So petal how are the ht plans going? I must admit I tempted to try for my girl one last time, but now the opportunity to send the boys to private school, not sure I should risk them losing out on such a great opportunity. I went to a cr@p school but I did well, so did my sister. But you are pushed hard at private school. Great if your self discipline is low. Still I have years to ponder the pros and cons.

Hey maybe, yeah its a tough choice to make, my sister in law and her sister went to private school and they both work in a supermarket!! I think you can do well in in any school aslong as you want to, but... when its your child and you have that chioce to potentially change their lives its very difficult, what does dh say?
HT plans seem to be falling into place, got pre-testing in november, start bcp 1st dec, fly out feb half term and the rest......??? lol.
I still think you should come with us he he x x

I need to get more chatty on here!! Been struggling a little bit the last week as although im still not big, i feel like my lungs are been squashed so much that they are about to collapse :(
Petal, i am sooo excited for you! Im gonna be majorly cheering you on!
Mrs I.... i reckon you should go for number 4! noone ever regrets the kids they have do they! thats what i keep telling myself anyway :)
How is everyone else? Inglewood, sunset, how are those goregous girls. Kell, you too, how is lily doing now?
Babymad... your little man is just so adorable, he really melts my heart. Cant wait for my little man to arrive. Still slightly undecided on name as dh hates giving in to me on this topic (i chose both ds1 and 2's names!). So i think it will have to wait till the birth is over and then he doesn't have a leg to stand on!

Hi deaks!! Wow it's going fast isn't it?
My boy is only in year 4 so I have a few years to ponder things. He would need to pass a entrance exam first. I know a few public school kids who work in shops, but I also know a few who have turned out quite well. But I guess I worry that a normal working class kid would fit in. Still if you have to pay to get into uni why not get into the top uni? Things have changed a lot since I was a kid and student. With the eu opening up I think the kids need to aim a bit higher to even get any job.

Hi girls i'm here now! :)
Deaks ~ wow I can't believe you are 34 weeks already! how are you feeling apart your from your lungs being squashed? is your pregnancy progressing well? I haven't seen you much on FB. DD is doing really well.. she's into everything and crawling everywhere and it wont be long until she starts pulling herself up :)
Petal ~ how exciting that you're going HT :D are you nervous?
MrsI ~ I vote for a 4th ;) how old is your ds3 now?
Petal ~ how is your little boy getting on? how old is he now?
Inglewood ~ how are your girls doing?
Maybebaby ~ good luck with your decision! If money was no object to me then I would definitely send my kids to a private school, but unfortunately there's no way I could ever afford it. How old is your ds3 now?
Indigo ~ how are you and baby doing?
Babymad ~ how are you and baby doing?
Hello to everyone else!! let's keep this sept thread active :)

Maybe, i agree... ds1 had his SATS earlier this year and he is only 11 but i felt it really important that he revised and most of all that he wanted to do well, so he revised and done really well, particually his maths, and now he has the results he has a sense of acheivement, he knows that because he tried his best he did well. A freind of mine told her son not to bother revising because exmas arn't important and that he can always get a job working off shore!!!! i mean, no disrespect to off shore workers but i dont think its right that she's told her son not to bother trying!!! mental. So yes, maybe, i think kids do need to work that bit harder now to get into uni and get good jobs, if we had the money, id send my boys to private school.
Hi Deaks!! aww not long now!, i know that feeling of the squashed lungs, not nice! how are those yummy little boys of yours?
Sunset, yes i am nervous but still doesnt seem real lol, we are going to Genesis feb half term next year. DS3 is great, almost walking :-( hes so funny, pulls the funnist faces, he makes me laugh so much. Ur dd is adorable, love her pics on fb x

