View Full Version : B B B G - is it possible??????

Ok so feeling really like i'm hoping for the impossible here. Out of all the moms i know in real life (with school thats a lot) i only know of one mom with 3 boys and a girl. I know a lot of moms with 2 boys and a girl (that seems really really common) and i know quite a good few with four boys. Am i trying to achieve mission impossible? Are the few moms with bbbg just really lucky freaks of nature. It seems the more kids you have of one gender the more likely you are to get the same gender, unless you keeping going then odds are somewhere down the line you get lucky - although i have been told lately of couple of families with 9 of the same and no opposites.

There are so many of us on here with 3 boys at the moment (and no girls) odds are hopefully one of us should achieve it but are most of us just wasting our time even in spite of the lovely atomic and her undisputed cleverness?

Does any one know any families with boy, boy, boy, girl (without cheating and pgd). Am feeling like i'm after the holy grail and can only be set for a fall.

NOTE from atomic - this poster did indeed get a baby girl!!

Not personally, but I have seen such families around town. I saw one family that was bbbbg. No clue though as to whether they are using high tech methods.

Oh she is makes my heart melt everyday - her name is sophia and she is such a sweetie blonde hair and blue eyes, her mom always dresses her like she's stepped out of a catalogue really girly but not pink. She always gets out of her pushchair to wait for her brothers and runs to give them a hug when she sees them coming. They always stop to play behind on the playground after and you can see her trotting after them and they are so gentle and loving with her its adorable.

Makes me hope its something my boys will get to experience one day. My son has been asking if he can have a sister lately and i keep saying i don't know you don't get to choose but it would be lovely. He asked me the other night if i have a baby in my tummy (haven't told him yet and don't intend to) i said i'm not sure and he said hang on a minute mommy i'll check gave me a bit of poke then said i don't think so not yet its just your dinner - really made me smile i love the little things kids say (this coming from the same child who told his brother try my hot dog you'll really like it its only sausage and dog!!!)

Ohh mrs p your boys sound lovely! I really hope their baby sister is in there and not just dinner. You truly deserve your girl! I want it so badly for you.

I picture my boys being the same way with a sister...sweet and gentle, protective! They adore baby girls already and go around to everyone they meet and just stare and say how pretty she is. Ds1 them will tell me how he wants one.

Thank you Rosie - am looking forward to your scan tomorrow hope you hear pink, been thinking about you, you sound really nervous from your posts (which i don't blame you at all i'll be exactly the same). I think in some ways it makes it harder swaying as you kinda feel your in with a chance. So many girls have heard opposites in your thread lately, i hope you turn it around for them. Will keep my fingers crossed and my eyes on the board for you tomorrow, i truly hope you hear girl and get to experience that rush of excitement and overwhelming emotion of knowing your dreams have come true x

I know 2. One which led me to this whole swaying thing! Although she did timing and cranberry and some other stuff which I ended up tossing out the window when I came here... Now I wonder if I listened?!? However I probably still would have got a boy and then wished I'd done this lol!! I keep thinking how I shouldn't have tried at all, just winged it as I know 3 people who did that and got their girl after 2 boys wtf?!! I apparently am still frustrated by all this;)

Mrs P...how I love you and your stories of your little boys. It makes me excited for my 3rd DS and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for that. I really, really hope you get your little DD. Honestly, just put all your faith in god and that is all you can do. Miracles happen every day and you so deserve it. I am right there with you worrying about if it ever will happen if I have a 4th.

Coocoo - I feel EXACTLY the same way. I am thinking maybe I put too much stress and pressure on myself. My only regret is that I should have just relaxed and had more faith in above. Instead, I stressed and pushed so hard to try to make something work. At the time I felt like I had little stress, but when I look back, I created even more for myself. If I go for a 4th, I will be totally different and let it happen when it is supposed to happen and stop obsessing about all the details. I will definitely do LE diet but that will be the only thing I force to happen.

