OK...this is a fun one! The saying is if baby is curled up (looks like a lima bean) in a 8-10 week u/s pic it is a boy and if baby is laying straight, it is a girl. I have never heard this before so thought it would be fun to test it out. Post your u/s pics or say if it works for you.

Here is an example - baby on left is curled and baby on right is straight.

Oh my, NC! Mine was laying straight, arms and legs spread out, I remember thinking what a great picture. So, I went right away to check my boys' u/s pics: DS2 was actually more curled up, DS1 pics are beginning to fade so it's hard to tell. Now you've got my hopes up! We only have to wait till Monday to find out if it's right:fx:

Oooh, interesting! My son was definitely curled up -

I think this was 8 weeks, 6 days.

The lady that I read this from has 6 kids and it worked for all of her kids!

Ds2=curled (I think) Oops! This pic was at 7 weeks...supposed to only be 8-10 weeks! Don't know about Ds2 then!

?? = straight (I think)

The boy I am carrying now was curled up, but I can't compare it to my girls because I didn't have a u/s before 12 weeks with them. Hope its right for you

Here is ThreeMen&ALady's 10 week pic from her DD...hard to tell if straight or curled...I'm going with straight since body is straight.

So I had an ultrasound and it was dated 7 and 3 but I was suppose to be 8 and 1. I wonder if mine would be accurate. I think baby was straight, have to look again.

DS2's u/s was during the 7th week

DS3 10w2d if it still counts... I dunno he was laying straight then he rolled over away from us lol. It's so strange to see the difference a couple of weeks makes! I hadn't really compared between the kids, I just compared each one's pics to themselves!

Weird I vaguely remember DDs u/s at 10 weeks and she wasnt curled up. Never had one for the boys that early so who knows

Interesting and fun theory, but my logic tells me that all little babies would be curled up and stretched out at some point while growing and it is just a matter of timing to get the pic to see what bubba was doing that particular minute.

Very interesting!
Here is my girl at 8 weeks. Maybe there is something to this theory.

Hmmm. Not true for me. I never had early u/s with my boys but with this DD, she was curled up. I'll post a pic when I get back home!

Hmmm, interesting. My first son was curled at a little over 8 weeks, my second son was also curled at 9 weeks. And this one is laying spread-eagle at 10 weeks. Lol. I would love for it to be true, but I gotta err on the side of logic and say it is just if you catch them awake or not. I would imagine they curl up to sleep and are more "open" when they are awake. Just a guess though.

Interesting....

Here is DS2 at 8 weeks:

And here is this little bean at 8 weeks

We've been joking that this one is so long and stretched. My 2 boys just looked like blobs at 8 weeks.

How very interesting! With my 1st DD she was not cured up at all, i saw her little bobble head and tiny arms and legs at like 7 weeks, and this on was curled up like a little jelly bean at 7 weeks 3 days. Hope this is TRUE!

I dont find out what im having until 13th November, BUT since the day i fell pregant i am saying its a boy - i want to live the boy dream for a while seeing as its my last.... If its a girl, at least i lived my dream for 15 weeks :)

Dont know if anyone is still using this theory (doesnt look like this thread has been commented on in awhile!) but it wasnt true for my DS2. He was straight in my 8 week ultrasound and I am hoping it isnt true for this baby either because baby was definitely more curled today (9 weeks)!

My DS3 was straight at 8 weeks...I agree with a pp that said it must just be what they're doing at the moment. :)