Hey ladies,
Babymad, lovely to hear from you. Haven't given a second thought to girls names to be honest, im 100% convinced its a boy and im pretty sure that 14 week scan where sonographer hedged her bets on boy and the willy i spotted at 20 weeks were for real! How are you doing with gd? its hard for me to know how i really feel as have ht to fall back on. But somedays i surprise myself by thinking i might just stop with these three. Probably because i have totally had enough of being pregnant. Don't fancy going through it again much!
Sunset, everyone keeps telling me how small i am so i really don't feel like i complain but i do wander whether if i had a bigger bump and perhaps more water retention whether the bubs might have a little more room in there and stop fighting my organs for space! Would love this baby to come early but its just not going to i know.
Petal, my boys are fine thanks. Loving ds1 being at school and the things he has to tell me. He is so excited by it all. Ds2 is fine too and am thinking of getting him into nursery before baby comes instead of after. Give me a bit of a break for the last few weeks!
Loving catching up on everyones news... hopefully now its a new term we might all have a little more time for our thread. Petal, have you had many chats with genesis? does it all seem straightforward enough?

HI girls,
Everything is going well so far... just waiting for november really to get the pre-testing done, managed to find a clinic nearer to me than London which is a bonus!! Just got to get myself n dh on the vitamins n stuff now lol. Ive spoken to Savvas on the phone, he seems nice! i think it will seem more real once christmas is over.
Its nice having the big boys back at school, they needed it! although the school run drives me insane!
Glad your both doing well, i too love looking at everyones pics :-))
Babymad, yes come to Cypus with me!! he he. Have you totally ruled out anymore ivf?
Deaks, i felt like you do when i was pregnant, and even for the 1st 6 months or so i was 'content' with the 3 but then my mind started wondering and here i am lol. x

Deaks ~ I hated being pg too, I do think it would be different though if you knew 100% it was a girl. When I was pg and knew it was a girl it was a wonderful feeling and I had decorated the whole house in pink (in my mind) with baby girl cards and gifts, it was amazing. The 'knowing' would defo get you through the pg. and the end result of course would be worth it.
I'm doing ok, really enjoying Beck and lucky as he's a very happy baby which makes it more enjoyable. I am a baby person so defo in my element at the mo. Having said that I have had some dark days and days with lots of tears, I suppose they will stay with me forever. I love Beck so much so I'm lucky I'm not struggling with my relationship with him but I am still struggling with my situation on a daily basis - the reality of never having a daughter is very difficult for me to live with and the loneliness that brings is just as difficult. Just writing it now makes me cry and the longing is still as strong as it ever was, I don't believe it will get any easier...I suppose you just 'get on with it' as there's no other option. The sadness has definitely changed me as a person. I will always be the best mum I can to my boys though as they deserve my unconditional love and receiving theirs is what keeps me going x
Are you all ready for LO's arrival, I still think you maybe having pink ;)
We've had a tough couple of weeks, renovating the house is in full swing at the moment and with that and four kids with no help its taking it's toll on me and my DH, we are utterly exhausted. Our house has always been such a big project and takes every spare second we have...it's hard going. Another two years and we should be finished....whether I'll still be alive to enjoy I'm not sure!! I know it will be worth it as its a beautiful home but it's defo killing us off at the mo!
My DS1 and DH are ill in bed with a sickness bug - really hoping I don't get it! bless em.
Petal ~ I was like that too, felt content for awhile, especially as I love the baby bit but then I was booking screening tests in London before I knew it! No, we could never do it again. I don't have any regrets, I suppose I wish that things could have been different and we could have done PDG again, that's the only thing I dwell on really but in reality it couldn't have happened and my DH wasn't supportive enough to make it happen, whereas I would have done ANYTHING to make it happen but he just wasnt feeling what I was....that's the difference I suppose. I don't blame him, I just wish things could have been different and we had had a second chance....all the girls I got to know through hi-tech have all had their girls now, so perseverance does bring results! Can't wait to follow your journey :) x
Sorry I've waffled on!
How's everyone doing?
Xxx

I have days where I think about having a dd still. I guess like you babymad it never goes, but it's much more of a back burner now. We really need to secure a mortgage for a four bed house first. Six people won't fit into this house however much I kid myself! Also i feel that I need invest everything into the kids I have. Never say never.
I too love the baby days. Little laughs, gurgling, sucking feet I wish so much they could stay this way forever.

