I am CD 14 today and I normally get a positive ovulation test between CD14-16 and along with that I normally get a pain/cramping. We I am having the pain/ a little cramping but no positive OPK. Should be do out attempt tonight ( we are only doing one) or should I wait until I get a positive OPK. I am been using OPKs since may and I HAVE always gotten one.

If you're doing one attempt, you should wait for your positive opk. You said you usually get them between CD 14-16, right? And today is only CD 14....I'd wait!

You can get the pains before O. Its the egg swelling up in your ovary ready to pop out. I'd wait for the +

So I just checked my cervix and it is high, soft, and open. So, do you guys still think I should wait until I get one?

I mean if I don't ovulate for a couple of days I would just have a cut off.

Oh dear..hop of it tomorrow, that's why you aren't getting your pos opk. :(
That happened to me.. I was getting opks fading in and out so I hopped off on a Sun and the following Mon (one week later) got my pos opk.

I think we are just going to go ahead with the attempt tonight and give the rest up to God. I would rather just try to do it tonight and get a cut off than wait until its too late.. I might just not get a pos opk this month. opks aren't 100%

Hi Navywife I think you may O late as well. I was on Vitex & SP too long when I took it a couple months ago and did not get a pos OPK till over a week after I stopped taking them. I thought I would just get a pos OPK and then I would drop the these supplements, and didn't realize you should stop taking them before your anticipated +OPK.

I know, but Vitex can and will stop your ovulation. Even Atomic would tell you to hop off. But certainly go for the attempt! I'm not saying not to. ;)

You should stop Vitex as you see the dark line coming in... that's when you hop off. :)

Well I have been on vitex since may and it never delayed it.So we are just going to go with it and see what happens. I would rather do that than stress about opks for the next couple of days. If I dont get pregnant this month with a cut off, then on to next month! :)

Well we may be waiting after all. DH took his LR late this evening. And he's having a "hard" time. So I just said we will try tomorrow.

Got my positive opk this afternoon. So glad that DH couldn't go last night. Everything happens for a reason! So our official attempt is tonight, I made sure he took is LR this morning.

Originally we didn't realize quite how many people were having Vitex delay O and so we thought it would be ok just to wait for pos OPK and then stop. But it's happening to so many people that they just aren't Oing until they stop the vitex, so now some people are stopping a day or two before they expect a pos OPk and then waiting. We don't know what is best, just going off what's seemed to work for people.

Even if you O late, DH needs to stop LR at CD 14. No ifs, ands or buts, he needs the break for his health.

It can delay it even if it never has before, even if you've been on it months.
