View Full Version : Baby weight predictions ...

So I know we're all obsessing over gender as scans are looming and I thought maybe it would be good to have a distraction!

I would like to know what weight were your previous babies and what weight do you predict this baby will be?

My ds1 was 7lbs 2oz and my ds2 was 7lbs, I think if this one is a girl she will be 7lbs and if it is a boy he will be 8lbs.

Also due dates - when do you think your little one will arrive?
I was 4 days late with ds1 and 10 days early with ds2, I think this one will arrive on the 18th April.

Fun to see who gets it right! :)

DD was 6p 9o. I think this bub will be bigger maybe 7p 9o.

DD was 38 weeks. I think this one will be 39 weeks. I predict bub coming on may 8.

Due date for my son was January 25th and I went into early labor on January 20th (and he was born January 22nd.)

The midwives thought he would be 8lbs but I knew they were totally wrong... he was 6lbs, 12oz.

I know second babies can be larger than first ones because there is more room, but I expect roughly the same this time, maybe slightly bigger. Who knows. I'm still vegetarian and I think that would possibly limit how heavy the baby will end up being.

As to when I could go into labor, who knows. I do a lot of walking and not driving (don't have a car here), so perhaps around the same time frame as my son.

Although I expect and sure as hell hope my labor is SHORTER the second time... and I hope baby is not posterior this time! That will really help improve my birthing experience... fingers crossed!

Ohh this is fun! Thanks mummypink!

DS1 was born 37 weeks - 8lbs3oz - I had to be induced for high blood pressure
DS2 - was born 37 weeks all on his own - I had gestational diabetes and had to go for regular scans. The day before he was born, they told me he was going to weigh over 8 pounds - he ended up being 7lbs7oz

This baby - I think might make it to 38 weeks (I am not letting DH near me after 35 weeks) and I think the baby will weigh around 8 lbs. So maybe picking April 10th!!

Great idea :)

Ds1 5days late weighed 7lbs 5oz, 9hrs 20min Labour
Ds2 6days late weighed 7lbs 5oz 1hr 45mins Labour
Expecting DD 2nd march but I have it in my head she will come on the 8th March, thinking she will be 6lbs 12oz....or the opposite and weigh 8lbs :) Labour will be 2hrs? Fx lol!

My mum had 3 boys that all weighed 7lbs 5oz, I was born weighing 8.4! X

Mine are:
Ds1 8lbs 3oz 10days late 17 hours of labor
Ds2 8lbs 4oz 4days late 15 hours of labor
Ds3 8lbs 7oz 3days late 3 hours of labor

So I am destined to have another big baby and be late again lol

Will be fun to see how close we all are with our guesses! :)

I was told ds2 was going to be big and he was smaller than his brother had been who they told me was going to be on the small side!
A friend of mine had a girl weighing 9lbs 10oz!!!!!!!!! Makes your eyes water just thinking about it!

Both of mine were quick labours, just using hypnobirthing techniques for pain relief. I'm really hoping to be lucky enough to get away with the same again but also hoping this one doesn't arrive too fast as we have just over an hours drive to the hospital!

DS1 was born 13 days early , 6lbs
DS2 was born 10 days early, 6lbs
My guess for the next one is a week early, April 4 , at about the same weight. Time will tell!

Ds1-induced at 38 weeks due to cholestasis. 7lbs. 8oz.
Ds2-induced at 38 weeks due to cholestasis. 7lbs. 9oz.
Dd-induced at 37 weeks due to cholestasis. 7lbs. 15oz.
Ds3-induced because I was 9 days overdue. NO CHOLESTASIS. WOOHOO!! 9lbs.

My due date for this baby is April 29, 2013. I think he or she will be born sometime in the beginning of May and was around 9 lbs again. I really hope my body will go in to labor on it's on this time and will not need to be induced again.

3M&AL - what is Cholestatsis? That is crazy you went past your due date last time after all those early babies!

I am going to do this but not until I know if it's a boy or a girl. That would change my guess.

Some of you ladies have big babies! Mine are always skinny but super long and then they grow really fast and get really big. Right now Ds1 who is 4 is mistaken for a 6 yr old all the time and DS2 who is almost 2 is always thought to be 3 or 4. He is over the 100% marker for height and like 85% for weight. haha

My baby is sooo long, such beautiful long legs too I hope she is a runner like her momma! :D

I think she will be around 7 or 8lbs. I was 9 and a half but I don't know, I just don't think I'll have one that big. I guess that's not really backed up by any science hehe

Rosie, Thats the same as my babies.. Both were 51 cm long and both skinny but grow very very fast!! My 4 year old looks 5 and my baby boy is already 8.6 pounds at 2 weeks and 2 days old!

Ds1 born on his due date, he still follows all the rules today! 8Lb 4oz
Ds2 born at 30 weeks, 4lbs even
Ds3 born at 33 weeks, 4lbs 10 oz
This baby I've had cervical cerclage and think I will get to 38-39 weeks, just a feeling. Due April 25, guessing will come about April 19 and guessing 8lbs 1oz

Awww Winngrin that must have been so scary having Ds2 and Ds3 so early. Thank goodness they were ok, so good they have put the cervical cerclage in this time. xx
