View Full Version : TTC pink in October

Well as my O day should be around the 5th October I thought I would start an October TTC club. I'm optimistic for my pink attempt. What do you think?:
I've been on the LE diet religiously for three weeks now (having not had any breakfast and staying safely under 1600 calories, 50g protein and 50g fat maximum) and have lost about 8lbs! I'm not having any caffeine but am having a bit of red wine here and there; I'm at my lowest ever adult weight with a BMI of 19.7; I'm not taking the numerous vitamins and minerals I normally take; I'm drinking some aspartame drinks, which I've never done before; I'm doing no exercise where I normally would do a modest amount; I'm starting Rephresh tomorrow and going to use every three days; I'm going to take antihistamines (cetirizine) for the five days before O; DH cut down on red meat and caffeine and is drinking 3 cups of peppermint tea a day; DH started FR yesterday (9 days before first attempt) and wears tight-ish pants, but not taking LR as he's 40; planning to DTD on O-2 and on O-1 to increase chances of pregnancy as I don't want to lose too much more weight; not sure which position yet as there doesn't seem to be a consensus.
Have I covered everything? Thanks for any feedback and I look forward to seeing who else is in the October club x

Hi,
I think I'll be joining you too! This would be my second month trying although I think I missed the egg completely last month. My o day changes so much every month that I am either o'ing at the end of September or somewhere in the beginning of October. Your sway sounds good! My dh is not taking LR either sinces he's s smoker and overweight. We are going to do frequent bd everyday through o but im using spermicide on every attempt except for o-1. I only want one attempt for this month but will probably add more if there is another attempt next month. I am also doing Rephresh, peppermint tea. I stopped the vitex for this month since I have been using it for over six months and my last Af was light. I can't afford to lose anymore weight either since my bmi is 16.8 so I need to get preggers fast. I will have been on the diet about twelve weeks by my o day. I hope we both get our bfp's and ofcourse our pink beans! Good luck!

Hi everyone. I'm so glad you started an October thread! I was about to start one myself.
I started the le diet 5 weeks ago. Lost 11 lbs. so far. Just got my second PPAF and am hoping for an attempt this month. Bf'ing my 7 month old (DS3) so my cycles aren't regular. Last cycle I oed on cycle day 25!
Glad to have you ladies to go through this journey with!!!

I am hoping to be joining you in October, also! I just weaned my ds3 at 21 months in mid-August, and I got my first ppaf Sept 3 (although it was only 3 days of light spotting, so I'm not sure....) I was on the mini-pill and took my last pill on Sept. 13. I am really hoping I get AF within the next few days, and I am predicting I could possibly O around October 14. This is all very speculative, though. I am keeping my fingers crossed! I am also going to start temping, but I'm not sure how accurate it will be because I have to get up with my ds3 at night.
I will have been on the LE diet for about 7 weeks by the time I O (if I do O) then. I have lost 13 pounds already, going from a BMI of 23.2 to 21.1. We are not doing FR or abstaining, just dtd as usual, which is mostly every day.

I am. I have lost a lot of weight the last year, and I am down to 2 lbs underweight now. But I only have two more cycles with IUI's, then I move onto IVF, and I won't be on this diet anymore. I also don't follow the diet super closely. I don't eat breakfast, or red meat, but I do eat veggies, chicken, turkey etc. I actually have the diet down to a science now and it has helped my IBS. I don't think I will ever go back to eating how I used to.

Ooooooh some REAL food! I think I may write a food wishlist to get it out of my head! A list of all of the things I want to eat as soon as we get pregnant! I am a big foodie and have some restrictions to my diet due to food intolerances, so am finding the double restrictions a bit tricky. Happy that I've stuck to it really well though so no regrets if we have an unsuccessful sway. I will know I did enough. Fingers crossed for everyone :)

I feel the same. I will go back to eating some of the foods I am missing, but I understand more of where my calories come from than I did before, and I thought I already knew a lot about food. So will use those lessons to maintain my weight in the future. Definitely room for a few takeaways though!

I'm concerned I haven't been on the le diet long enough. I started on August 25th but have been vegetarian since June 10th with only two cheats. Since I'm breast feeding I wanted to wait to start the diet when ds 3 was 6 months when he started food. I have no idea when I'll O so hopefully it will be close to six weeks.
What do you ladies think???

