View Full Version : Sad news - no h/b at u/s today :(

Hi Ladies,

I got some bad news today at my u/s...bub was only measuring 11 weeks and no h/b. I was 12 weeks 3 days. I had some bleeding last week, and I just had this hunch, KWIM? I'm okay, REALLY, the doc said nuchal fold indicated chromosomal abnormality. Guess I shouldn't be that surprised, given my age (40). It still stings though...

I have to go for a D&C on Wednesday. I know it JUST happened, but I'm already planning the next one? Am I NUTS? When can I try again?

You've all been so awesome anyway, even before this news...HUGS.

I'm so sorry. I think there's really no such thing as nuts when it comes to losses. Whatever you need to do is what you need to do.

I waited a few months after both of my miscarriages, but I also let them resolve naturally, so I had to wait for the HCG levels to go back down to 0, which will happen fairly quickly after a D&C. If I were you, I would try again immediately if you feel ready since you are concerned about your age.

I'm so sorry Anchor. I felt the same way about TTC straight away and ended up ovulating on day 20 after the d&c. Hope you're doing okay, I honestly felt fine the first couple of days but then worse as the time went on but found talking with friends and family about it all really helped. (hugs)

Oh and my Dr told me to wait until after I got my first AF to try but I decided to go ahead straight away. I guess it's up to you which way you want to go.

Im so sorry! We lost ours at 19w5d....still waiting for a sticky BFP and that was 4/27.....also some get AF 4-6 WEEKS POST others have to wait longer....take time to grieve and i advise not trying until after first AF then feel free....studies show waiting 3months isnt better but we had a chemical first month then we just had our 2nd mc.....

I'm so sorry to hear this. You sound like you have a great attitude, though, and of course you are not crazy for wanting to try again soon! Good luck to you.

Anchor I'm so sorry to hear this :sadflwr:
You are not nuts, and I say that's the spirit!!!! Keep your chin up, next time will be a sticky one!

If you are secretly hoping for pink, you can try as soon as you get your period back, 1st cycle after m/c sways pink. If you want a boy, then you should wait for few cycles, maybe drink red raspberry leaf tea to help with uterus linig and prepare you for next successful pregnancy!

Best of luck :luck:

Oh no! I'm so sorry. :( I know it probably didn't help to hear that maybe the loss happened because of the chromosomal issues, but maybe knowing why will help give you closure.

Trying again is probably a personal decision, but make sure your blood levels are okay (hcG returns to 0 or close to 0, iron levels are okay, folic acid levels are okay, etc) and give yourself time to grieve. Please take care.