When it gives its smiley face is this the same as a positive opk? how have you used it to help you plan attempts? any advice would be greatly received. I have been trying to concieve for a while now and I think my inability to use the monitor properly is not helping, thank you in advance x

Hello all
Not been on here for ages... just busy busy I guess... and we are trying to organise the big move back to the UK. Its coming up fast.
Missgozo - sorry I never used the clearblue... hope you work it out...
babymad - I still get sad moments. I love Duke so so much... but I still yearn for that girl too. I'm pretty sure DH is absolutely against any more (we haven't talked about it) and also I'm wary as I'm sure my health isn't going to let me have another one anyway. I can't help thinking about how this isn't how I thought my life would pan out when I was younger. I always thought I'd get a daughter eventually. I think it will be a while before I fully deal with what we are going to do and how I feel about it.
Sunset - really glad you were able to get some speech therapy advice/help!
Duke is going wonderfully! I'm always saying he's my easiest baby. He just smiles and coos and has only really howled a handful of times. He's sleeping through the night too. If only my older 2 would be so kind as to sleep through the whole night!!! :P
Sunset
September 17th, 2012, 02:17 PM
Pinga ~ wow your little boy is doing really well :) not even my 8 month old baby sleeps through the night yet *zZz* Good luck with the move, when is it you're moving again?
missgozo ~ welcome :) I never used the clearblue digital so i can't help, sorry. Are you doing diet as well?
missgozo
September 17th, 2012, 03:30 PM
Thank you Pinga and Sunset - I am doing the diet but I worry how well. I have been using a plan atomic designed well worth the money in my opinion but my fertility monitor is playing up. How do you girls monitor ovulation without temps? I tried temps for 3 months and was very bad at it to be honest, have fab excuses but I was just rubbish!!
pinga
September 17th, 2012, 10:39 PM
missgozo - I had good temps with a clear pattern - I used to do it am and pm and I was able to identify my temp shift really well. Also used cheapy ovulation tests. So was able to work things out with a combination of the 2. I always did my temps at the same time. Hope you manage to get it sorted. Its a bit of a pain at times isn't it :)
Sunset - we're moving at the end of the year (after Christmas). I love the sleeping through the night bit! Some of my friends say that formula fed babies sleep through the night earlier. Goes to show its got nothing to do with it!! I think poor Duke has been given a cough courtesy of a pesky older brother!!
We had a surprise fathers day on Sunday. We missed the actual one which was a couple of weeks ago over here due to a birthday party. So I decided to make it a surprise! We decided that surprise Mothers/Fathers Days are great! Its so lovely to get that surprise! Made a yummy breakfast with the boys while DH was out running (28km so he was gone a while). Makes you feel extra special!
Petal - oh meant to say - how exciting that you'll be going HT! Will be following you with fingers crossed!

Babymad, the newborn/baby stage is just the best isnt it! shame is the shortest time thou! I dont think i will ever get over not having a daughter if ht doesnt work, i really try not to think about it too much, but its there and always will be. Like you say we just have to 'get on with our lives'. I think i'll be 80 and still thinking about it lol.
Ds3 has stared waking during the night again to be fed, has his bottle and does go back to sleep, must be a growth spurt!

I'm trying to get Out to play groups with Charlie and Lily as much as possible to keep us entertained! I'm still checking them out though to see which ones I like best!
Lily is great, she will be 8weeks old on Friday I can believe it! The tummy aches seem to have calmed down now! She smiles and coo's loads it's adorable :)
And last night she slept from 9:30-5:30 had a feed and is still asleep now! Can't complain about that huh!

Maybebaby ~ fingers crossed life gets easier for you all soon... it’s so worrying isn’t it. I’ve been speaking to the teachers at my sons school (ds2 will start nursery in November) and i’ve had a good response from them. I’ve also been given exercises of the private speech therapist so looking forward to start doing those with him and hopefully that will be of help while we wait for nhs speech therapy. Let us know how it goes with your son, hopefully he will get good support from the school.

