Slightly belated but better late than never lol!!

Well thers great success with 5's gooorgeous little man being born:HH: and yahmamas recent blue u/s::bluecheer::bluecheer:

I'm doing a bit rubbish atm but have the advantage of not even ovulating atm due to b/f lol, so I have some grace time :)

I'm taking daily fish oil, coconut oil, pre natal, folic acid and royal jelly plus a heaped teaspoon of wheatgrass powder in tbe morning so hopefully the base is there.

My exercise has dropped off but I am pushing the double pushchair around again with school started back up.

I've currently got a bloody coldsore on my lip from lack of sleep and stress due mainly to dh, he never turns the telly off and when he does thats when davy chooses to start his in and out the bed fun d'oh:) so my body is sending out run down messages, not good!

My diet is pretty crap aswell due to not being able to do a proper shop and then being too shattered to get my brainin gear to prepare anything decent. Ì think I should do a wekly menu to help mysf out abit?? Watch this space for weekly meal planner idea!

I'd love to hear what everyone else is doing so I can get some more ideas and inspiration, I find checking in here more lately helps remind me what I should be doing.

Hope to chat with you all a bit more soon:)

GL to everyone else too this month. I should be TTCing right about the end of the month of first couple days next month.

Kind of nerve wracking that is getting so close. My last two days my diet has been bad and I definitely haven't eaten enough in the morning. I just have a gut feeling that is a big factor to me getting a DS so it's hard when I know my blood sugar has been messed up. Oh well, like any other diet tomorrow is a new day.

Who else is TTC this month????

Elp - I can't believe your over here talking about your next one! You're a mad woman lol You swaying for another boy or just going with the flow?

N710- be aware of you're diet but don't freak out about it, boy moms skip breakfast and eat crap every now and again too. A few bad days don't mean you're doomed. fx for a speedy blue bfp :)

I love reading all the successful sways! I'm pretty sure I O'ed yesterday or Friday so now I've started the dreaded 2ww. I'm already ripping apart my sway thinking of everything I could've done differently. Is this normal?

oh its completely normal, I ripped apart my sway every month. There's always something you think you could of done differently but nothing can be 100% perfect.
Good luck :)

Thanks 3P1B, I do have to remember that.
It's funny, your complete family is exactly what I have now. I am hoping it isn't too overwhelming if we end up with 4 girls and 1 boy. We'll see what happens

ELP-you sounds like me too. My littlest is 6 months today and I am trying. I have really liked them so close.

n710, good luck with you attempt this month! And as 3p1b says, don't worry about a few off days of diet in the bigger picture these won't make any difference at all:) When was your LO born? Davy was 18th March this year, a successful sway so I'm a great believer in swaying:) Did you sway before??

Jen:bigsmile: Yes, I'm swaying again:rolleyes::bigsmile: I know as soon as my cycles start up again I won't be able to let any eggs go, so I thought I may aswell be in the blue zone as I know both Davy and Charlie need a lil bro!;)

Waffles! How exciting in the 2ww!! Kup on symptoms ok:) And I'm another one who picked apart their sway lol, I had pretty much zero cm so almost prayed for a bfn lol but the rest off the swaying must have done their magic and we got Dave:bigsmile::luck:

ELP-She's March 10th, so they are really close! Everyone I know here was having boys when I was having her.
Nope, this will be my first sway and last LO. Ours are 5, 3 1/2, 22 months and 6 months. DH is kind of on the fence for #5, so we are trying for 1 month and then not necessarily again. I am going to try not to stress about that part in the 2WW;)

September 12th, 2012, 04:14 PM
Congrats Cinss!!!

There definitely must be trends in regards to gender because maybe when times(economy) is stressful times are harder=more girls, etc.

Anyway, my son started school this year and there are two sections. There are 15 boys, 5 girls in one and 14 boys, 7 girls in the other-nutty.

Let's see, I am doing IUI with no meds, and a trigger shot at the end of the month. I have been doing the diet, supps and a little weights. I think I am still going to do cough syrup as well right before, can't decide if Preseed will be a waste since it only goes in the vagina anyway.
I wish I knew more folks who did the IUI w/out Clomid just to know their experiences.

Waffles, can't speak from experience yet, but my plan is to stay just as disciplined to keep the glucose high so if it's a boy it'll implant. Right, doesn't if have to be high for the boys????

