Here they are....very obvious to me and the tech. She did a potty shot and there was something between the legs that she was 50/50 on and that it wasn't as prominent as most boys she sees. Then, the nub said it all.

Well I'm confused. In the first pic I see a straight nub below.. what could be the cord? Stick straight..
The other 3 pics I'm having a hard time with.
Do you want me to go circle what I'm seeing?

Really....you can't tell???? I thought that was such an obvious nub...maybe I really am bad at this!!
Yes...circle away. I thought in that one pic there was a very obvious boy nub. I have to say...the potty shot did not look boy. And I am really 13W1D. Baby actually measured 13W4D.

I can't tell from these, either, Beachy. I see what ButterflySpirit is pointing out, but the nub is just not that clear IMO. If this was anyone else, I would look and just not guess, because I just can't tell. I think that's a good thing, though, because it means that any boy guesses that come through aren't definite! Boy or girl, that is one gorgeous baby.
Now we get to obsess for the next two months, LOL. ;)

October 11th, 2012, 01:27 PM
oh no can't believe were still left guess, this is one awkward little beachy bean, it must be a girl (first 'she' freaked us out with spotting and no is being all shy with the goods!!!)
I really can't see anything that could be the nub but think the one you've circled is too high up on the baby to be right (it would mean his willy as almost on his tummy), to be honest i agree with everyone else wouldn't have bothered commenting if it wasn't you as its that unclear. Did the tech say much about gender (the ones over here get really snotty and say they won't even guess until the 20 week scan as its too hard to tell that early on).
Are you going to have a gender scan soon?

She said the potty shot was 50/50 and that it wasn't really protruding like usual 13 week boys. But, then as she was looking around the profile pic she did think it was protruding so she said she felt boy. She knew I had 2 boys so was really pulling for girl.

I really don't know I"m not going to say boy or girl either way !!! BUT I really don't think a bit of protruding means its a boy for sure at all at this point.. I'm not just saying that to make you feel better! I know you really wanted a concrete clue today but I just don't think there is one and we will have to be patient! Either way baby looks cute no matter what it is!
I looked here before and at 13 weeks it looks like girls can still have a bit of protruding

When a girlfriend of mine had her scan (i was with her) the tech said she thought it was a boy because it had a protruding part from the side view, but it turned out to be a girl with swollen bit. I think this may be the same (hopefully)

If the tech on babycenter said she couldn't see a nub, I'd believe her--she's really good, really experienced, and honest. Much better than what people on IG are saying for sure.
FWIW, I don't see a nub, either. If you look at this site, Embryo Development external genital sex organs - angle of the dangle boy or girl ultrasound gender scan - Baby2see (http://baby2see.com/gender/external_genitals.html) or google "nub theory" for other places that have very clear pictures, what you find doesn't look like EITHER what butterfly circled or what you circled. I think your images are not clear enough to tell from, or the angle of the shots is not just right.
So I am still very much holding out hope for pink for you--with those images, it's just too soon to tell.

Just heard back from lovemy4 on IG....she said:
I am thinking it may be a boy. There is a faint line over the straight nub which is commonly seen on baby boys. The 3rd pic in the slide show also shows this line/bump which makes me think blue. I'd give 80% odds so there is a smidge of room there to hope for pink.

I could start saving now! I mean....I really have no room to worry about gender with all the things others are going through. A happy, healthy baby is all that matters and it is so easy to forget that. I love this baby with all my heart and I just want this pregnancy to go OK!
Yes, this pregnancy has been a lot different with nausea and symptoms. The heartbeat was 146, 185, and 156 too which was way different than the boys..I know I shouldn't have even taken note of that!!!!!