Hi,
I will be Joining you to. I had an unsuccessful September attempt. I have not been very strict with my diet but have been following some very basic rules of Low-salt, no meat and low nutrition food.
I have been taking all the supplements I thought would help, so I am sure I don't have the best sway but I'm pretty happy with it.
We did FR from AF to OPK+ last month, this month we are going to drop back to try for a better results.
Good luck everyone

Fingers crossed for you. This FR stuff is hard work! Hubby has been doing two a day but it's getting hard now to make that second one! We may have to rely on one a day being enough. It's more than usual anyway which is a good thing. My boys are both grumpy this morning making me doubt my sanity altogether!

Hi girls, just joining in. This is my first cycle after my miscarriage. I'm now 22 days past the d&c and pretty sure I ovulated on day 20. We didn't have a super strict sway like last time but I did take vitex & SP and DH took LR plus we did a few other things. I've also lost 4kg since the miscarriage so hopefully that will help.

I agree about FR being hard work, we did it last time and DH was sooo over it by the time i got a +opk. Didn't do it this cycle because DH would only do if we BD and I REALLY wasn't up for it after the miscarriage when I was feeling so terrible. We just DTD a couple of times close to when I thought i'd O and then once when I got the +OPK.

I'm feeling okay now, the first few weeks were rough though. Now I know I've ovulated and we've made attempts for another pregnancy I'm feeling a lot better.
I was pretty surprised DH had such a hard time, silly me thought it would be no problem! I think it was because of the LR though so at least we know it was working.

I think I will be ovulating between the 12 and 15. I think this chemical will make me ovulate earlier.. I am not sure though. I had to order more OPK's since I am almost out. Oh and the LR did make my DH sex drive go way down we was taking 3 a day my AF-O. I think I am going to drop it down to 2 this month though. He hates them.

Joining you all in about a week! I just found this site so I have not had adequate time to sway but I am just trying to do what I can now. My first is a girl, 2.5 years old and I was shocked she was a girl because looking back she was a complete boy sway in every way and my husband comes from a long line of boys. I am pretty sure I will have a boy next cause its too late for me to make big changes. I have been taking prenatals, cal/mag and cranberry but now I am reading I shouldn't do these things. I also eat a boy diet. But we don't want to wait any longer due to spacing of the kiddos and if it takes awhile...any suggestions for last minute swaying? I am thinking of abstinence....Good luck to you all!!

Use it in the morning. Put the whole app inside you like a tampon.
When you go to the bathroom some might come out when you wipe. But it should not be leaking out a lot.

Hello ladies! I'll be joining you this month as our first attempt on the LE diet was unsuccessful - to be expected I guess. I'm happier that I'll have longer on the diet, around 6 weeks, but can't get a tarot reading out of my head that I had done back in May. She said I'd conceive a boy in Oct and at the time I thought I'd be pregnant by now, but it's looking more likely that she may be right!! 13 months of TTC though and I'd be over the moon to get a BFP this month even if it is baby boy number 3! I'm being strict on the LE diet, taking SP and will use Zirtek just before Ov. Last month was another good month for BFPs so hopefully we can make this one just as good!

It's really hard to be strict on anything when you're stressed. You can only do your best! I stopped BF nearly three months ago so I am not certain of my cycle either. I am just hoping that I get a +OPK two weeks after AF. That's what we're timing it to anyway. Fingers crossed!

I normally have 3 multigrain ryvita with lactose free cream cheese, a handful of grapes and a diet soda. Sometimes I have some french bread with a little butter or the cheese again and then have practically NO sodium the rest of the day! I don't eat much salt so that's not too hard for me. Homemade hummous is nice on homemade bread as you can cut out the salt in both then. For dinners I am having lots of veggies, rice, potatoes, pasta and beans. I've done more creative cooking lately than I normally do but have discovered some things I will cook again (like black bean burgers in homemade spelt burger buns). Definitely want a BFP this month as I miss my meat!

Yes it does but without it I have trouble getting to 1200! I have been having a glass of red wine here and there for the same reason! I looooooooove dark chocolate with hazelnuts, but that's super high in fat so have been just having a square or two of dark choc. I've been making very low fat muffins with carrot and apple in them and popping a couple of them as my "third" meal of the day if I need the calories. Yum but not as nice as Lindt choc!

