I don't have PCOS. Just want to get that out the way because I already know I don't have it, unless I developed it very recently or something.

I used to have a too short-borderline LP (was 9-10 days). It was 12 days last month though :) And I used to O late, but this month I O'd at a good time.

But here is my situation: I took an OPK at 6dpo, because I've been wanting to see if my OPKs EVER go blank. Apparently not. But the OPK I took today was as dark as the test before I got my positive OPK this cycle.

so what I'm wondering is this: Does higher than average LH (when not ovulating) affect possibility of pregnancy or other hormones (like progesterone) at all? Is it common to have dark (not positive) OPKs at 6dpo?

I have never heard of this. Is this the first cycle this has happened to you? Or has it happened several times? Either you are pregnant which is possible at 6 dpo...positive ovulation tests after O can indicate pregnancy or another possibility is that some odd reason it just takes your body a really long time for your lh level to drop off after Oing ....but that seems very unusual. If you aren't pregnant this cycle I would call your doc's office and ask!

I do always have a line after O, but it's usually lighter (probably still darker then most people's, though, I guess). But usually it's not this dark. It's not a positive OPK or anything but it was surprisingly dark, even for me. HPTs are negative (and I have the SUPER sensitive kind) so I don't think it's that. But yeah, if I'm not pregnant I'll have to ask my doctor about it. I am on clomid for the first time, so maybe it's related to that. Blah. Nothing ever seems to be right with my hormones. I actually feel the opposite of pregnant this month, though. Normally when pregnant one of my first signs is exhaustion. Well, for the last year I've been so tired all the time that I actually went to the doctor for it thinking something was wrong. Then randomly, the last 2 days, I have been like bouncing awake at 6am and struggling to make myself go to sleep at midnight. I don't mind the sudden energy, but it's making me think my hormones must be off balance, and I worry about how that could affect TTC.
