Pearl,
Anything you can do to keep yourself busy to pass the time?
No Need, AF arrived this morning a day early, I knew I was getting the tell tale signs yesterday
So is this your month n710, How many more days ?
Pearl327
October 3rd, 2012, 08:05 AM
So I have picked myself up and dusted off the self pity and dissapontment and decided that October is going to be the month (I was always a little apprehensive of Sept and the 2 day AF) This is the month that we had originally planned to start TTC after all.
So who is with me

ME!
Very nervous as this really may be our only month of TTC. The timing for next month plus 9 months is not good for a month or two, so if it doesn't happen this month it's either off for good or until January. We'll see what happens. Trying not to focus on the outcome too much and be fatalistic. Still have a couple days before O.

Pearl, sorry about the bfn, but at least you get another try at perfecting anything that you may have wanted to this month!!!
n710, I truly hope that this will be your month aswell then, as January just seems an age away doesnt it! But then if you think about it with xmas and halloween and the rest of it its probably the best time to have a break as the other distractions will keep your mind off of things. But my moneys on a ohw for you ;)
Well we put little Dave in his big cot now! And of the 4 nights he's been in there he has slept through completely for nights 2 & 3! Last night I must have had to feed him about 5 times so we will see what happens tonight. I think tat if my cycles do return though that I will skip month 1, I don't think I have the strength to get xmas ready for the gang whilst having early m/s??? But again we will see

Hi All! Im not officially TTC for a few more months but have been getting on track with my diet and weight training and started taking my supps a couple weeks ago! Figured I could use a little chit chat since im starting to get nervous!
What is everyone taking for supplements?
Good luck to everyone TTC this month!!
ELP
October 4th, 2012, 03:39 PM
Welcome 4Giffins :)
I take
Fish oil, coconut oil, prenatal, vit D, folic acid, royal jelly and a teaspoon of wheatgrass powder each day. I rattle:bigsmile:
I am hoping to add in a bee pollen complex aswell when I decide to wean Dave off of the boob, when I started it before he started to get orange poo, I am wondering if it was affecting his milk at all and may have added to his reflux?? The bee complex is a personal choice as you have to be careful incase you develop a bee allergy, for me I really feel the benefits of bee pollen which is why if the time comes I will add it back in:)
What are you taking???
4Giffins
October 4th, 2012, 04:35 PM
Sounds great ELP!
I am taking some of the same so thats reassuring! :) Im taking the royal jelly pee pollen (in honey mixture), Vit D, Vit E, FA, Fish Oil, Womens 1ADay Multi vit, Grape Seed Extract and will be adding a Wheatgrass supp as soon as it arrives! Was on L-arg this cycle also but dropped that after having considerably less EWCM! The RJBP does seem to have good results from what little info I was able to find so I figure its worth a try! Is the Coconut oil for EWCM? Im still debating on EPO but really dont want to try anything that has a history of messing with O..
Was your little Dave a successful sway?? Very exciting!!
ELP
October 4th, 2012, 05:44 PM
yes he was 4G :)
I'm sure atomic posted a caution anout the larg messing with cm? in the helpful herbs for blue section maybe???
4Giffins
October 4th, 2012, 06:20 PM
Oh that's great! Is there anything you plan to do different this time TTC?
Yes she did! That along with less EWCM is why I figured id better just give it to DH..
TTC5
October 4th, 2012, 06:55 PM
Stay away from l'arg!!!

October 5th, 2012, 12:16 AM
i'm starting my supplement next week this is what i have on my list so any other suggestion would be great vitafusion(i heard a few mum that are swaying blue that this) evening primrose oil folic acid i never took any vitamins with any of my 4 daughters
ELP
October 5th, 2012, 02:02 AM
welcome over bec :) vitafusion is a new one to me so I have no advice there but I would def add a fish oil aswell as the epo, fish oil helps you build muscle faster and a wheatgrass supp of some sort chock full of nutrirnts. plus some extra vit D !! they would be my essentisls :)

4G and Bec - for my sway all I took vit D, fish oil and a prenatal.