Well I had a +opk yesterday and another this morning. By this afternoon they were negative so I know I am definitely o-ing tomorrow.
I know I am not taking in the 1200 calories -- deliberately b/c I have not been strict on the diet for months.
Since af I have been eating 1000 calories max (minus 4 of the days when I took in a little more). But yesterday, today and tomorrow I am only eating 1x at 2pm and only about 500-600 calories of white rice and parm chz. for the day. Drinking tons of CL. It has been sucky but I feel that by dtd everyday thru o I gotta let my body know for sure the glucose, nutrients and calories are low right now.
I have lost about 6-7 lbs. since af two weeks ago.
I am not using zyrtec or rephresh either. I feel that rephresh was killing all the swimmers and my ph is already in the 4/5's. And this month, I have no ewcm -- next to no cm at all. Its watery, but I am dry. So certainly no zyrtec for me cause there is nothing to dry up. Maybe the low calories is causing me to have such little cm.\
Anyhow -- I pray that dtd daily will get me pg this month because I really really really miss my meat.

I try and get to 1500 too but seem to eat far more food to get there than most of the posts I see! I end up having lemonade and chocolate to get up higher! Not often you feel you are allowed to eat chocolate and sweet things ;)
Watch the chocolate. It contains antioxidants, so you really shouldn't be going crazy with it. I only eat a little every once in awhile as a cheat treat.
ETA: I would be especially careful with dark chocolate. It's even healthier than milk chocolate.

You're right. Red wine is arguably healthy too! :)
I was taking high levels of vits and minerals including many antioxidants so hopefully the change will have been severe even with a bit of choc. I always thought dark was better for you than milk but didn't realise how much saturated fat it contained!
Vague line on the OPK so we're getting close!

Is anyone else getting headaches on this diet? I'm assuming it's the aspartame as I NEVER normally have any artificial sweeteners. Can't think what else it can be as I am a good water drinker.

Hi everyone - I will be doubly trying this month as I have attempts on 1st and 29th! I think the attempt on the 1st was a bit of a (un)dress rehearsal as was O+ 20 hrs due to DHs work.
What I am doing sounds similar to the rest of you (which is comforting) Strict LE diet, no breakfast or snacks, peppermint tea, diet coke, antihistamines, rephresh, vitex, FR, hot bath, one attempt per cycle, DH eating less meat more soya and joining in the Le diet a bit as it is easier for dinners:). I have to work on my diet a bit more as am coming in at about 1000 calories and stupidly under fat, potassium, sodium etc. Have lost 11 lbs in 5 weeks and don't have that much more to lose but am worried that if I eat too much more my body will think that the good times are back so will step it up by about 100 cals a week.
Are you ladies stopping antihistamines and aspartane during 2ww?
Good luck to all of us!

Sounds good! I'm definitely stopping antihistamines and aspartame during the 2ww. I can't wait in fact! Going to stick to everything else in the diet though until the BFP (she says positively!)

hi ladies will be joining you here to as got af yesterday. this will be 7 month ttc now. although first 4 were stupidly wasted ttc after o. the last two months bd through o but still got bfn. so last month dh took break from lr, i dropped rephresh and took zyrtec three days only. had no ecwm and normally have loads. also we did fr bur since o came early cd 13 (due to vitex) we only got 4 tries in before dtd twice on cd 13. not many attempts i know but still had some hope. so question now is this month do i drop vitex ( not really sure if it makes sense; it makes my cycle shorter and brings o forward) and does dh stay off LR aswell. do we try even less fr and just bd 5 days through o and/ or should i drop cranberry supps and zyrtec?? so many uncertainties and that is certainly not helping stress levels every month or helping me conceive. i am not temping this month either in the hope of staying more calm!!! wishing you all lots of bfps this month!!!!

Hi Heidi1977 I'm not sure that I would drop anything yet.
If you were trying after o you had very little chance of conceiving especially as it is easy to be a bit off with pinpointing O so might have been trying more than 24 hrs after O. That means you have only really trying for 3 months which is quite normal even for people not trying. I know you want to get pregnant asap but don't panic yet - at your age it took my sister 6 months with no swaying tactics at all! Also don't beat yourself up about the number of attempts you get in - I only managed 1 with my last pregnancy :)
Good luck

Heidi,
You might do better to post this as a separate question on the forums. Atomic will see it & can offer some good advice about your situation.
I agree, something needs to give...you can't get your desired gender if you can't get pregnant.
I've been at it a while now, too...I can completely relate.
Good luck!!

