I have had weird butt pressure since yesterday (about 24 hrs). I feel like I have to poop, but I don't. I am not having regular contractions--braxton hicks and an occasional more painful one, but nothing else. I am 38 weeks and have no idea if I am dilated or anything (dr hasn't checked me yet).
Has anyone else had this kind of pressure, and how long was it from the time the pressure started until labor began?

Huni, this sounds like you might be in labor in a 12-24 hours. Thinking about you, keep us posted! FX! :luck::luck::luck:

So I was having contractions--not painful, but regular--for a while this morning, so I went in and got checked. The contractions were apparently just braxton hicks, and I am not dilated at all, and even though she said the cervix is soft, it is still long. So that's good news--I wasn't ready for the baby to come yet! The nurse midwife I saw said she though I would make it another week. So I am trying to take it easy!
Also, she said the baby is laying with it's back to my back (sunny side up), which is what is causing the pressure--the baby's head is in my butt area and putting pressure.

Yup - all my babies were sunny-side up. All my labours involved terrible pressure in my bum and back. I hope your little one stays put for at least a week!