NC, I really feel this babe is a girl, it's just a feeling I got, and my intuition has been pretty good in the past (hobbers, mocha, ttc5, etc.)
But I love what you said--that is how I felt going in preg number 3, I really wanted a girl, but because I swayed, I think it made me more aware that I could still def. get a boy as well...and I really worked thru that and came to terms with it, because while I did want a girl, I really did also want more than 2 kids, and that's very important to keep in mind.

http://genderdreaming.com/forum/ultrasound-gender-prediction/10855-12w1d-nub-results-2.html
That one picture with the big bump on the leg looks like mine too (minus the obvious nub that my pics are missing) so that makes me feel a lot better. I was so convinced that was the nub when I first posted my pics.

Yeah my dh wanted it to be a surprise so he didn't go. He knows I know. Cant wait to hear!
I think a potty shot like the one she posted could go either way. There are not girl or boy signs and with her only being 12 weeks that is sooo early. Her profile nub shots were clearly very girly though. My girl at 13 weeks still was pointy down there.

Hahha beachy. How come he doesnt want to know?
It is kind of my fault!!!! For a few reasons, I wanted to go team green this time because 1) I had bad GD with DS2 and DH didn't get it. I had to fake being happy and it was just SO hard. I don't want to go through that again... 2) If it is a boy, I don't want to hear it from everyone about how we will have a ball team, etc and all the boy comments that drive me mad. And now, he is really set on not finding out.
I still do feel like it is prob. a boy, but something in my gut says to not give up yet. IDK....I figure this is a good place to be in anyways b/c I am already getting used to the idea of boy #3 and the kids are so excited about a name i picked out...they want a brother anyways.
So, I am going to go into this with a win/win attitude and who knows what the future will hold!!!!

As you requested I drew on your pic to show you what I was seeing... Im leaning towards boy because I see a line with a stacked up look on top which is very common in boys at this stage. I had a pic of my last son at 13 weeks that looks just like this. It's supposed to be a scrotal bump. I have seen it over it over. Im not seeing much that would indicate girl but the pics are not the best and thats why im only leaning boy. I agree with lovemy4 with the 80% chance at a boy. I do hope you hear girl though!!!! Im rooting for you!!!

Funny you just posted that. I just went and looked at that exact picture(in response #101) and saw how high it is (but angled down). On NC's pics what throws me off is the two lines below. Yours is clearly a nub!

This one reminds me a lot of yours. She was 13 weeks as well.
(potty shot was 18 weeks)

In the top pic what is right above the nub? the cord?
wait I'm confused is it same baby. Bc potty shot is obviously a boy, but you say she.

Oh right sorry, and thank you
Actually it looks like my one of my babies ultra sound, i was having a look at the boys pics see if i could tell from theirs (although obviously i know they are boys - have seen the bits in person) but i couldn't see a nub in there although it appears that girl nubs are quite obvious?????

Well boys can sometimes be tricky if you don't know what your looking for since they can be sticking straight up or have a line which is the scrotal bump and many mistake as a girl nub. Girls are normally longer and sticking straight out so they can be easier to see.

Thank you love my kids!!!! I do see what you are saying and I feel like the nail in the coffin is that you can't see a girl nub. If this is a girl, it seems there would be something seen in at least one of my pictures.
I did see that area you circled when I was looking at my pics, but I thought that was the leg. In the pic below, I had asked lovemy4 about the cord insertion site and she said there was no nub in the pic at all. So, I had discounted that little bump thing. So did the tech on babycenter.
IDK...boy #3 looking more and more..

i think both of your last 2 pics show the same thing and when you posted the one with that was circled in red the actual nub was covered up. good luck mama!!!

I swear I am done obesessing, but l just wanted to come back and update. I asked the tech on babycenter about the pic you circled luvmykids and the last pic I attached with the cord insertion site.
She said she wasn't convinced that was a nub in the circled area and she said that last pic below had no nub in it so she didn't think any nubs were present in my pics.
I have a dr. appt tomorrow and then will have my u/s scheduled so I can finally get the answer!!

that lady on the u/s board on babycenter drives me nuts! i had like 10 very clear pics of my daughter with 3 lines and she kept saying she couldn't say girl because it wasn't boy or girl parts. i was so upset i wrote the people that did the ultrasound and they had me come back in the next day and re-did it and got the same pics again and acted like she was crazy. then i posted those and asked if they were better and she said no. i was shocked. her legs were wide open and you could tell 100% for sure it was a girl.
can't wait to hear your date!!!!!!