I only took two zyrtec this cycle, and i may not take any if i don't get a bfp this time since i rarely have any EWCM. I don't do any aspartame after O either. I am so anti aspartame anyway since it's a neurotoxin, Its been a struggle to drink it before O!

Such exciting times! I tested yesterday and the day before twice each day (making sure I hadn't had too much water to drink as the instructions say) and all four have had a very pale line on them. I'm assuming that's a positive OPK as I was expecting to O tomorrow. Assuming this is right we DTD last night (so I think that was O-2) and will do again tonight (O-1). Do you ladies think that was logical? DH had been FR for 8 days before the first attempt and has released again this morning. So we're giving ourselves two attempts. I can't decide whether to have another go on O day and give it three attempts but don't want to increase the numbers of sperm too much and sway blue! Tricky tricky. Wish there was more research into all of this!

October 7th, 2012, 07:48 AM
As the OPKs continued to show a pale line through to CD15 we've just kept on going as I've no idea when/if I ovulated. We've been doing one release and one attempt every day for the two days before and after expected O as I'm not sure when it was! Hopefully the FR for 8 days before this plus continuing to release will keep sperm numbers low, while represh keeps pH low. Gonna have to wait till at least 11DPO to test as really don't know about O date! Excited and nervous now :)

I'm just bummed and frustrated. We can't really do FR so we did abstinence. I usually ovulate around cycle day 16 but I started OPK's on CD 14 and they have all been negative since and now I'm on cycle day 19. I had EW on cycle day 16. So far this month, we only BD on CD 9 and CD 16. I am not sure if I ovulated early or if not at all?? Next month, I am starting OPKs after period. I am just putting so much pressure on myself because I do not want a huge gap between my kids and we are already moving towards 3.5 years. Plus with wanting a girl, I am eating so much less healthier than I have ever have. I know stress is bad, but this is starting to stress me out! Thanks for letting me vent...I hate knowing I am already out this month!!!

I'm trying this month...I am nearing 40 so I don't want to waste too much time. I am not too good on the diet since I just started going through all the info. (Tons of info here, which is awesome!) I did Rephresh yesterday CD 6 and will do that every 3 days, and will BD starting tomorrow, every day til positive OPK. I've never seen a positive OPK so I hope I don't mess that up. This is definitely our last baby so I am totally hoping for a girl. Do you think the Rephresh and DTD each day with cut off will be enough? I've also been drinking CL, taking a little cranberry supp and bought peppermint tea today.

You may not be out though. My OPKs were vague last month and this but I still seemed to have a normal cycle so I'm blaming the test sticks! This site is such a great place to vent worries and stuff isn't it. I'm anything from 5 to 8 DPO and experiencing some symptoms like huge hunger and more EWCM than usual but am trying to ignore it really as who knows! I am also planning on waiting until at least 10DPO to test. Hope I stick to that!

I thought I ovulated on Oct. 3, but my cervix just opened yesterday, so that tells me I have not ovulated yet. I am doing opks, temping, and checking cervix/cm to try to determine when I O. I may have to wait until November. :( I am really hoping to be pregnant by Christmas!