Hi all, finding it so hard to get on here at the moment. Have had my parents staying with me to help me out a bit since tuesday and although it really does help me in many ways, it also causes quite a lot of hard work too... laundry, cooking and hoovering (especially as they have a dog too). Anyway, have finally got me house straight this afternoon and hoping to get on top of emails, fb and our thread! Feels like time is flying by and im desperate to meet my new little man (though everyone teasing me its gonna be a girl ... i even started googling when a boy comes out a girl and how likely that is to happen!). Have got everything sorted for baby and even managed to land myself an ex-display bugaboo £250 reduced! so just need to get hospital bag packed now but going out to buy maternity pads etc doesn't exactly excite me much! Am dreading the birth.... just hoping i get there soon enough for some pain relief!
Anyway, im glad to read most of the bubs on here doing well, though charlie it sounds like there isn't much improvement for you. I really hope you manage to find someone who can help you both very soon as that cracking point is not a nice place to be at all... am thinking of you.
Petal, cant believe its not long till HT.... eek! am desperate for it to go smoothly and work first time for you :) As you know my plan was to do HT next april, but at the moment i am wandering how on earth i would cope with another pregnancy that soon!

Hi ladies, wish it was majority rule, because us against my dh would mean i would get my 4th child after all!!!! He says he's not totally against it if we manage to get the extension done in the next year or so .... then promptly resorted to his get out clause '...but I'm too old ...' so back to square 1. Still really clucky, especially now C is getting so big.

Thanks sunset! so glad im nearly full term... going to start of the pineapple, sex and curries as of this tuesday!! Dh and i chatted about ht last night and we are still up for going to california next easter so think we may just book flights and a holiday and then if by the time easter comes i don't want to be pregnant again just yet we could always freeze any female embryos and go back for transfer later (the body is supposed to be more receptive when it isn't as full of meds anyway). But im sure if i get told there is a girl to be used, i wont be able to help myself there and then!

Hi everyone,
Haven't been on here for a while, life has been very hectic. DS1 just started school and I didn't know how stressful and emotional it would be. He's been on half days for the last 2 weeks and I've struggled with all 3 of them in the afternoons. Glad he's starting full time tomorrow so I've got a bit more time for the other 2. Started working again yesterday too (own business) so think I've put a bit too much on my plate.
Glad to read all your posts and see everyone is doing well. Deaks, I can't believe you're nearly there!!! So exciting. Also wonderful news that you and Petal are going for HT.
Life with DS3 is wonderful. He was quite poorly at 6 weeks and in hospital with a Urinary Tract Infection. I don't know whether it's because I had a difficult pregnancy or the scare of him being in hospital but I feel very protective over him, moreso than I did over the other 2 and although I still have a very heavy heart and longing that I don't think will ever go away, DH and I don't think we'll try again and so my swaying journey ends here. We haven't completely ruled out having a 4th in time (although time not completely on my side)but we're not going to plan for it and I just don't think I could go through another sway attempt and don't have the money for HT. To be honest, I'm just about coping with 3 and take my hat off to anyone that has 4+. Without family around I think we'd struggle.
I'm selling my swaying stuff, if anyone wants anything, let me know - http://genderdreaming.com/forum/trying-conceive-girl/13863-uk-ladies-anyone-interested-sway-items-i-am-selling.html

Hey hun, yes we decided fairly early on that our first attempt will be in the US. I think realistically there will be only one attempt there unless there is a spare to freeze in which case i will return alone somehow. Any other attempt/s will be at genesis but i wanted to try HRC first as i don't think dh would have agreed to the US as a second or third attempt as it is more expensive. Plus i know at genesis they are more keen to replace more than one egg and that wont be an option for us at all.
I didn't realise charlies little boy had been readmitted to hoss.. thats awful but i really hope they can get to the bottom of things now.
Maybepink, lovely to hear from you. Glad things are better with ds3, he sounds like a little angel. I think we all get that heavy heart feeling... hopefully it makes us into stronger women who take things for granted less.... thats what i tell myself anyway! Not convinced ht will work for me anyway so im sure i will be in the same position considering an au natural 4th but just don't think i can cope with the emotional rollercoaster again.

