Increase cals above 2000 a day, eat 3 meals a day and 2-5 snacks, increase protein to 90-120 g, increase intake of healthy fats, 9-11 servings of colorful fruits and veggies a day, eat protein and carbs at every meal and snack, a good multivitamin for both you and DH and increase intake of folic acid to 2000 mcg a day.

Weight lifting, get plenty of sleep.

Avoid - fake sugar, high intake of sodium, high intake of nitrates and food preservatives, crash diets, chemicals like pesticides and industrial chemicals. Don't take megadoses of any vitamins or cut anynutrients out of your diet all together, even if you read it on other sites, it's not good for you.

your husband should avoid tight underwear, heat, excessive exercise, should not bike or run at all if possible, and taking steroids.
