I have heard that sometimes when pregnant with a girl you might get a BFP sooner than with a boy. Has anyone else heard of this or had personal experience?

I got my BFP with my son at 10 DPO so I am wishfully thinking that if I caught the egg this cycle that maybe I will get a BFP :pregnant: at 8 DPO. I'd love to hear others experiences to see if there might be any truth to this theory.

I started using FR tests at 6dpo... At 7dpo i swear I saw something, By 9dpo I did have a very faint line. I am having a boy. GL

Well so far it sounds like it doesn't make any difference. I can't remember where I read it to begin with, so it was most likely hog wash or just an old wives tale or something. Thanks for the input ladies.

Never heard this.
I took Tests after my period was due and with both boys my lines were really faint.

I took a test with DS2 a day before my period, so probably 11dpo and it was very faint.

I have heard this too......which is why I thought DS2 was going to be a girl. I got my BFP with him at 10dpo. With my first son- I didn't get a BFP till 17dpo.

I'm so glad you had heard of this also!! I was starting to think maybe I just made it up, because I can't for the life of me remember where I originally saw the information. Thanks for making me feel better. :Flower:

positive pregnancy tests depend on when you implanted, so it's impossible to tell based on that. However, IF girls cause more HCG it may be something that you can see based on the blood test numbers a few days after implantation?

Here is a study done on it, based on HCG at 10-13 weeks:
hCG levels and gender of the fetus | BabyMed.com (http://www.babymed.com/pregnancy-news/hcg-levels-and-gender-fetus)

I think it's also the reason they speculate that morning sickness is commonly worse with girl pregnancies.
