I have kind of but not completely been trying out the pink diet, incorporating elements from both FGD and LE. I'm a vegan. The greatest departure on this from my normal diet is that I'm eating a lot less fruit and veg and more grains. My husband and I are going to start TTC in 6 months.

I have found that eating this way has left me a lot more sluggish than normal, and worse, I tend to get constipated easily. Not fun.

So I've been doing some reading and thinking about the best way to go about both the diet and preparing for pregnancy, and have come up with a plan, so wondering if you guys think it's a good one. We're going to start TTC in March. The exercise regime will stay the same all the way through, daily morning Ashtanga yoga practice, 1 - 1 1/2 hours daily cardio, occasional core strength training to help with my scoliosis. Also, untill we're off birth control, I plan on using the sauna at my gym as much as possible, both because it's good for detoxing and negative ions can't hurt. Here goes.

Now (September) - November - Detox regime, main objective to clean out my system from the excesses of my 20s (I'm an ex-smoker and used to party), and to minimize the toxins that our unborn child will be exposed to. Consists of breakfast and lunch on weekdays being smoothies, soups, and/or raw fruits and veg, and any meals that I eat with my husband being normal cooked meals without much consideration given to swaying, yet. Though if in doubt, dinner will involve pasta or rice.

December - Christmas season. Use principles from previous few months, while making exceptions for holiday celebrations.

January - March - Begin swaying diet. Possibly after a little bit of further detoxing in January, with the diet in full effect by February. No alcohol at all, with an exception for my birthday, which is in late February and before we're off birth control. I'd also like to go through my birthday if possible without having to think about what's girl-friendly. Then my last AF on the pill falls in mid-March.

Feedback would be great, especially considering when I should start the diet, I think I began way too soon. Thanks. :-)

Have you added fiber in to your sway? That can help both swaying and constipation.

The prob. with detoxing is that as bad as it sounds, toxins may sway pink. Proceed with caution if you're going to detox.

The rest looks great. I do think it's fine to have alcohol while swaying pink, but I realize you may be avoiding it for healthy pregnancy.

If you're not going to TTC until Feb/March, then yes, you started diet way too soon. 6-8 weeks of diet is plenty.

Confused, do you mean that the act of detoxing sways pink, or that toxins remaining in my system sways pink?

And if I start the diet, how often can I deviate from it and still have it be effective? I know that in February, Valentine's Day and my birthday are both going to be tricky for me.

Haven't added fiber, though I did up my dosage of acidophilis, which seems to help. Might try that if it helps with swaying. :-)

Toxins may sway pink by reducing overall fertility and lowering testosterone levels. Bear in mind that people conceived girls for hundreds of thousands of years without being exposed to modern-day toxins so they are in no way necessary, I just want you to be fully informed.

There's no hard and fast rule to how often you can deviate from diet - it's almost certainly different for each individual. 2 cheats are fine and in fact encouraged because it can help you stick to the diet overall. 20 cheats is not going to help you any!!

Acidophilus has helped one of my sons who has issues with constipation too. :agree:
