very few carbs. I wouldn't worry too much over it, though - as long as you don't eat anything else, your blood sugar will soon drop.
