View Full Version : What was your BD frequency when you conceived, and what gender was your child?

I am still beating myself up for not DTD enough when we swayed boy. I am still team green, but I am feeling very strongly that I am carrying a girl, and if I am, BD frequency is my #1 regret with my sway. We were trying for every other day, which would have resulted in 3x of DTD before conception; but I may have O'ed early, which would then make it only 2x. I will never know for sure.

Please share your stories with me!

We did very frequent BDing, everyday for about 12 days. We were trying for a girl though. We also stopped days before ovulation. When I got pregnant with my boys we DTD right around ovulation time and I had an orgasm. I do not know the current sex of this baby by the way.

Hobber you are so close to having your sweet baby in your arms <3

With our successful blue sway, our 3yo, we DTD ONCE during the fertile period. We were too busy moving the rest of the time. HE is a one hit wonder!

You are so freaking strong to have made it so far without finding out! You're awesome!

When I conceived both my boys we DTD once on day +OPK or (O-1). With my little girl, I'm carrying now, we DTD once on day of Ovulation (O+12).

Skrimpy, what about your other boys?

I didn't chart then, but I suspect they were also one-hit wonders as their dad came home to get what he wanted about once a month, then left  I also suspect it must have been right at ovulation because only pheromones could have kept him home with us long enough for me to get pregnant.

I think we had a OHW, even though we were swaying blue. We were travelling, and managed to squeeze in BDs at O-8 and O-3, and I didn't know about FR. But we still got our boy! GOOD LUCK!

Oh yah...meant to ask...why do you think girl? Just a gut feeling?

DS1 and DS2 pull out accidents on O day
DD1 3 days before O and O day itself (no pull out.) I don't really believe in frequency (but you know this), I really believe in lifestyle/maternal conditions.

And I really do feel it's a boy! I think he's going to be so adorable and crunchy!

Those of you with both genders, if you haven't told me already, what was the difference in your BD frequency (if there was any?)

DD1 was a cut off but we did it everyday right from when AF ended to about 2 days before O
DD2 I am not quite sure because she was a surpirse but we were DTD alot

We weren't swaying with DD, we were DTD about twice a week, then I planned to DTD on CD14 (she was a OHW). DS was O-8 and O-3 with no FR/abstain/cutoff. So no real difference between the two. Personally I think diet is the biggest factor in swaying.

AND, I wanted to share that I was convinced that DD was a boy from day one, and didn't believe she was a girl until the second ultrasound. For DS, I KNEW he was a boy from the beginning. So I'm only 50/50 on the gut feelings! GL tho Hobber, I'll be stalking you!

Gut feeling. Really strong gut feeling. :(

On the day of my BFP my gut said GIRL
then once my scan approached the GD set in and I started to feel....why would I be that lucky, perhaps I will end up with a 4th and it will be my DD. When I saw my baby on U/S at my crappy doc scan I felt GIRL again..
I think that sometimes the GD feeling...the dread...the setting yourself up for disappointment negative feeling can actually overtake your REAL gut feeling and you can actually confuse the two.
I wouldn't set yourself on anything....just enjoy the last couple-few weeks of your pregnancy and the sensations of baby moving and such and I think you will be VERY excited to meet your sweet little SURPRISE here very soon.
I just want you to cheer up!

I did a 3 day cut off (for Shettles) That was a Wednesday...
and then I think I Oed the following Sunday... and the next day Mon afternoonish..DH and I just couldn't help ourselves and were just going to do pull out...but HE forgot and actually got a couple shots in there. I ran and did jump and dump and washed like crazy but...
We got DS#2! ;)

Hobber with DD2 she was a 5 day cutoff with a lot of BD'ing in the days leading up to it...then total cutoff. I don't know what's going on with DH's overly enthusiastic swimmers.

DD1 I'm really not sure timing in relation to O (was not charting). I know there was a LOT of BD'ing b/c her dad was in town for only a few days to visit me at that point (I was in college). I sort of feel like it may have been an O+12 conception b/c I was really kinda late in my cycle. But maybe my cycles weren't as regular at that point, I'm not sure I really paid attention too much in college!! Lots of BD'ing though.

With DS1, we weren't DTD a lot at all and prob were only BD'ing 1-2 times a week. We had an oops moment the day before O.

With DS2, we DTD CD6, CD8, CD10, CD11, and CD14 - I O'd on CD14.

DS 1 we were dating kinda hot and heavy but hadn't DTD yet, we tried once but it didn't go very well because DH was nervous. We decided to chance it one time (I had seriously just gotten off AF 2 days before and I thought I'd be safe). Then we decided maybe we should wait awhile longer before making it a regular event, and didn't DTD again for over a week. I think DH was helping himself regularly beforehand because we were making out a lot and not completing the transaction LOL. (yes, I got pg the very first time we had actual sex.) So one attempt with a long cutoff, even if I Oed 2 days early (which I never have since then!!) it had to still be a 2 or 3 day cutoff.

DS 2 we were TTC for two months, the first month we BD through O but I didn't get pg. The second month, we TTC twice and then DH changed his mind before I Oed, at least 3-4 days and unlike with DS 1 I knew when I ovulated and I thought I had no chance but I was still pg.

DS 3 we TTC for two months, first month I was under a huge amount of stress at work and didn't get pg even though we BD through O. Second month my husband was going to be away for the weekend when I Oed and I thought that was all good because I had heard about Shettles and was hoping for a girl that time. So we BD I think 3 times the week before and then he left for the weekend and I Oed sometime late that weekend.

DS 4 is a mystery because we were TTC but I wasn't getting AF from breastfeeding, and didn't even know I ovulated, I was testing pH 3-4 times a day and my pH never went up and I never saw any CM at all. We weren't DTD that much (for us) and the week I had to have conceived him I think it was only 2 times, separated by several days, so pretty much just one attempt on that.

DD my son had been in the hospital early in the month and we had had no sleep and were both exhausted, so not a lot of BD going on. We DTD the week before I was due to ovulate, then nothing that whole entire week (I kept trying to get DH to DTD but he wasn't having it, or else someone would wake up right at the wrong time - remember, we weren't really even trying, just not preventing, and with a 1% chance of having a baby at 41 I wasn't that interested in forcing the issue becasue I didn't think it would happen anyway.) He finally gave in on Thurs. (5 days later) and I didn't expect to O until Sun. and thought I had no chance but I ended up Oing early because I stopped taking Vitex. I Oed Friday, confirmed by ultrasound, and we didn't DTD again until Monday.

I have gotten both boys and girls with 1 attempt!!

with our DD we were BDing every day. The day I think we conceived I was on top - hadn't O'd yet and he accidentally o'd. I think he was exhausted from the every day BD lol.
