my 1st attempt is coming up and I just can't decide what I will do.
I know my boys were conceived w/ lots of ewcm because I've always had a lot. I know many moms don't put much stock in timing and I will be doing rephresh and zyrtec to dry myself up if diet alone hasn't. I still worry about timing.........So girl moms did you do a cut-off as soon as postive opk or did you keep going past O??
We started fr at cd1 and 1st attempt will be at cd7 that's all I'm sure of right now lol

I don't have any girls. Only three boys. But we are also ttc girl and have been trying to do a cut off and have previously while ttc our last son attempted cut offs and we don't get pregnant. So we are planning on BD thro O and further. But this time I am armed with rephresh and sudafed. I'm currently on CD 13 and usually ovulate between CD 20 and CD22. So you must have short cycles then given that you are attempting so early? CD7. Good luck this month for you.

Well i did a 16 day FR, we skipped maybe 2 days.....17 days because i have long cycles. He didnt always release inside me though. We DTD, i got a pos OPK at 1pm, we DTD one last time that night and i got my girl. but i was doing strict diet, rephresh, acijel and lime, and some supps. I didnt have much ewcm but took a few sudafed then switched to zyrtec.

would love to hear from more moms. could it be that timing(not getting closer to O) is more about not having the ewcm than the actual time. So moms that went closer to O and beyond did you have lil ewcm(naturally or did something to dry up?)

the 3 things I see different between when I had my dd(12 years ago) and my boys is
ewcm-not then lots since I had my boys
bigO- never then and always now
sleep- worked graveyard, now reg. sleep schedule
but still can't get timing out of my head like most swayers lol
but am thinking it's more to do w/ the ewcm many have around that time-
keep them coming mamas:)
if you have lots of ewcm and have girls post that too:)

I am curious about the timing part too because with ds1 we dtd EVERY day right from when af finished right up until af was due and with ds2 I had hubby do VERY FR and then dtd only the once about 8 to 10 hrs after ovulation... I am woundering if i should try a cut off next time as I have had 2 boys concieved by dtd so close to o.. hmmm??

I got DD with one attempt the night before O day (which would have been my pos OPK even tho I didn't use them.)
I had gotten pg with 2-4 day cutoffs before and gotten boys with it.
(I know you were asking about a cutoff at pos OPK but just for anyone who was confused about the terminology.)

That is exactly what I believe - it's the CM and overall rates of sperm survival that matter and not any magic of a given day. People get about 50-50 boys and girls DTD on every day of the cycle. BUT there are still opposites even with the "right" CM.

Hi! I went through o, I had 4 attempts on o-1, o, o+1. Each attempt wasn't very good so I'm surprised I caught a swimmer! We did an abstain, with DS we were prob DTD every other day. I don't really think timing has much to do with anything! I didn't have much ewcm, maybe a little, not not much at all and I'm used to it being alot! Lol

cvd I think we talked about this at the time but just for the benefit of others who aren't in the know, I don't usually advise abstain + more than one attempt. If you DO want to do abstain + several attempts, make sure that they are as close together as you possibly can get them, less than 6 hrs. is best, or else have your husband release once, dump it, then DTD again as soon as he can (AFTER that first release, that is.)

I have 3 girls and with all three I dtd starting about 5 days before ovulation (sometimes several times a day) and kept going until a few days after ovulation ( with the first 3, I was quite determined to get preggo the first try....and I did all three times). I never used any lube *except with that amount of bding, there were sometimes tmi...."leftovers". By the time we got to the end of each try (what my dh called the "sextival"....hehe) we were whooped....and preggo with a girl all 3 times. Good luck!

Yes sorry I should have clarified that! We did our abstain, had 1 attempt but DH accidentally pulled out (he was nervous LOL) so 2 hours later we did it again but literally nothing came out!! Worried we had no swimmers the next day, DH released in the shower then we DTD 2.5-3 hours later (where also barely anything came out lol) our 4th attempt was after o was confirmed by temps and very very late so I doubt that contributed at all but put it in anyway. I am actually surprised we caught a swimmer with all our poopy attempts lol