October 6th, 2012, 06:22 AM
Anyone, Does your temp rise then drop before O or just drop????
4G I am taking One A Day, Vit D., Folic Acid, Gelatin (I am a vegetarian), Krill oil
I also taking 4 wheatgrass tabs/day, but the bottle says 7 at each meal-just can't do so not really sure if it counts.
DH is taking One A Day, vit. D, gelatin, l'arg, fish oil (He only eats meat 1-2 times a week)
Robitussin and Preseed for TTC

October 6th, 2012, 12:50 PM

4G - my baby making days are over, I'm hanging out strictly for support, but when I conceived DS we didn't use anything. The fish oil had created so much ewcm that extra lubrication wasn't needed.

I know, I can't help it! its definately some kind of addiction?? I find myself trying to get an end figure in mind then something will trigger me in to some kind of a frenzy and I feel I have to be pregnant right this second lol!! Theres a local lady who I speak to sometimes whos mum had her last of 17 at 45, that would give me 8 years for 8 more, but just how crazy does that sound, am I really gonna be in that position? I don't know, maybe!! So I may aswell sway boy for a while, just to really test out this swaying theory:bigsmile: Then half way through I may want to switch to team pink! I can be a real guinea pig:rofl:

Update on my current situation!! Kids are in their toddler bed bunk beds and Davys in his cot!! He has gone between waking 5 times to 0 times and now is at once a night, I wonder if things will trigger off soon?? So I have stepped up my swaying, I have to stay away from the white bread and sweets and Ive brought some nuts, apricots and figs, so when the sweet tooth hits I can grab the fruit! I just need to get DH to start taking a 1 a day over 50's and a Co q10 again and things will be pretty similar to how we got Davy, I wonder if it will work???!!! Its getting quite exciting really:)
ELP
October 8th, 2012, 07:04 AM
Sonia, this is what I do and will do now for food:)
Breakfast
Weetabix or oatmeal/porridge sweetened with sultanas and with a tablespoon of peanut butter stirred through
Lunches
I will make an extra big dinner the night before or keep the kids leftovers and add them to some pre boiled potatoes from the fridge, fry it up with some grated cheese, deliciuos!! If we have had rice or pasta the night before then I will replace this with the potatoes as white rice and white pasta are on my personal food avoid list:agree:
If I don't have any of the above then a stash of tinned soups, the meat and veg ones are perfect aswell:)
And of course scrambled eggs or fried, cheap and instant!
Tip: Boil a kg bag of potatoes one morning and keep ready in the fridge, they last a few days and can be used to bulk up any quick boy meal, either fried with onion and ham, or added to bolognaise mix or eaten cold with cheese and pickle with some salad:agree:*
Tip: Buy some Apple Cider Vinegar with the Mother attached and use as a delicious salad dressing with some salt and pepper, I sometimes make a quick cheese salad for a bedtime snack, chuck in a few peanuts, fantastic!
Tip: I also buy frozen ready cooked chicken breast, plain or flavored, either bbq or tikka, then in I can leave a couple to defrost in the fridge in a tub again for a quick grab and go boy ingredient :agree:
Dinner
Omellettes boiled potatoes and salad, cheap and theres always eggs in the fridge:agree:
Bolognaise but I swap the pasta for potatoes
Roast meat and veggies:)
Large pot of meat casserole, this can last a few days in the fridge for your lunches aswell:agree:
Curry and chips/ french fries
These are pretty much rotated in my house, big, easy, cheap and cheerful:bigsmile:

October 8th, 2012, 07:09 AM
Now I DO choose to try and avoid some foods, this is only because I can binge on certain empty foods quite happily so it is better for me to just cut them out as much as possible.
The foods I try to avoid
White bread - This causes me YI around ov time and gives me terrible bad moods!! Plus I can happily eat 6 slices of buttered toast as a meal with nothing else, total stodgy empty calories
Sweets and chocolate - Again a family sized bar of chocolate is a regular lunch of mine, empty calories no nutrition
White pasta - Another one I can eat tons of with just a bit of tomato sauce chucked on top, its pretty much bread but in a different shape!
White rice - Not much nutrition but fills my belly, better off putting something better in there instaed, even some chips/french fries!
Thats pretty much what I will avoid:)

