I have kind of but not completely been trying out the pink diet, incorporating elements from both FGD and LE. I'm a vegan. The greatest departure on this from my normal diet is that I'm eating a lot less fruit and veg and more grains. My husband and I are going to start TTC in 6 months.
I have found that eating this way has left me a lot more sluggish than normal, and worse, I tend to get constipated easily. Not fun.
So I've been doing some reading and thinking about the best way to go about both the diet and preparing for pregnancy, and have come up with a plan, so wondering if you guys think it's a good one. We're going to start TTC in March. The exercise regime will stay the same all the way through, daily morning Ashtanga yoga practice, 1 - 1 1/2 hours daily cardio, occasional core strength training to help with my scoliosis. Also, untill we're off birth control, I plan on using the sauna at my gym as much as possible, both because it's good for detoxing and negative ions can't hurt. Here goes.
Now (September) - November - Detox regime, main objective to clean out my system from the excesses of my 20s (I'm an ex-smoker and used to party), and to minimize the toxins that our unborn child will be exposed to. Consists of breakfast and lunch on weekdays being smoothies, soups, and/or raw fruits and veg, and any meals that I eat with my husband being normal cooked meals without much consideration given to swaying, yet. Though if in doubt, dinner will involve pasta or rice.
December - Christmas season. Use principles from previous few months, while making exceptions for holiday celebrations.
January - March - Begin swaying diet. Possibly after a little bit of further detoxing in January, with the diet in full effect by February. No alcohol at all, with an exception for my birthday, which is in late February and before we're off birth control. I'd also like to go through my birthday if possible without having to think about what's girl-friendly. Then my last AF on the pill falls in mid-March.
Feedback would be great, especially considering when I should start the diet, I think I began way too soon. Thanks. :-)