GL, I figure it must be hard, I'm having a hard time in the mornings

dloui128
September 12th, 2012, 08:42 PM
How disciplined to the sway are you ladies (past swayers or present) in the 2ww? I feel like I've been majorly slacking off but will try harder starting tomorrow.

I was pretty disciplined in the 2ww except for my BFP cycle, I was so sick of the HE diet that I was going to take a break from swaying that month if I didn't get a BFP so I wasn't as strict that cycle

Cinss
September 13th, 2012, 08:49 PM
I found that eating a big breakfast then smaller snacks and meals every 2-3 hours became easier the longer i was doing it. Just remember you dont have to stuff yourself at each meal, just eat enough to be satisfied. Its easy to put bananas in smoothies or pancakes or muffins even on toast with peanut butter (so yummy) so that you dont get sick of them just on their own.

ELP
September 14th, 2012, 03:52 AM
I agree that the regular grazing is an easy way to keep the glucose up, especially on nuts and dried fruit, just a 10-15 peanuts chucked in each time you pass the cupboard should keep the calories good even without a meal:)

waffles, what strength tests have you got?? I got my bfp 8dpo, will you start then!!! That reminds me, I better hunt down the tests i used and get some more in for when Davy eases up off the booby lol!

n710
September 14th, 2012, 04:23 PM
Waffles you crack me up on the bananas I hear ya!!!

I am eating 2 a day. I second Cinss on the smoothie and have one in the morning with Greek yogurt and blueberries or strawberries. Then one at night with cereal.

ELP-I really hope the grazing can help because I really have trouble doing a meal in the am.

Instead for the first 7 hours I am up I have 2 hard boiled eggs, fruit & yogurt smoothie, raisins and nuts and an apple. I know it's probably not enough, but I am not hungry and it's hard to cook something with all the LO's needing things left and right and any errands in the am.
I finally make a meal when they take their nap-usually 3 scrambled eggs, avocado, NYF, cheese, veggies, potatoes.

Then dinner is the banana and cereal. I know I am not necessarily eating as much as I should be, but I am never hungry which has to be a good thing. Before I used to be starving by the time my kids went down for nap.

Anyone just graze in the am and get their boy or know anyone who did?

Nuts and eggs daily are brilliant, they contain as much good fats as a whole meal!

Hi All

Congratulations Cinss

Just back from holidays with no good news for me this month AF arrived the day after we arrived for me and only stayed for 2 days I did a test and BFN so I am hoping against hope that my cycles aren't going to start being messed up. But aside from that, all going to plan I should be O'ing this coming week where myself and DH will be at a wedding in the hotel were we had our wedding reception. So fingers crossed for a September conception and a BFP before I go to Edinburgh for a girls weekend with my mum and sisters

Thanks everyone for the welcome :)

My sway so far:

I have started on:
Pregvit folic 5 prenatals 3months ago
CoQ10
Fish Oil
Fertile CM

The prenatals have a lot of the zinc, B12, Vit E, etc.

Diet/Drinks:
Just started V8 - gag
Coconut water
Green day 1-2x a day (drank this for about the last year)
Pineapple juice

Daily:
I will have banana, nuts, dates, all the drinks. I have to be careful of the banana's as my insulin is quite high although my blood sugar is normal ....dr's still haven't figured that part out yet :(

I am have a had time wit the diet, as I don't want to balloon up, as I just got all the weight off after my Ivf's so.....I will just make sure to eat well and make the best choices I can.

I am also going to watch the calcium, and limit it best I can.

If you think of anything else that I can add, please feel free to give me any suggestions!

Exercise:
4x a week with cardio (30 mix max) plus weights

Timing:
This is my first month using the CB fertility monitor, so I am hoping I can learn to pinpoint ovulation with this practise run!

Its looking good Sonia:) Have you read through atomics posts about the calcium? I am definately thinking that calcium is good for a boy sway, the more the merrier for blue:) Also how about adding some wheatgrass for a super nutrient boost? I take it in powder form, a teaspoon a morning, but start with 1/2 a teaspoon because it will make you really windy at first lol!!

Your exercise looks perfect:agree:

I've found that as long as the food is quality then you don't really need to over eat at all, just make sure everything counts:agree: So for me that means cutting out the sweets, cakes and cheap white bread that I could live on, and replacing with the nuts, dried fruit and veggies. I've also found that having a bag or frozen, ready cooked chicken in the freezer is ideal for a quick option, just leave a fillet in the fridge over night to defrost and its there for whatever the next day:)

Can you tell me about coconut water Sonia?? I take coconut oil capsules daily as part of my supps as they are a good source of essential fatty acids, what benefits does the water have???