Pearl you must be next week!!
Yep this day week should be my O day, so will be getting plenty of attempts in this weekend (A walk on the beach 5 mins from my house is as far away from as I will be going this weekend, v different from the last 2 months). I am just back from a girls weekend in Edinburgh and I think my legs may fall off with all the hills in that city, and I managed to eat HE and drank only red wine. So proud of myself for sticking with it because travelling as a veggie on HE can be difficult.

I think it is the empty calories of sugar on its own that is the problem, so if you are having your morning coffee with eggs or other high protein breakfast options then it should be ok.

Hi All,
Very busy weekend and we were away for a night so not on. Yes, officially past O.
My temps were a bit funny, so I am not sure when I O's. They went up, then down the next morning, then up again. Today they are further up. so not positive when I O'd, but got attempts in so we'll see.
I am trying not to think about it too much and unfortunately, I was a little hungry on sat which is when I think I did O because we were out and in the middle of stuff so I missed lunch. I can't worry about it now though.
If it doesn't work this month we are either not trying at all and taking it as it wasn't meant to be or we'd try in January. The next few months don't work out timing wise. DH was unsure about TTCing again anyway and I can see some of his points so I am going to try and really remember all the pros and cons so if this doesn't work it doesn't feel so bad.
Whew, anyway glad the stress of attempting is over. DH was very excited and drank and ate some crappy food.

Hi ELP.

ELP any sign of your cycles returning
n710 how many DPO are you now and when are you going to test ?
Sonia I too find it hard to stick to HE when away from home but I think as long as the overall trend is gaining then the odd day here and there shouldn't make too much difference.

Pearl! funny you should say that because I am pretty sure I am cd2!! I had a little spotting on Mon night, and it has carried on since then, not heavy but I wont complain ther lol!! My cycles are usually 31 days so that would mean attempt around ??? the 26th?? I will have to think whether to attempt or skip this 1st month?? I think I will probably attempt, may aswell I have been doing what I should be doing really so why not!!!!

Sonia-Trail mix is the easiest thing I can find for staying on the HE diet away from home. I make up my my own and always have it in the car too if I am out a lot in the morning
Pearl-Let's see, I am only 5dpo, man it really goes by slow. I hate the wondering because I don't want to get my hopes up, but also want to think positive.
I am definitely not testing early though. I feel so sad when I read about others' chemicals and I don't want to get really excited to be let down.
This is pretty much our one shot month too, so I will be pretty nervous testing. I keep trying to think of things to make myself feel better if it's negative. Like I can focus on my kids now and we'll have an even number of kids and then there is no one in the middle. Anyway, we'll see if it helps next week.
I will test next Friday and my daughter's B-Day party is the next day so I'll definitely have a distraction if negative.
ELP-Go for it-you'll be thinking about it anyway;)

+ OPK this morning after a medicinal DTD, it is very good cure for headcolds
We were unsure as to whether or not to go for it since myself since last Wed has been laid low with a headcold and DH since Friday has got the infinitely more serious MANFLU :nails: But then neither of us want to put if off another month even if it is not our best sway.

Thanks dream member.
I have been avoiding dairy and sugar, we are vegetarians so no meat. I have been eating two bananas everyday since last month, L-arg tablet, green tea, potessium tablet, folic acid tablets. I have been drinking BS water 3x a day since last 1.5 weeks. yesterday I did BSF.... i don't want to do it again though. Today should be my ovulation day but i am confused because of two diffrent results on diffrent kind of OKP. If we do BD tonight... i will use preseed jelly, Red bull for my husband and doggy style. Thats the plan.

