I have been debating for a while whether to jump or dump on our attempts. I would love to get pregnant this month, BUT I can wait if jumping and dumping would increase my chances for a girl but lower my chances for getting pregnant. Also not sure if I should do 1 or more attempts?

so what do you ladies plan on doing? or what did you do when you got pregnant? Advice please!!

Hi! We plan on doing multiple attempts :)
I am not good at dieting and after next o I have so many family functions/trips etc that I know my diet has a good chance of falling apart, and if diet is the MOST important thing I figure I am better off to increase my chances of getting preg while following the diet strictly and losing weight!
As for jump and dump, I haven't really thought much about it so I'd like to see what the other ladies have to say. I will maybe just wait 5 mins or so.

Jump and dump does sway girl as it limits the number of sperm to fertilise the egg but it does signifcantly limit your chances of getting preggers. Although as cvd says diet is the most important sway factor and this is only one piece of the puzzle. If you are doing rephresh etc this will also limit your chances so you need to balance what you doing against how quick you want to get pg.

I've been on diet for 7 weeks and this last week has been really hard, have been trying to be really strict and barely ate anything apart from plain pasta, rice and a dairlea sandwich and am getting fed up of it. The chances of me keeping it up without letting it go for months are slim.

Frequent attempts will detract from your girl sway, AS recommended to me one attempt at opk a month for first few months which again limits your chances of pg.

How easy is the diet for you and how easily are you sticking to everything else (apart from anything else its costing us about £20 to £30 a month in supplements not metion opk digis and preggie tests). You then have to balance out whats best for you and what you can live with (if you want a girl (not a baby) and can be strict for months then do it all and drop out one at a time if you don't catch after a few months).

For us this month we did the diet, aspirin every 3 days, sp and vitex af to o, folic acid, cetirizine from day 9 onwards (i usually get my opk + on cd14 to cd16 although i o'd early this month), rephresh every 3 days from cd6 with the last one the morning of my opk+. DH did cranberry twice a day and lr 3 times a day. We did fr from cd2 onwards every day. I got opk+ on cd12 we dtd that night no j&d but because i didn't want to miss it this month and i was worried it might be a fake o (as i had one the month or two before) or delayed we also dtd cd13 but this time i lay still for a few minutes then j&d (SET).

No idea if i'm pg yet as that was only yesterday but we did the extra time (although i was unsure) as i didn't want to waste the month if i o'd late at least we'd still get a chance at the egg.

With my m/c (successful girl sway) we did multiple attempts and j&d. I was on LE diet, and taking cranberry and that was it. I decided to do the diet and bd through O and then leave it up to the gods. I had a strong feeling that if I relaxed my thinking of how to conceive a DD that I would be successful. Not sure if I was just lucky.....or not given I m/c. We are continuing ttc this way.

As a general rule, if you're doing one attempt I think you should lay flat for at least 5 minutes. If doing several attempts, you may want to J and D.

I do think J and D may raise odds of pink a bit, but cuts down odds of conception A LOT. I didn't J and D when I conceived DD. I had been J and D for months and didn't get pg and then the one month I stayed in bed and just fell asleep, was teh month I finally got pg.

Thank everyone for your input. I think we are going to just do one attempt this month.. I will lay there 5-10 mins and then get up and go to the bathroom. We will see how it works. I may not do that next month if I don't get pregnant this month!
