Hello, I made an appt with my OBGYN for next week to hopefully get a clomid prescription. I sort of lied and said I have been TTC for over 6 months and havent been successful (no attempts yet). I am swaying girl, so I am hoping to get some clomid for the TTC. is there anything else I should be mentioning at the appt to up my chances for that clomid prescription? or will they do ultrasounds to determine ovultion?? thanks!

It depends on the OB. Some will just prescribe it to you, no question asked and no monitoring. Others will make you do a sperm analysis, as well as CD 3 blood work and an HSG. Some will monitor for mature follies and ovulation others won't. It really all depends on your OB.

What she said! Good luck getting it, but you can still have a good sway without it of course.

Maybe a bit late but my doctor has just prescribed me clomid - i said we'd been ttc since christmas (bit of fib) and that i was having irregular cycles with some with long time spotting first (true although didn't mention maybe down to vitex/sp). He referred me to the hosiptal for some tests, i asked if i could try clomid as i had a friend with similar symptoms and it worked for her. He gave me to try whilst i wait for the appt, had to ask and be a little firm but he gave me no tests etc.
Been taking for 4 days now but no side effects - hope it wasn't fake

that's really cool you got the clomid. I think I just messed up and went to a fertility OB rather than ask my primary care (she would have prescribed it) the OB told me that since I have had 2 healthy fast pregnancies and that my cycles are regular (stupid me for being too honest LOL) I should give it until end of this year, if I dont get preggers then, he will do the 'tests' for me...I just wanted to say,..just give me the damn prescription already LOL..but anyway I am sort of scared of the side effects, so thats why I wasn't too serious about it..:worry:

Atomic, I know this is a strange question, but if I could get clomid, do you suggest I take clomid over a natural sway?..since I get YI and have alot of EWCM...would Clomid be a better option for me? I am 30 yrs old. THanks

Wishing4princess I think Atomic has said before that she would take clomid ad diet over other natural options but not sure in relation to your YI.
Its a persoal choice and u need to be 100% happy with what you do as remember people still gets boys on clomid - Nothing is a magic bullet and works 100 % of the time.
Good luck what ever you decide

thanks for that quick reply! I know nothing is 100% but just the idea that clomid creates a hostile environment and dries out CM sounds good to me lol.. of course I would follow the diet as well.. It just scares me to see how much CM I get during OV. I always end up w. a YI when he releases inside me!!! I never use a condom or let him release inside me unless I need to get preggers. lol..it's always been withdrawal for us.

not sure about the cm thing, i have taken my clomid for the month now (first cycle) stopped 3 days ago and am getting tons of cm, is quire weird. Other than that think i may be experiencing weird moods, i feel quite short tempered and teary but could just been sick of ttc and horrid diet (am trying really hard not to cheat but have snuck a few biscuits in in addition to my dairylea sandwich and plain pasta, did so well first few months to grrrr)
no other symptoms though feel normal was expecting them

We don't know what is best, but I would always choose Clomid which we KNOW to sway, over vitex and SP and diet which are not proven.

Just because you have CM, doesn't mean that it isn't different in ways that the naked eye can't see.

Seriosly??? I have Clomid, but I am afraid of using it :( What if I have twins and they are premature and everything...I would blame myself for that....
It is a really tough decision to make.
If I take clomid, I still have to do the diet...what about the other things, aspirin, rephresh and antihistamines....
