Hi everyone.
I'm new to GD but have been resourcing boy sway for the last couple of weeks. Am very nervous and want to make sure I do everything possible to try and get a boy. We have 3 beautiful girls :ballerina::ballerina::ballerina:but we desperately want a boy and this is our last baby.
I started my boy diet today and will get supplements tomorrow. Going to start trying Dec (gives me 7 weeks). Will do OPK to time though I did that with DD 2 and with DD 3 - we DTD 12 hours before I felt the egg release so not sure that is going to make much difference. Might have to try for just after?
My diet is naturally highly acidic so can make a big difference there!! Next 4 cycles have me O-ing 4 or 5 days before a new moon:mad:
Anyway, I'm waffling on...

Hi and welcome. Dont worry too much about timing. Diet, exercise and suppliments are the most important. Goodluck.

Hi luvalittleman, thanks for your tips (from my intro thread). They seem very spot on from what I've read when TTC a girl. It's very re-assuring when you see the swaying techniques / ideas match up in reality (i.e., your three girls). I wish I had some advice for you on your boy sway, but I'm sure you'll get plenty of that here :) Best wishes to you :fx: and Congrats on three girls, that's fantastic!!!

Hi Cinss. Thank you for responding. With regards to the exercise, do you mean Pump classes rather than treadmill? Do you really think that makes a difference? I am quite lean and build muscle super easy for a girl so tend to do cardio.

Hi confusedman. I adore having daughters - so hope you get at least one.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask and I will try and help if I can.
Best of luck.

Hi there, I have two boys and the timing was different for both:) But we had a LOT of attempts which raises the number of sperm flying around which helps sway blue! Good luck

I concieved my first son in the new moon, second in the full moon, but what I was doing during both was moderately excerising, (incll. lifting 5 lb weights 3-4 times a week), eating frequently, cutting down on sweets, increasing my protein, losing a moderate amount of weight (like 10 lbs), fish oil supps, green tea etc...I was on a health kick with both accidential conceptions.
Good luck to you :)

Welcome! I was also on a health kick with DS1. Fish oil, Vitamins, lots of healthy foods, lots of salt. Working out 3-4x/wk. Conceived on exactly half moon 12-24hrs after o. I hope you get your boy!

Rosie85, you have no idea! My girls are really good friends and dote on other babies (all quite maternal). My oldest was only 2 and 4 when her sisters came along and she's been amazing. This time there will be 3 1/2 - 4 years since I had my third. Thinking having given my body time to recover, build it's iron and minerals etc.. back up and concentrate on eating and drinking massive variety of healthy food, drinks, vitamins and minerals might get me my dream. Have thought it was a boy every pregnancy (ha ha my intuition is so bad) but wouldn't swap my little ladies for anything, they are all so beautiful in their own ways. Just NEED a little man for balance (yep, I'm a Libran).

Thanks for the tips smbarnett11. I am doing all that you recommend and given two of the girls were conceived right before O, I am going to try the other side like you. Sorry if this is TMI but would you recommend just one DTD or lots and lots? Can't figure which way to go there. Will have DH abstain for 3 days to build up his reserves!!!

Actually lifting weights is best so you build a little muscle and raise your testosterone levels. Cardio is ok but you dont want to be losing weight when you concieve, i think the recommendation is to keep cardio under 45mins at a time.

I agree with Cinss lifting weights is best :)
I would recommend trying to get in at least 3 attempts. I had DH releasing every two days and then when I got a positive OPK we went at it :)

Hi Tiggerian, and thanks.
I hope so too.
I am taking every supplement you can imagine and changed my diet radically (geez boy diets are expensive!!!). Am pumping weights 3 times a week (well tomorrow will be 3) and have cut out coffee....while I'm pre-menstrual...so my family are all hiding (hee hee).:SS:
Plan to do everything different from the last three which should give me a different outcome but we will have to wait and see....

Hi Hobbermittens! Am V excited you popped in. Have read about your boy sway, comments, etc...
Am hoping to get the same outcome as you obviously so any advice would be warmly welcomed. Have had a bad winter (am down under so we are just coming out) and have had multiple virus' and 2 courses of antibiotics so am trying (not so patiently) to get my immunity up and strong.
Anyone have an opinion on Royal Jelly tablets as opposed to the one in honey? Am also taking Maca along with all the other boy sups.
First try will be Dec!

I took the royal jelly supp that wasn't mixed with honey. I didn't ever take the one mixed with honey.
Antibiotics are supposed to sway boy. I was on them when I conceived my baby!

Oh Hobbermittens, that just confuses me more! I thought for a boy, we were meant to be really healthy, full of nutrients and in high condition??? Glad to hear the tablets worked for you as I can't get the one in honey here in OZ. May I ask how much Folic Acid you were taking?
Am taking 2000 mcg per day which I heard sways boy (but also that more can sway twins).
I never took FA before with the others, just as soon as I found out so that may be a good sway for me.

I wasn't exactly sick. I get strep throat at the drop of a hat, and my kids had it so I took the antibiotics at the first sign of anything. I probably would have been fine without them, but I was trying to be preemtive. I was terrified of getting sick while trying to sway!
I took a LOT of FA, way more than I needed to, by accident. I think I was taking 4,000 mcg? It took a long time to wean off. All you need is the amount Atomic advises.

Thanks Hobbermittens.
The other thing I am a little confused about is the diet. There seems to be 2 conflicting bits of advice...
1. Eat loads of fruit and vegetables, red meat, potatoes, tomatoes, bananas, be super healthy and load up on good stuff.
2. Then they say eat fast foods, hamburger and fries, milkshakes, loads of calories...
I struggle to eat a lot but am tending to do option 1 and doing it every hour or two as I can't sit and eat massive meals.
Think I might add in another 500mcg of FA.
Am getting nervous about doing this and getting it wrong...

Hobbermittens,
PLease ignore above message and thanks for advising me to read Atomic's info.
Because I get interrupted every 10 minutes, I hadn't found the wealth of information that Atomic has provided at the beginning until just now (many thanks Atomic. You are awesome XX).
I have previously just been gathering bits here and there so it is great to find all the info to plan properly.
Am still freaking out about the diet!!! I NEVER eat these types of foods (which shows why I have three girls haha). All I can say is I will do everything 100% (except the seasonal sway as we are in spring now), fatten myself up like a lamb to the slaughter (which may or may not be a euphemism for my state of sanity if this doesn't work). p.s. husband only started supps yesterday and swears he has been toey all day....

I think the FA helped me get my boy after 3 girls. That was pretty much the only thing that was different in my diet.
Hope you get your bundle of blue.

Thankyou Pegasusonfire. I appreciate you taking the time to write.
I so hope this works...I read somewhere the chances of 4 girls is 5% and get my hopes up but then I read the chances of 3 girls was 12% and was sure my last DD was a boy for sure!! She is a pure delight and am glad she joined our family. Seriously though, 5 girls to 1 boy (inc DH and myself) is just not fair to me!!!