ELP
September 17th, 2012, 05:21 AM
Pearl, I agree with filling the crypts:agree: Again, the more waiting the merrier imo, hopefully then the swaying will give the waiting blues a good head start when your body sends the right signals:) I went for 2 x bd the day before ov due(turned out to be 2 days in the end) that way I knew that I had plenty there sitting waiting:agree:

ELP:

Thanks for the tips about the nuts/eggs. I am still BFing and am a vegetarian so need to compensate for those in a blue sway.

Let's see,
I am taking:
One A Day 50 mult.vit.
krill oil
folic acid
gelatin
vit. D
and only 4 wheatgrass tabs. a day (bottles day 7 each meal-but I can't handle that)

DH is also taking supps. when he remembers so half the week. He doesn't eat a lot of meat either though and does still drink/smoke 1/week/ I couldn't get him to do less than that:(

I hope we just get pregnant our first try because of timing next summer we only have one month that works out for TTCing.

Thank you for the tips! I have the wheatgrass drinks, but I was going to start them from AF to O on my attempt month. I am thinking I will try for end of November, and use this month and next as practise to pinpoint my ovuation. I had a friend who tried a sway, but she isnt on GD and found out she is having DD2. She used the CB digital ovulation and DTD on + OPK April 15 and said that the US confirmed her ovulation to have occured on April 19. So, I want to do a few practise cycles to make sure I comfortable!

The Coconut water was recommended by Atomic and it was 600 mg potassium for about 60 cals. It honestly doesnt taste very good and I have to gag that plus my V8 down! I dont want to balloon up incase if takes me a few months to get my BFP but then again, I am relaxing on the weight because I would rather gain weight now and conceive DS and be done instead of having to go through another preg! Thats the only thing that calms me down when I see the scale go up!

My attempts are not going according to plan as DH had to go to his parents house last night to look after something on the farm ( which is 2 hrs drive away) and he stayed the night there so no attempt last night or this morning. Do you think its too late to start swaying?

September 20th, 2012, 06:43 PM
Hi brittoneill07. Idealy you would want to be on the diet and supps for 6 weeks minimum before your first attempt. Also starting to do exercise and weights is good for a boy sway and you will need to start doing that asap. I would recommend waiting and getting the sway plan, and charting for a couple of cycles before you go for it so you know when you ovulate etc. But if you must start this cycle you still have a 50/50 chance for a boy.

I would probably give it a few cycles to get diet, exercise and supplements in your system for a while, get to know your cycles. If you really wanted to try this cycle I would definitely start the diet asap

We would ideally like to start this cycle because we are trying to avoid getting pregnant in December. Both my DDs are September babies so we would like to avoid another one lol. Is there a place i can get a copy of the diet so I can start it? Also i was reading about extreme gender swaying. Have any of you heard of this or have had experience with this? We have also been looking in to the Shettles method.

Sonia, I think it's a good idea to get a few practice rounds in! If I hadn't done the same, I never would've realized my surge was so short. I would probably have a really hard time getting pregnant if I waited for the OPK+!

Hi Waffles,

What do you mean about the +OPK? Ahhh, I am using the CBFM and I am still getting the low reading, waiting for a high and then the peak to start to learn my cycles.

n710
September 21st, 2012, 04:22 PM
Hi Britton,
Welcome. I definitely understand wanting to rush and TTC this month, but take a day or two and read all the info. here and evaluate which you have been doing more, HE or LE. I know my lifestyle was so girl friendly and I was much more LE so believe my chances would definitely not be 50/50 if I tried w/out swaying.

I guess what I am saying is really figure out what feels right to you in regards to waiting a cycle at least to get your self more blue friendly vs. how quickly you want to just get pregnant. I also understand not wanting or being able to try certain months. I'll have one try this month and then if we do try again we won't be able to until January so it can be frustrating.

Just read everything and go with your gut. GL!

ELP-You make me laugh!!! I hear ya! I was pumping twice a day for the first couple of months after DD was born so I could have some extra in the freezer to make with baby food, etc. Anyway, I knew I wanted to try soon, so I pumped and then stopped all together at the end of June and got AF 3 weeks later.

I know I have read that if you drop a feeding or two especially at night it could make your cycle return. There is also something about sleeping with a light on 4 nights in the middle of a month then complete darkness the rest and it can help make your cycle return.

GL with the baby fever!!!!!