Hi all, so sorry I have been missing for weeks.... the days turn into weeks so quickly, my girls are 6mths net wk!
Been busy preparing for loft conversion. Kids are off on a long weekend from school and Dh has taken them swimming. Girls go down for a nap about 12-ish (hence my freedom on here!) watch this they will wake up!! lol
Have read ur post, 5 pages, so excuse the no personals.... can't wait tho to follow Petal and maybe deaks? (u never know!) on HT journey's and Maybepink, glad ur little one is well, don't think I saw ur birth news....so Congratulations!!
Kell,hope ur dd is well?
Still not been keeping great, dizziness and aching sore feet, esp after I've been sitting for a while then get up, or 1st thing in the morning. Got painkillers with no joy! Having bloods taken on thurs and ENT referral as it's been 4mths now and I still feel like I'm walking on a boat. Stupid me and my nurse head thinking lots of daft thoughts.....
Girls are now in own cotbed at night and are doing well. They sleep 830pm-730am, they do waken but just for dummies. I laugh as they get so excited to see us and are all smiley that u wanna pick them up....but I don't! Have started kinna weaning them with really thick baby rice....kinna like mashed pot and dd2 loves it but dd1 spits it out/ They can't sit up great for long (in bumbo chairs etc) and I don't have room for 2 highchairs...trying to decide what to get as my dining table won't allow those booster seats as it a wooden bit where there legs would fit under the table iukwim... Need a new table as our stairs to the loft going in dining room, so we will need a smaller one, typical....when we need our 6 seater table.
Better go grap some lunch before they waken.... take care and pop on soon (promise). Don't want our SMOG group to dissappear....

My baby k things turned up today from mothercare. I can't stop spending, thank goodness I have a job to go back too. Still I wish I didn't need the money!

Hi guys :)
Inglewood glad to hear the girls are good :) bless them getting excited to see you!
Lily is good thanks! She's mostly over her dippy tummy, I think it was just an immature system than anything really, she's 8weeks now, had her injections yesterday which broke my heart, poor little thing was so upset!
TlM so good to hear from you :)
Deaks here's hoping you don't need to go anywhere other than USA, wow these last few weeks of your pregnancy seem to be flying! Well for me anyway lol!
Maybe three can be tough at times, I feel your pain :) we have all 4kids together every 3weeks and we can't do much because our cars not big enough for our family lol
Oops must go Lily's calling :S

I sometimes feel like the old woman who lived in the shoes - so many kids.....
But mostly it's ok. Tonight ds2 was tierd and crying, that was hard. But what's 3 when you two? Life is hectic anyway. I do still a bit broody. But back to work soon, which I imagine is going to be hard. How is your course going kell?

I'm back beginning of nov! I need the money but so sad about it. Went out with work on weds and they made me feel missed and the guy I sit next too was saying we will still a laugh (all men but very witty bunch). Still I will miss my baby. I kind of sorted things with cm, but it's left me feeling like he would better with his mummy c

Hi all,
Maybe, sorry you are struggling with the idea of going back to work. Hopefully you will find it easier leaving A than you think.... and if not, then perhaps a 4th?!! hee hee
Kell, my friend is also about to start the 4 yr midwifery course... im so jealous! She reckons im going to be invaluable to her with my knowledge of swaying/pgd. She reckons it will come in helpful when she has to write essays :)
Petal, the school run is def the bit i am dreading the most with having three... especially as i take the dog along too and it would be a wasted opportunity if i didn't. Lets hope they are all co-operative most of the time!
Kell, yes i hope i don't have to go anywhere other than the usa too.... actually was just researching the cost of packages there but unless i confess all to my parents, i think it will look very suss to go there more than once (kind of a once in a blue moon destination). Even if i return to have a frosty transferred at some point, i think i will have to tell my parents what im up to. Somehow cyprus seems easier to keep secret and doesn't look so suss if we return.
So where are all our other lovely ladies? Lavender...you thinking of getting back on the swaying? Jo, how are things? anyone else??
Sunset/inglewood how are your gorgeous girls? Your fb updates about them keep me amused and inspired for the future.
Charlie.... Hoping Emmett is making good progress daily. One day you will be posting photos of chubby wrists and ankles :)