Thank you beachy i promise you as hard it is to hear boy, three boys are truly special. It will be noisy, chaotic and everything else imaginable in your house BUT worth every moment - i am so grateful every day for my boys and they are so loving and caring towards one another, that brother bond is amazing and i get to watch it grow everyday. They treat me like a princess and i would miss out on a minute of it. You will get your daughter one day she's just taking a little longer to arrive that little guy is someone special and must have been mean't for your family (ps nice to see he has a name, both are lovely but i quite like Eli if you voting).

As for me i've had my miracle (my ds2 survived his incident when he shouldn't have done) and i will be forever grateful for that, i thought i was grateful for my kids before but now know i'm blessed. I know its greedy (i have 3 such special boys) but its so hard not to want. I know i'll be fine with whatever i get, its the waiting and not knowing that i can't cope with and i can't believe its started so early this time - GRRRRRR i hate GD

OMG i've gone so emotional this pregnancy sorry i keep going all soppy on you all (not that i'm ever that hard nosed tbh but i'm not usually this bad)

Hi coocoo i've been thinking about you lately and hoped your doing ok - i know its hard to hear boy (don't think honestly that i have ever heard boy and theres not been the tiniest bit of me disappointed, even with ds1 just for a second but it was still there) but it is so much easier to deal with your feelings before birth when it can be all about you. I totally understand you feeling cheated in some ways swaying makes it all the more harder as you have higher to fall from. Please don't feel guilty for those feelings, your more than welcome to have a good moan on here it really does help (i had no-one when i heard boy with ds3 and i was devastated it makes it easier having people there for support) and if ever you want to chat you can pm me x

When and if you and beachy are ready to try for number 4 hopefully we'll have all been guinea pigs and cracked a formula that works so your guaranteed your girls x

CooCoo I did cranberry and timing and followed a different diet. If I hear girl then you know what to try next! I swayed before I came here, when I joined I was already pregnant. While some stuff i did follows, some does not. I followed timing because I know others who it seemed to work for and both of my boys were conceived on O day. So I thought what the heck why don;t I try to opposite of what I did before?

Mrs_P
October 26th, 2012, 05:01 PM
Rosie your sway sounds pretty fab to me and you did le diet, just without knowing it LOL isn't that the way most women sway without knowing!

I fancied cranberry and had in mind (ingrained from IG) but dropped it as there were so many things it couldn't be taken with . From your sway i wouldn't have guessed it wasn't a GD sway until you just said though

Rosie85
October 26th, 2012, 05:06 PM
Well that is good news Mrs P! I was happy to find some similarities when I got here with what I did. I was still trying to rely on ph and timing too much though so if it didn't work I think I know what to blame. Also I took a vitamin the whole time which could have destroyed everything but I am SUPER paranoid not to take them as my DS1 has issues and I still want to be giving my body some nutrients. Some would argue vitamins don't do much though regardless so who knows.

Mrs_P
October 26th, 2012, 05:16 PM
I think what ever effect ph and timing had on your sway it wouldn't have been a negative one anyway - as AS said timing doesn't matter it doesn't sway and ph - well it won't sway boy and as long as you got pregnant which you did it can only work in your favour.

Whens you scan hunny - and whereabouts in the world are you (just so i know what time it will be for me - as i tried that with coocoo and ended up in bed before she had her afternoon scan - would have been nearly 2am here and i gave in and went to bed at 12:30 was so tired)

Rosie85
October 26th, 2012, 05:22 PM
I live in Minnesota which is the middle of the U.S. My time zone is central standard. Scan is at 10:45am but I have to drive over an hour to get there and we have plans around the area after. I am behind the times and do not have internet on my phone so I may not get home until around 3 or 4pm my time making it pretty late for anyone not in the US :-( Although for England it would just be later in the night maybe around what 10pm?? I forget the time difference.