Oh, no clue how to make a ticker, but it's okay in a way. I think it would drive me nuts. I am trying not to think about it too much. So, only Day 4 and I think I have been OV'ng late so attempt should be towards the end of the first week of Oct.

Waffles,
I am thinking of you, because I am totally wanting to take a break with this diet in the 2ww. Not a lot, but just a bit. I have gained 4 lbs, but REALLY want to gain 4 more to get up to my pre-preg. weight with DS, but man it's hard. I am so full after lunch! I weighed less with all my girls so would love to get those extra few

Hello Britt:) I think that the extreme gender swaying has been disproven, even to the point of lowering fertility for blue swayers so actually swaying them pink, but I could be wrong? Again, I think Atomic has written some articles about it somewhere, I'll see if I can look them up:)

Shettles aswell, has been disproved:)

I personally would wait before attempting in your situation, just so the changes can happen in your system that way you may be waiting an extra few months to attempts but it would save maybe another 18 months if you jumped in before ready and had a another lovely little girl:)

If you are happy to just roll the dice then my advice would be to stop all processed foods now, so no sweets, cakes or rubbish. Lots of fruit and veg, try for 8 servings a day. Buy a large bag of peanuts and a jar of peanut butter and start working your way through them lol. Cut out any white bread and switch to a healthy multigrain bread, and if your not already, start taking a pre-natal, fish oil and wheatgrass supplement straight away to send a massive a nutrient boost to your system, it may be all you need:) GL and welcome :luck:

I'd not heard that about the light for 4 days!! You shouldnt be encouraging me lol!! We will be moving Davy into a big cot finally some time this week, he is still jumping between the moses basket and my bed all night for booby, but he's at the point with his crawling where I am waking to find him climbing on my head, (hes only 14lb-ish so he still fits in the basket bless him:)), so he needs to be a cot now, my friends husband is attaching 2 toodler beds together bunk bed style for us this week, I will post a pic once their done as I started a thread a good while ago in preparation for this day and it would be nice to finally update it:bigsmile: Im sure his moving to the cot may well signal the drop of the night feeds:suprise: Imagine if we had a load of pre-xmas bfp's!!

Hi Waffles,

What do you mean about the +OPK? Ahhh, I am using the CBFM and I am still getting the low reading, waiting for a high and then the peak to start to learn my cycles.

If you're using the CBFM, I guess it would be the same as your peak fertility days. Many women have 2 days of positive ovulation tests, OR they ovulate the day after their first positive (or peak reading, in your case). I tend to have 24 hours or less of a +opk. I think I'm actually one of those unlucky ones that ovulate about 12 hours after I detect my surge.

Cinss
September 23rd, 2012, 05:16 PM
The only +opk that is important is the first one. You will O 12-48 hours after that. There is no need to keep doing opk's after you get the + first one.

Well ladies I am back on the 2ww not to sure when I ov'ed as I forgot the OPKs but had middlesmertz on Friday. We DTD every 2nd day for the past 10 days.

So fingers crossed AF won't arrive on the 4th oct

Thanks for explaining that to me. I am new to the world of CBFM and the OPK's so anything I can learn about them helps! I am on month one of CBFM but I am waiting for the peak days to double check with the OPKs. I am using Sept and Oct and "practice" months and hoping for 1st attempt in late Nov.

THANK YOU!

Some diet help!

I have messaged ELP and dilou for some diet help but wondering if all your blue swayers had some tips as well. I am so much more disicplined when I have an eating plan so I am still trying to create one!

The things I am stuck on:
1) What foods/drinks did you have everyday or every week without fail?
2) What things did you elimiate or cut out from your diet?
3) About how much weight did you gain before attempt?

Thank you ladies for all your help! I know the diet is the most important so I want to make sure I do my best on it.

1. Green tea every night. Fish oil every day.
2. Processed packaged foods/sweets
3. First attempt didnt gain weight but as the months went on i gained about 10kgs in 7 months.

I freaked out at the weight gain so actually started exerciseing and lost 6kgs when i fell pregnant. But i was still 6kgs heavier than when i concieved DD so i have my fingers crossed.

I love reading others food idea, and it gives me a base of where to start from. I have the worst sweet tooth so I need to give up my sweets, which will be hard for me!

Did you ladies drink a lot of fruit juice as recommend in the FGD or just stick to V8?