Hi Everyone! I'm joining you too in October...should have an O on Oct31 or Nov1. I have one DS and am hoping to have a girl next. I started losing weight 6wks ago on a low-carb diet and once I found this site I switched to the LE diet. So I'll have 3 weeks on that before O. I had held perfectly stead at 153 for 18months prior to this. So being 140ish now is drastic for me. I'm nervous because I think I'm just really really fertile in general. I usually have TONS of EWCM. I had my first DS without trying at CD17. And my cycles have been perfectly regular 28 days & O at CD15-16. And I got my cycles back PP 2months with my DS1. I'm guess I'm just not sure how easy it will be to lower my already high fertility, especially since I've just been doing the diet for 3 weeks. I'm also worried because I am very fit (lots of muscle) which doesn't go away easily since I have figure skated since I was 3. I am also very high-energy so I'm worried about testosterone levels.
But enough of that, here are the things I'm proud of:
Things I'm doing to lower Ph: acidophilus 2tabs/day, Rephresh every 3 days AF-O
Things I'm doing for ions: lavendar oil
Things I'm doing to follow LE diet: Drastically reduced salt/calories/protein/fat and stopped taking strong multi-vitamins. I was probably eating 2000-2500 cals/day easily. I work out 3-4x/wk and have always been active so I burn it. I am also still BF my 23m DS1 2x/day. I know I was probably getting +2000mg of Sodium each day. New goals are: 1600 cals, 40-50g protein, 50-60g fat, 800mg Sodium. DH is cutting salt and having 2-3 8oz glasses of pure cranberry juice too.
BD Plan: DTD at CD12 (O-3) and CD13 (O-2) and JD ... try monitoring with OPK (never done it before) to see if it says O at CD15-16 like usual. DH FR CD5-12. Rephresh full applicator CD6 and CD9 and finger tip morning of CD12 and CD13.
Here is my regular day at a glance:
Strong Peppermint Tea 2-3x/day in the morning and evening
1st Meal at 10am or pushed to 12pm if possible consisting of non-fat greek yogurt and a slice of low-sodium cheese
2nd Meal at 1-2pm with small iceberg lettuce salad with a few tomatoes/onions with balsamic dressing and 1 serving white pasta with unsalted butter and 1tbsp parmesan cheese (and occasionally 4 chips and 2 tbsp low-sodium salsa for a treat!)
3rd Meal at 7-8pm with either white rice/yogurt/2oz chicken all mixed up or a pita with 1-2tbps hummus and sliced cucumbers (and pizza dough sliced thinly and baked and rolled with non-salted butter and cinnamon sugar for a treat)
Drinks: Water plus 1-2 8oz glasses of pure cranberry juice
Supplements: 1-2tabs acidophilus, 800mg folic acid
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Well, I guess we are in the 2ww now.
We dtd on cd 8 and 9 after abstaining for probably 10 or 11 days. I didn't read about the not abstaining for us older couples until after we did it. Editing to add we did J&D and shallow release.
Anyway, I still have not had a positive opk, but I think I must miss mine, I've never seen a positive one.
I have had ewcm today and yesterday (days 9 and 10) but we dtd yesterday because I was still getting the negative opks...
I did use about half a tube of rephresh a couple of hours before dtd, so maybe that will help.
I've been a bit under the weather too so I have not been eating very much the past couple of days.
Also I got my ph test strips in the mail today and it was 4.5, so I am hopeful.
Lastly my cervix was high, soft and open today, so despite no positive opk, I think I am probably o'ing today or tomorrow. We'll see what the temp spike says tomorrow. To be safe, we won't dtd tonight plus I don't think DH could handle a 3rd day. He didn't want to last night, so ironic that it's usually me that doesn't want to. LOL
Anyway, I hope that my very lazy sway will result in a BFP GIRL! I am not big on the diet, but try to eat less, drink tons of CL...do you think that may be enough?

yeah i agree the diet totally sucks! we dtd cd 12, 13, 15 & 16 pretty sure i o'ed d 15. Not really hopefully this month as last 4 or 5 months have been bfn....also the 12 days before o was home visiting my family and my mum was cooking meat dishes left right and centre. Avoided some but not all so a little red meat for me in the last two weeks...really hope that doesn't go against my sway, but being on this diet for over 4 months it's getting really hard to keep up the motivation to continue!!! hopefully lots of us will get bfps and be put out of our dieting misery!!!!

