I took an opk this morning. I'm 11 dpo and the test line us almost as dark as the control line. Can it detect pregnancy???

Yes it can and you are getting far enough along past ovulation that it could be working that way for you!!!

hmm...I would have guessed bfp based on the +opk! With ds3, I wasn't trying to conceive, but my period was late. I had a few opks left over from the last time I ttc'd, and one random hpt. I didn't want to waste the hpt, so I did an opk first and it was very positive. So then I did the hpt and it was positive. Good luck! I hope maybe the opk is picking up on something the FRER isn't catching yet!

Yes it can!

I read up on this a while ago and the way i understood it was like this.

HCG and LH are almost identical in their chemical makeup - so think of them as identical twins - except one that HCG is wearing a hat, and LH isn't.
HPT's look for the identical twin WITH the hat, so will only show a positive if there is HCG present (the twin with the hat)
OPK's look for either twin, so will show a positive for both LH and HCG..

Hope that makes some sort of sense