Hi all... Wow so much info. Ttc5 I have followed your story since I joined a fewcweeks back. Big congratulations on your prince. I'm looking to start the sway in the next week or so with an attempt in dec/ Jan. I just feel so overwhelmed. We have looked into PGD which would obviously be a financial burden.. Dh wants to still go for it but I wantbto give swaying a go. I'm just gathering all the info at the mo... The abbreviations are confusing me. Could someone please clarify.

Dpo, bfp, af, bfn, profile ticker???...

I have ordered clear blue ovulation testing kit and thing I need to start testing around 1st oct. Can someone please explain in ABC terms what I should be documenting- is the surge the lead up to my ovulating days.

I know shettles say timing but am getting mixed feelings on here that timing has nothing to do with it. Please can someone clarify.

Also in addition to checking cm, should I be recording my vaginal ph.

Thanks...

Sonia - 1-Foods/drink - bacon and eggs for breakfast & a couple glasses of green tea every day. Fish oil was amazing for producing tone of ewcm.
2- I eliminated processed foods. Meat, fruits, veg, nuts and a little bit of bread was the essence of my diet. Everything home cooked and full of fat and nutrients.
3 - I was trying for 6 months and, if I remember right, in that time gained nearly 30 lbs. I choose to believe that each lb was necessary but logically know less gain would be fine lol

I drank one glass of blueberry pomegranate juice a day or made it into jello, it really helped with the sweet tooth.

Welcome Blueplease! Get yourself a fertilityfriend.com account and record your waking temp and your opk results. Remember to take the opk in the afternoon as you can get a false positive in the morning. After a few months you will figure out how soon to the positive you ovulate, for me it's 12-18 hrs so we dtd the night of the positive. Once you know about when you ovulate I suggest you stop temping, it'll drive you mad.
I'm not a believer in pH as I conceived my son while never getting my pH above 5.5 but I do believe the more ewcm the merrier :)

Pearl - woohoo! I love knowing others will be poas soon lol

3Pink1 Blue, THANK YOU for your diet help. Thats where I struggle and I know diet is really important. I will take the bits and pieces of everyones advice and come up with a plan for me. Did you watch calcium? Or just include full fat dairy?

Blueplease, welcome! I spent the last year on the HT/PGD road, and now back to swaying so I am learning as well.

I read as much as I could on here and also got a custom plan from Atomic which helped ease my mind as well. Its worth it for the plan and also the help she provides.

I would love to hear your journey, advice, opinions on it. Did you go to Thailand or us. I'm presuming it wasn't successful hence you starting to sway again. Hi, I don't mind sharing my story at all. It I can help anyone learn from my experience, I am happy to help! I cycled in the US and one thing I learned from PGD is that, yes gender is 99.9% guaranteed, but its the getting pregnant part that is the 30-50 percent. And even if your RE quotes you 80% chance of pregnancy, that means nothing, or if they say 10% chance, people still get pregnant. So one major thing I learned is that the percentages for a pregnancy from IVF definitely vary, and it was a year and 3 cycles later with no pregnancy so we are back to square 1 and back to our original plan of swaying.

If I had unlimited money, and could deal with the emotional roller coaster of it all, I would do it again, but it was definitely stressful and emotional, and I was telling my husband, we said 2 cycles, and thats it. We had 2 fresh cycles and 1 frozen transfer, and it was a lot emotionally for us both. Maybe you can read up on the HT forum as well, there is a LOT of info there, and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to msg me :)

Hi Sonia,

I am still TTC and I am a veggie so no meat on my list.

1) Oats with whole milk and peanut butter (week mornings), Eggs - about 12 per week, Green Tea, coconut water, nuts & seeds, beans & lentils, tomatos and about 1/2 avocado everyday, Swapped lettuce for spinach. Cheese everyday different types (I love cheese), Pure organic yogurt (nothing added, just milk and culture) with fruit.
2)I cut out the sugar as much as possible. I also make everything from scratch, so no jars of sauces. And I buy organic where possible. However I do still have the occassional frozen pizza
3) I gained 5lb so far. I do think that the exercise is helping me not gain too much. I have been on the diet since June and am eating way more than I every did before

Thxs so much for being so upfront. I'm sorry you were unsuccessful. Yes that's exactly how I see it. Regardless of how easy some people find it to conceive naturally, PGD/ ivf is so completely different. But of course if you are successful in getting pregnant then gender is virtually guaranteed. I'm waiting for SART to get back to mr. They say 43% success rate. I want to know if it's 43% first cycle or over a number of cycles. What is the HT forum?? Thxs and all the luck in the world for yourvsway x