Hi all,
I have been reading this website for a while and this is my second post. I posted some of this in the 'what we did to get boys' thread too, but would love any opinions on my past experience, and current sway!
DS1 - No idea about O as I was completely naive to that all back then, frequent bd since we were on honeymoon, every other day, sometimes twice. I drank alcohol but only sometimes, and not that much. I had 1 'real' coffee a day (latte) and drank decaf tea frequently. Also drank green tea and chai tea made from leaves. Hardly any dairy in my diet due to lactose intolerance, so I drank a LOT of soy milk. I drank a lot of orange juice. I took vitamins daily, had been on centrum for years. I ate super healthy, lots of vegetables and fruit, very mixed and varied diet. I was eating slightly more calories back then, than with DS2, i'd say around 1800 - 2000 a day. If I ever binged it would be salty things like chips and dip, or I would sneak some soft cheese despite being intolerant. I did eat a lot of red meat, chicken and fish, and rarely ate vegetarian dishes. Lots of pasta, tomatoes, spinach etc because I cook lots of italian food. NEVER skipped breakfast, but didn't ever eat a lot either. I had musli or oats for breakfast or if in a rush, toast with vegemite (salt!). Never drank soft drink (soda) and watched salt intake as a rule, however like I said my binge foods were salt-laiden, even though I didn't binge often. We were on the pill and taking malaria tablets for holiday o/s, didn't know malaria tablets can cancel the pill and hey presto - pregnant!
DS2 - I had read a tiny bit about swaying and this time bubs was planned, I was on prenatal multivitamin AND high dose folic acid, no idea why but my doc put me on 5000mg (megafol 5). I tried the shettles method for TTC girl, 3-5 days before - FAILED! Got pregnant 2nd cycle off pill. However I do think my diet was still bad for TTC girl. I was still drinking orange juice daily, still having coffee and tea, lots of soy milk and lots of varied fruit and veg. Little dairy.
I believe my ph was naturally around 7 (higher with ds1 possibly) because this time, before I started swaying for baby 3, I tested ph and it was 7. After cranberry and acidophilus (inner health +) It was 5, and with diet now 4 to 4.3. I can see the supplement's biggest benefit is changing ph. I was eating 1200-1400 calories a day and going for walks most days. Fruits included banana, apple, orange, grapes, mango etc. Veggies included potatoes (often), avocado, spinach, tomato, broccoli, peas, corn, carrots etc. Ate lots of olives and other salty things like spicy tomato salsa.
With both boys I had lots of CM (maybe due to soy intake).
This time i'm heavily on dairy, stopped soy milk entirely, on cranberry, folic acid and inner health +, was on calcium but stopped after reading lots on here about how it may not work and may even increase nutrients so much it sways boy. Focussing on reducing salt and potassium and eating 1200-1500 calories a day. Jogging or fast walks most days. No red meat, chicken, fish. Bland diet with few veggies and few fruits (only approved ones like raspberries, eggplant etc). Lots of milk and cheese, despite the ill effects. Loosing weight. Bd once in 7 days, so trying once a week before predicted O, then trying for O+12 as well. No rush to get pregnant as this is my last so I don't mind reducing my changes by fewer attempts. Taking antihistamine a few hours before bd. DH hot shower before bd. BMI is 20 and dropping, i'm loosing weight on this diet which I HATE. I was so healthy before! No tea or coffee, occasional peppermint tea, and daily 1 x decaff late made at home with skim milk (it's my one vice, I miss the taste and its still cold here so I can't bear to stop hot drinks entirely). If I ever cheat it's eating chocolate which I don't love, but all my friends with girls (about 10 of them) seem to have one thing consistent, they diet, but when they cheat its sweet, usually chocolate. I don't cheat often but it holds me off having chips or salty things.
Have been on the diet about 6 weeks now. Getting better as I go. Have eaten some read meat but very infrequent and much less than before. For dinners: about 3 vegetarian meals a week, 1 fish and 3 chicken. Lots of eggs instead of meat. skipping breakfast or where I can't, having raspberry jam on toast. Trying not to snack (BIG STRUGGLE) but if I do it's raspberries and yoghurt. Would kill for an avocado or some mushrooms and spinach but saying NO!
Trying to chart BBT but often get woken up by 3 year old too early and forget. Watching cm and using known cycle length with iPeriod app to estimate O. Trying to get better at BBT. Know my coverline now so that's something. Watching for the dip before spike. Should O on 26th. Also using OPK's although I didn't get a + last month, think that was due to coming off pill. I had one period when I stopped, then another starting 6th Oct (34 day cycles), so this month I will O for sure. Almost positive that happened with ds2. Not convinced timing works but trying the abstain thing then twice 7 days apart. Can't be bothered to bd every day and dh won't do it himself and dump it (fair enough) that takes it too far in my book and no romance! Douched last cycle but now my ph is low no need to.
I dont drink alcohol now either. Or orange juice!!
oh and dh taking calcium (2 tabs a day) and cranberry (2 tabs a day) and has cut down to 1 coffee a day from about 8!
Any other tips?

So I know I am out this month cause I never had a positive OPK. I'm on CD 24 of a typically 30-31 day cycle. I decided to start temping again. I had high temps for the past fews days and then this morning, a dip. I have creamy CM and then I take an OPK and its pretty much positive! WTH??? Any advice?

are you taking Clomid? I would say that you might be Oing later this month. Maybe your cycle is off a bit? Mine was late this momth cd18 and it lengthened my cycle to 32 days. I am guessing it could have caught the end of your surge? With me I surge for days and if you did not catch it before in your cycle maybe you just got it by accident of the end of it? But if you cm changes to watery or EG, that would give you more confirmation if you are Oing. Are you able to check you cervix to see if its open or not? as far as temping is you temp over your normal coverline?