Thanks Pearl and ELP!!!!
I am definitely keyed up, so haven't been on much because I am trying not to think abut. That second week of the 2WW is the killer!
'
Unfortunately, my temps have gone down the last 2 mornings:( So, I am trying to prepare myself for the BFN.
It's hard though because this was our month to try. We may or may not try again in January. We were sort of being fatalistic about trying one month and that's it. DH was more for stopping at 4 kids.
For me, this really started as wanting to try for a boy, but I have also realized there is a big part of me that wants another baby period. I be thrilled with a boy, but at the same time if we did get pregnant and it was a girl then I would have 4 girls instead of 3 and then less of a chance for one of the girls to feel "in the middle" or left out.
Anyway, DH is amazing so if I do want to try again in Jan. he will. Although our sway will not be as good then because I know he won't cut back as much as he did for this past month.
Whew, sorry so long ladies. really thinking about getting the BFN really puts things in perspective.
I will update tomorrow!
Pearl, hope you have some success this month and the 2ww flies by!!!
ELP-So are going for it this month?

Unfortunately, I'm out. BFN.
I am glad now that I had the low temps the last couple of days so I didn't get my hopes up too much. I was really feeling confident before that.
Weird though, I haven't had a negative test since I was trying with my first.
Anyway, I may be back in January to try. DH and I have to figure that one out.
Pearl, I really hope you get a bfp this month, I know you've been trying for a bit.
ELP, hope you don't have to wait too long either.

Sorry to hear that n710. But if it didn't suit to have a baby next fall then having a small baby may have been challenging too. On the plus if you are trying in jan there are a lot of boy mamas that have got their boys after Christmas.
I am 4 dpo today and trying to be as relaxed as possible this month. I will not be testing until after we come back from my parents next Tuesday week, if I get that far AF is due the bank holiday Monday.

n710, I'm so sorry for your bfn xxx I truly hope your DH is on board to try again in January!! As Pearl said alot of boys are January conceptions, one of mine is:agree: The thing with January aswell is that you have all the big holidays in between, so plenty of great eating!! Plus the distraction of getting everything ready for the holidays will put ttc to the back of your mind!! best of luck whatever you decide:luck::)

Funny you should mention about the dreams ELP, last night I dreamt I was in hospital having just delivered a baby boy and I was trying to get him on to the boob. No symptoms to speak of yet.

Cinss how are you feeling?
Whoops i didnt see this, how rude of me! I am feeling ok being preggers finally i am happy. I am having lots of symptoms which is strange to me because i had none with DD. I have joined the Due in March/April/May thread but i am the only 1 hoping for a boy, so i am feeling a little lost on this site to be honest, some of the girl swayers in there have found out they are having boys, and i feel like my odds keep getting lower the more that happens, i know its silly though.
Thanks dream member.

Hopefully having lots of symptoms is a good sign for you, this pregnancy was NOTHING like when I had the girls. Will you be getting a 12 week scan?

If you read through this thread and last months blue thread people have listed what they are doing and there are some good tips in there aswell!! Another good thing is to read through the blue sways to get the overall impression of what to do, then feel free to ask as many questions as you like:) I'm short of time lately but hope to be about more soon to catch up in full with everyone!!
And thanks for the b'day wishes everyone xxxxxxxx

I know another baby is in the future and I am getting older every day (36) so shall I just get it out the way?? or be sensible for once and wait for Dec/Jan???? I'm such an addict!

Hey Blue swayers.
I am new to GD and trying for a little man after 3 little ladies.
Have been doing boy diet and sups for a week and feel so bloated and full from all the food and salt!!! Ahhh!!
I don't know how people eat salt, it's harsh if your not used to it.
Anyway, we will be TTC in December so hope you don't mind me jumping in to your group to see what and how your all doing.
All the very best of luck to all you TTC in the next month or so.

