I posted about this in the Dream Member's section, but I'd like to try to get some opinions here, also.

I got an almost +opk today, and I was not expecting it. My cycles have not really started back up after extended bfing and getting off the minipill, and I only had spotting for three days back on Sept. 3. I had a lot of cramping for the past 3 or 4 days, so I thought AF was on the way. I had a pretty cheat-filled weekend - pizza, guacamole, Chinese food, chocolate...you name it, I ate it! I still stayed mostly within the calorie and protein limits, and I didn't snack between meals, but I did go a bit over on fat and way over on sodium. I also have not been taking Vitex or drinking peppermint tea for the past week or so because I thought I may have already ovulated and I wanted to be sure I wasn't taking those things while pregnant. So now it looks like I may be ovulating soon, and I am wondering if I should even try, or if I should skip this month. My dh is away on a business trip, so we won't be dtd until tomorrow evening. I need to decide before then if I should give it a go or use protection. What would you do?

YES!!

But, I would also throw a bunch of non-diet sway things in there too, Benadryl for you, jump & dump, and get DH to release at least once if not twice before your actual BD (if he's willing).

Your diet isn't going to be derailed in a weekend, especially if you stayed within calorie limits I really doubt you blew it at all. Sometimes I wonder how screwed up our food mentalities are getting on this diet! If we're all to stay sane and maintain for months on end it has to be doable, and having some treats is part of normal life. I think you should go for it!

Now I think it may be a moot point. I did another opk at 8:30 and there's a line, but it's not as dark. Looking at the one from 4:00 again, it is looking more positive to me. So either I already ovulated and we pretty much missed the boat for this cycle (unless some sperm from Sunday were still hanging around) or my body was just working up to a surge and it got derailed (which is very likely - I had no EWCM whatsoever). So back to the uncertainty. Did I O or did I not O? Am I in the 2ww or am I not in the 2ww? This is getting old. So I guess I'm back to no vitex or peppermint tea for 2 weeks. I wish I would just get AF so I could have a starting point for keeping track of things!!

Grrr! That's annoying. Are you temping? Not a perfect method, but I find between temping, cervix checking and OPK's you can usually lock down O dates pretty well. Though, all methods seem better in hindsight, which kinda sucks!

Sounds like it's possible you had a false LH surge, do you check cervix? When I'm not sure usually it's the best sign for me, if it's at all open it means O hasn't happened yet. (Well, or that it's come and gone, lol.)

I just started checking in the past few days. I really didn't notice any difference, except cm went from nonexistent to creamy. I have been trying to start temping, but the past few mornings either my ds3 woke me up an hour before my alarm or my ds2 woke up and was calling for me 5 minutes before my alarm was set to go off. So I didn't get to start until this morning, which is obviously useless at this point. I am still having cramps! It really feels like AF is on the way. I just wish I had some clue what is going on.

I totally get that! It's so maddening, and the more you worry about it the more psychomatic symptoms/signs/other crap you get. It's like a total catch 22, you don't want to stress/pay so much attention that your mind starts making shit up (or getting false hopes when TTC!), but you can't NOT pay attention either.

Sometimes I feel like I'm trying to catch water with my fingers trying to figure this stuff out, LOL!