Hey everyone, long time no type :-) I have been staying off here for fear of triggering any girl related depression, I now have our 3rd son here, he is coming up 5 weeks. He is lovlely but gosh is hard work at times, my 1st was extremely hard work, very very colicy and a blimmin nightmare for the first year, my 2nd was as good as gold and very easy going which is why I thought the 3rd would be the same lol, but he has a good pair of lungs on him ;-) However he isn't colicky, just gets some trapped wind and when he wants me, he wants me right now and there is no waiting bless him.
Have decided against pgd overseas, its too much of a gamble and we need the money for doing the house up for our family home and for the boys future so decision finally made. Makes me sad to think and say chances are no daughter for me, we will have a 4th but not until DS3 is at least 3 years old as I want to enjoy our last and that means needing time when they are all at school or pre-school to manage the house.
Anyway Im rambling, hope your all well xx

Hi chocolate! Congratulations on your little boy! I think my longing for a girl has toned down 90% in the last six months! In line with my hormones I guess. I still toy with the idea of a fourth, but I need another house really. Was having a chat with a friend who was saying she is over babies, wants a brand new car, holidays in Florida etc but I would still trade material things for a dd.
Deaks congratulations on your post count! I am sure Iif I went to the USA for OCD no one would suspect. But our parents aren't very active parts of our lives. If it was me I would go alone and put dhs sample on ice. Then say I'm working away or on a course. No one would butt a eyelid

Chocolate congratulations on your baby boy!! :)
Deaks - congrats on 1000 posts :) I had a really good post count on PL but i'm seriously lacking here lol i'll better start posting more :P I really hope and pray that you get succesful on your first attempt! how many attempts are you prepared to do?
kell - good luck with your midwifery course, very exciting! you are supermum!
threelittlemen - it's always nice to have you pop by! i'm not on here an awful lot either these days. I'm so busy with all these kids and trying to have a somewhat tidy house that i don't find the time
maybebaby - a reborn doll sounds like a good idea ;) i'm sure your broodiness will continue to fade with time :) i'm sure not as broody as i was 7 months ago lol it doesn't help that my dd is the worst sleeper in the entire of universe so i'm constantly walking around like a zombie haha if i have another one it won't be until dd is well over 2!
hello to everyone else!
4 more weeks until ds2's birthday! i feel very emotional, i just can't understand how he got so big so fast? 3 years seems like virtually nothing when you have kids!

Aww sunset my ds2 was three a few weeks back the time really does fly huh! What are you getting him?
Maybe I always remember the reality of starting work again was much less scary than I thought! I hope the same goes for you, of course it goes without saying that we miss out babies, but it does give time to be you and not just mummy.
Chocolate congratulations Hun :)
Deaks thanks :) I can't wait to start the course I've got a while to enjoy Lily first though! Just need to sort out some voluntary work before I go! Woohoo well done on 1000posts :)

Maybe, I WISH dh would go for the snip, but he won't go!! working on him...
Kell, glad lily is better. I'v considered midwifery, wouldn't take me more than 18mths-2yrs, but not while girls are small, maybe later on. All the best, my nursing degree was hard work!
Must dash.... 2 screamers here..... finish later...x

Thanks inglewood :) I have toyed with the idea of waiting but I only have 5 years to use my course qualification and I just know the entry requirements will continue to go up :S I could apply and defer if it came to it which gives me an extra year.
I'm quite use to hard work in the education stakes, when I had tommy I did a hnd in business and accounting, access course when Charlie was born and now a degree while Lily's little lol

Congratulations Chocolate
Eeek - I haven't been on here for ages!!!! Busy days hey! Today I'm stuck at home with sick children - wow they can be hard work when they are all sick! DS2 has a cold and conjunctivitis, DS1 has a horrendous cough and I think DS3 is a bit off too as he won't let me put him down and is fussing on the boob. Arghh... :)
DS1 might need his tonsils out. Got an appt with an ENT next month - that will set me back $100 as we've been referred privately :P If it helps him sleep through the night it is worth it!! He was up 8 times last night :P and its been like that for months... oh for a good nights sleep.
I did read all the posts! Too many to comment on all :)
Maybe - are you going back to work full time? Or have you managed to get parttime?? I'm umming and ahhing about whether to go back fulltime or parttime and when to start working. Its such a torment to leave your baby isn't it?!?!
oh better go... boys started to go crazy in the background :P