(copied my post over here instead of intros - thanks for the tip!)
Hi girls,
I'm attempting to sway for a boy. I have 2 girls (2.5 and 11 mo) and we'd really love a boy. I've just joined this weekend but have been researching and reading for months now. Breastfeeding my 11 mo old has been messing with my cycle but now I think I'm finally on track. I have been doing a light sway for a few months but really have cracked down in the past week (AF now, amping up for O). I'm nervous though that I haven't been eating enough in the past couple months. I lost some weight (not a big eater and terrible about working out) but trying now to add it back on with healthy, high potassium/sodium foods. I've spent hours the past few days reading on here about supplements, drinks, etc etc. I nervous to miss something! Big question right now, I'm taking Vitax, which I think helped get my cycle back but have been reading that it sways pink. Should I stop? Scared it will cause my cycle to mess up if I stop, although just night-weaned my LO so hopefully the 12 hour nursing break is all I need to keep it going. (also, should I post this somewhere else other than introductions?)
Thanks and much love!
Cinss

Pearl Goodluck i have fingers crossed for you, i got my bfp that day after af was due, shocked my pants off haha :)
Hi becca, are you going to start your attempts soon? Some bad news is BF sways pink, losing weight, vitex, and having your kids close together all sway pink. You would want to be on the HE diet for at least 6 weeks before your first attempt, you really need to get your nutrient levels up to sway boy, wheatgrass capsules, brewers yeast tablets and v8 juice will all help.

thanks Cinss, I appreciate your help! I've been doing supplements for a couple months and trying to remember to do the diet but not really. We may wait until Dec (that was the original plan - get just so excited thinking about trying again) to make sure I'm eating enough. I also thought about getting a personalized plan. Do I become a dream member for that?

Hi there - I'm taking folic acid, dha, prenatal, vit d, vit b12 (occasional b6), flaxseed. L'arg dried me up and possibly delayed my o last month (could have been the evening prim - stopped both). Picking up brewers yeast and wheatgrass today. DH on zinc, prenatal, fa, vit e, l'arg, b12. Might add c0q10 too.
I've been drinking lemon water for about 2 months, eating nuts, apricots, bananas, canned soup, meat and potatoes and a ton of veggies (we eat meat and veggies everyday mostly anyway). I still have trouble not getting hungry (even with eating so much). I think its from the bfing.
I'm still trying to read everything on here but I just read TTC5's planned sway and I think she had a boy?? I couldn't find the answer for sure. So I'm going to start o-ing everyday a week or so before we planned to ttc.
Congrats to Pearl! That is awesome news!

Funny you should ask Hobber because I just pointed it out to DH about 3 days ago, its that slight that it needs pointing out but! once you know you keep seeing it! plus with him now being 7 months I am thinking of bringing it up with the Dr or Health Visitor next time I see one of them, just incase he may need a patch for a short while:) Bless your little fella:) he can always borrow Daves special outfit lol!!!

Boiled eggs, protien powder drinks, cottage cheese, beef jerky, tofu, hummus, oats, soy milk. Green tea is fine as much as you want im not sure about rasberry tea? You can have cheese, full fat is great.

Green tea is probably the best but keep ypur folic acid high as it has been linked to birth defect through low folic acid. But in general all traditional teas are antioxidants so good for blue. I think there is a thread on teas somewhere isnt there?? I'll see if I can find it.

Hi ELP!!
How is sway #2?? Eating all those nuts and bananas are making sooo full! I am up 3-4 pounds and hopefully I can keep it here with exercise! I am well. Have been super busy with uni + working full-time! AHHHH.
This is practice month #2 and I am hoping to sway next cycle. I have been on the diet about 3-4 weeks so it will be 6 by the time I do my first attempt. My ovulation and cycles are never regular, so that is always a problem, hence the reason why I am doing another test month!

Calcium questions for everyone!
I am still stuck on the calcium thing. I know the older studies show calcium for a pink sway and the newer ones its a blue sway....but how is everyone deciding on what to do?
I have a protein shake which I LOVE, and I have given up during my blue sway as it was 50% calcium and 20% magnesium. My prenatal also has 23% calcium.
My nails were so nice and strong which never happens for me, and now they are all broken and brittle and my skin has been horrible since Ive stopped my protein shake...I am so stuck if I should just not take it for my sway or if I should add it back in.........Ive already been without it for about 3-4 weeks....HELP!