Mrs_P
October 26th, 2012, 05:30 PM
yep i googled it, when its 4 for you, its 10 for me here so i will be here tomorrow night ready and waiting to hear pink.

Funny that with the whole time zone thing - i really struggled to wrap my head around that when i was little thought it was like some sort of time travelling and i'd get to see all the new tv programs first or hear news first LOL

Rosie85
October 26th, 2012, 05:33 PM
Alright I will try my hardest to make it by 4!!! Wouldn't that be cool if you could travel in time like that? Some places do show programs before other places. In Hawaii I know they don't see what we see until later at night otherwise their prime time television would be at 3 pm.

I can name at least three families who had BBBG. It really is a 50% chance with each pregnancy. I'm trying to brace myself for a fourth boy, but scientifically speaking, it's 50/50. I think the fact that we are all so obsessed with gender (myself included!) that it doesn't feel possible to conceive a girl naturally after having three boys, but it is possible. In fact, that is how I finally got over the "I'm not good enough to have a girl" part of GD. I just flipped a coin three times and got all heads - that's all. It says nothing about who I am as a person or how deserving I am. It's just the luck of the draw.

There are several ladies from this site who now have BBBG. I agree that luck plays a part but I also believe that by following Atomic's advice you're giving yourself the best chance. We all have a chance, including you :D

So I asked my sister if she did anything to sway for her girl when she had her after her three boys....she said she never knew there was such a thing! :) There's some hope in my genes after all I guess.

I'd say yeah... I have an Aunt-in-law that had G-B-B-B-B-B-G!!!!!

And she just told me on Thanksgiving. She was jealous I was luckier than that ,and said "you should have gone through what I had to.." makes you wonder why someone would want someone else to suffer like that. I responded to her "Well, we are only having 3, so I'm happy and blessed that it happened this way!" :(

Dear Mrs. P,

There are several recent success stories of women with all boys from this Forum trying naturally (after failed HT) who got their daughter. Nancy (a dear friend and former GD member who is no longer active) has three sons and is finally expecting a daughter in 2013... like me, she didn't sway. I didn't sway. mydream did sway.

Wishing you the very best. Glad to see from another thread that you are exploring CVS. xoxo

I have B B B G and im pregnant with my 5th atm which is also a girl. so il have BBBGG. its definatly possible. im the only person i know with that combination though. most people i have met with 3 boys and 1 girl had the girl 2nd. so BGBB. i know of a couple of women who have had 4 of the same gender and there 5th was the opposite. and i also know a a few women with 5 of the same gender.

but its definatly possible to have BBBG im just the only person i know to have them in that order. GL

and also adding i have never swayed so if we did something different the last two times i wasnt aware of it.

YES YES YES it is entirely possible - for those who have read any of my posts in the past i was so sure it wouldn't happen for me but i got blessed with a gorgeous baby girl who has changed our world and brought us more joy than i ever felt possible. I am sure she is only here as a result of our sway. Coocoo you have just as good of a chance as anyone else, since i had Belle i've met a few moms with three boys and a girl - none of them swayed. To some extent it is just odds - as Atomic always said sooner or later you have to flip an opposite even if you do nothing different!

I remember another older post on here - will see if i can find it in a minute but thats what started this discussion out of nearly 30 sways for 3 boy mom half of them got a girl and not just the ones with the best sways

Edited to add link

I love reading through this thread! So many BBBG success stories!
What do you think my chances are for B B B B G? ( we also had 2 losses between DS2 and DS3, one most likely a BOY based on nub and one a confirmed Girl, 12 and 13 weeks).
We have always had 1 attempt in fertile window except for DS1, our Girl loss was an Oops with a 6 day cut off. We practice NFP and dont use birth control.
I swayed hard for this baby I am carrying now, but he was clearly meant to be! I just dont think I am ready to close the door on my dream of having a daughter, but I am scared I wont be able to handle 5 boys!