LOL Lovemykids, remind me never to post my pics on baby center when I have some. that would drive me nuts!

OK...tech on another site responded that last pic where I circled what I thought was the nub is actually the cord insertion site.
I really think this is a boy. All other guesses on other sites have said boy so I am just going to have to accept it! I really appreciate all of you trying to pull for a girl with me. Better to face the music now than dreaming of pink for the entire 9 months. I love you all for your support!!
I don't think that's cord, I think it's arm, but either way, not nub.

I posted in our due date thread, but I have decided to go team green all the way. I just can't hear boy and feel the heartache all pregnancy so I am going to wait until birth. It will definitely be hard, but I feel it is the right thing to do. You guys better stick around until April!!!

Aw sorry NC hunny, if its any consolation i've been there (and will be again in a few weeks) and although its hard to hear the third one is extra precious - i love my three little monkeys and its so lovely watching them interact and bond with one another. Plus with three you are never short of a cuddle - there is always someone who wants a bit of mommy time. I hope you enjoy your pregnancy now this isn't hanging over you - thats my only regret with ds3 i lost most of pregnancy to gd

I was there with DS3...
My heart was broken...and now my heart is walking around outside of my chest - playing football. LOL!!
I didn't think I'd get over it...but I did and in my wildest dreams, I never thought I'd be able to honestly say to myself "I don't care what I have, as long as it's healthy"...but because of that little boy, it's the God's honest truth.
He keeps me on my toes, but my life would be so boring without him in it. I truly believe it's the reason I let time get away from me....I've had so much fun being his mom that I forgot all about trying for a girl and now, I can honestly say...I just want a healthy baby.
Don't get me wrong, I adore all of my boys...but there is something about #3....we just have this bond that melts my heart.
It might be tough right now, but I promise, it WILL get better. XOXO

I'm really sad and over emotional... but I will be OK. I am glad that you girls are the only one who knows. That makes me feel better b/c I don't have to face the real life ppl. I"ll be OK in a few weeks....my insane mind is thinking about how to sway for #4....if I can survive this pregnancy...

Aww my girl...
I promise you'll be okay. I was...I never thought I would be, but I am actually MORE than okay.
Part of me LOVES being the only princess in my house. The boys all spoil me. Just wait till your guys get a little older!!
I used to buy everything for our house in blue....or at least it had to be masculine. But you know what? I LIVE HERE, TOO...so I buy princess stuff for ME now. lol.
I actually have a Little Mermaid cup that I drink out of. :) LOL...I know it's silly, but you know what? It makes me happy!!

Everyone says it and its completely true, when #3 is your GD baby they own your heart like no one!
My DD3 is the cutest, sweetest, most adorable thing I could ever ask for. She is the complete "mini-me" and I can't get enough of her.
Although I desperately want a boy, if I don't get a boy, but another version of DD3, I'll be fine.
Sorry you didn't hear girl, but BELIEVE me you will adore that baby like no other!!
My tip on dealing with the lame comments that are bound to follow, don't tell anyone you know the gender. The comments that accompany 3 of a kind are just awful! Tell everyone you will find out at birth and only tell the people you trust and want to know its a boy! HTH!:kissy:

I totally agree! If I get pg and its my 4th boy... I am not telling ANYONE EXCEPT YOU LADIES. The things people say and especially to a pregnant person! I know 4 is my limit unless we win the lottery or something lol.... But I am truly hoping and praying for at least ONE pink bean.... The sadness will pass but don't try to force yourself to "get-over-it" let time heal and once you have a name picked and start to feel more connected, it does get a little easier... At least it did for me. I love my boys and my youngest boy is the most attached to me than them all. He's my baby.... Hope you feel better soon... We all have been there/here that's what great about this site... You're not alone.