I have a new question.
So we did abstain leading up to O this month, dh abstained 6 days then we bd last night. This morning I got my first ever +opk, which apparently means I will O in next 12-36hrs.
Do I bd again tonight to try and get O+12 OR do I not bd at all and hope that the girls get up there from our attempt last night, which was probably 24-36hrs before I O'd.
According to Atomic's instructions for abstain I either have to stop now and hope we got there (don't really mind waiting another month since this is our 3rd and final child) or dh would have to release himself tonight then we try again. And to be honest neither of us are comfortable with that, I hate it being so clinical.
Annoyingly I had the big O last night during bd too, which is bad for girl, but I did take antihistamine before. dh forgot to hot shower first, hoping abstain was enough to get us there.
Do I try again tonight and make dh hot shower first? or just leave it and wait and see if it was close enough to O to conceive???

New here from IG :)
Our attempts were a week and a half ago...hanging out for the 2ww. 10 dpo and BFN. I shed a lot of tears today...but if I remember correctly I never got a BFP until at least the day of my period. What do you all think? I am such a POAS addict. I started at 7dpo!
I have read where some women don't get them until 14-18 dpo. What are your experiences? Should I be planning my next sway or keeping my hopes up? In the past?

Hi Jacqueline
With my first ds I didn't test positive for 6 weeks!!! Obviously by then af had not arrived and I had a blood test confirm, so it's possible, yes. With ds2 I tested positive from date af was due, and believe me I am also a poas addict and tested every day!
I'm currently waiting too, 6 dpo tomorrow and will test from then! I'm just dying to EAT! The second I see a plus I am getting busy eating tons! Also very much hoping for a positive because I can't keep loosing weight or I will be too unhealthy. Am at my lowest adult weight now, so fingers crossed.

I got a VERY faint BFP with FRER this morning! However, I am skeptical. I took my multi vitamins before bed so my urine was very yellow. Can this make a difference?

BIG CONGRATULATIONS!!!! And I do not think the vitamins can affect a HPT! If you see a line faint or not it's supposed to be POSITIVE!!!

No vitamins can't cause a false positive, nothing can! You can have a false negative but not false positive. Yellow urine if anything would be good because it shows its very concentrated not diluted.
How many dpo are you now??

CD14 +Smiley OPK and PEAK on monitor!!!! DTD already this am and going to later this evening!!! Never got PEAK except first month using monitor and that has been so long ago at CD22. I guess taking my Clomid on CD1-5 might do the trick this time LOL!

Amazing news, congrats! Tell me, are you going to use the intelligender urine test at 10 weeks, or wait to find out the sext at the 18-20 week scan (I'm in Australia so it may be different for you?). I won't be able to wait, so whenever my BFP happens (I'm 7dpo today, waiting, waiting) I will be hanging out for my 10 week moment to test. Previous pregnancy intelligender was accurate for me, and also 2 of my close girlfriends, even though it is very expensive. I will be looking so closely on my ob's ultrasound machine at each visit too!!
OMG and you can go off the diet now too! How lucky! Can you tell I'm going mad? I've become a PCOS addict and stalking the forums for diet tips, constantly updating my sway. I need a BFP soon before I go mad, or die of starvation!!!!! ;-)

Quick question for you all who are reading this thread ... this is my first month trying out all this advice for ttc a girl ... and also my first month using opks. I just got a +opk this afternoon which is CD15. We DTD on CD10, CD11 and CD12. I wish we would have done CD13 as well, then I wouldn't be worried. But at this point, if i O sometime in the night, it will be just over 72 hours since our last BD. Anyone here gotten a BFP after DTD 4 days before O? Or do you know someone who has? We'd really love to get pregnant this month. There isn't really a rush; its just a feeling. Should we just wait it out? Or should we do it one more time tonight with DH doing a FR and a hot shower beforehand and me doing a little rephresh? I'd love any thoughts you might have either way!!!!

I don't think timing sways, so I say go for it again for good measure or wait it out if you aren't in a rush.

We did decide to DTD. It was a weird night...DH got home late, we had babysitters coming over, and we had a wedding to get to. He didn't have time to hot shower or anything, but I took a Zyrtec earlier and I JDed immediately...like 5-10seconds afterwards. It seemed like everything came out. We had been doing FR CD2-12 but not CD13-14. Oh well, atomic said she got her DD on the night of her +opk so here is hoping that I will too!!!!!
