Did you purchase and follow a GD Personalized Plan?
No
DIET
Did you follow a diet plan?
Yes
If yes to diet, which one did you most follow? IG

Comments regarding DW's diet changes-
I followed the IG diet for 10 months. The last 2 - 3 months prior to conception I added a few more vege's into my diet. I ate very little meat/fish in the last 2 - 3 months, and did not drink much milk either.
My diet turned into a IG/LE combo. In general I tried to eat very little.
Unfortunately in the 2WW my diet tended to fall apart - but never ate big 'no no's'.
If diet was used, length of time before attempt?
10 months prior to attempt
Did you skip breakfast regularly?
Yes
Did DH change his diet with you?
No
Comments regarding DH's diet-
DH followed the IG diet very strictly (!) In fact better than me - for 6 months.
After yet another BFN I told him to stop - it was too stressful and hard on him. He was so happy to stop, and frankly, that made me happy!
DId you consume alcohol? No

DId you try to limit caffeine?
No, I drink caffeine regularly
Any Diet Details?
I developed a coffee addiction while on the diet.. I never used to drink coffee prior?!
Any Diet Comments/Additional Info?
To be honest, I stopped the diet after ovulation. In fact I actually had a special dinner on O day that I could not be excused from. Unfortunate timing.
WEIGHT AND EXERCISE
What did you weigh/BMI do leading up to O?
BMI = 18.3
Any Weight/Exercise related additional info/comments?
I stopped exercising, apart for the occasional walk. I did go for a walk in the rain on O day.
THINGS in VG and CONCEPTION DATE(CD) INFO
pH Before Starting a Sway Program, if known
6.5
Any VG potions used? Sylk

CM pH at attempt
CM was in the 4.3 - 5 range. I tried not to focus on Ph this cycle.
DH pH
7.5 (when tested a while ago)
How many BD attempts did you make for the BFP cycle?
8
BD Dates according to Ovulation 5 Days Before O
4 Days Before O
3 Days Before O
2 Days Before O
1 Day Before O

Any additional comments?
-
THE DEED INFO
DH Info about Swimmers Frequent Release

BD Position
Multiple
Did you Jump and Dump? No

Any relevant attempt details?
After several unsuccessful 0+12 attempts I wanted to increase my chances at pregnancy by making more attempts. This was my first Clomid cycle, so I did not want to mess around with timing/frequency.
SUPPLEMENTS USED
DW Supplements Clomid
Baby asprin
folic acid
Calcium
Magnesium
Fiber
Antihistamine

DH Supplements Magnesium

Any additional supplement info?
DH took Calcium also. He was taking Licorice Root for several months, but stopped the month prior to conceiving.
I also took Zinc, Iron and B6 (50 mg daily).
Did you do anything with Ions?
Yes.. I like to cover all bases!
Negative ioniser in car and living area. Salt lamp next to bed and kitchen. Lavender spray, body products, hand wash etc. Burnt lavender essential oil. Rose quartz in pocket (sometimes), painted nails on O day...
Moon Phase during conception?
Waning Crescent
Did you use any Old Wives Tales?
Yes.. I put them under the bed so long ago I can hardly remember what they are!
Girl outfit, rose quartz.. DH found it one day and had some major concerns for me.. Lol.
Things that make me feel great about my sway:
I guess my diet - although not perfect, is a lot more 'girly' with this conception.
I am also hoping the Clomid is a positive for my sway.
Things that make me nervous about my sway:
Stress.. I found out I had three mature eggs prior to ovulation (Clomid monitoring), and I freaked! DH calmed me down, but I though about it constantly..
Things worth mentioning:
What a journey!
I was determined not to test early to avoid disappointment, but felt sick at 10DPO, so I tested the next day - 11DPO - and got a BFP!
I never imagined it would take this long to conceive. After 6 months I decided to see a Fertility Specialist. It was determined after tests that I had PCOS and was likely not ovulating very well. I then decided to change my strict sway into something more relaxed, and not worry about 'timing'. I stopped using Replens/Rephresh/Acigel. DH stopped LR.
I merged the IG/LE diets so I ate a few more vege's, but ate much less meat/fish. I ate less overall.
The 2WW was so tough, I did cheat, but not majorly. I lost weight, although already thin.
I conceived on my first Clomid cycle. I was monitored and know I had three mature eggs prior to ovulation, so am a little nervous about that!
For those who are interested in moon signs and Biorythym's - I ovulated in a Waning crescent phase, moon sign = Virgo, Biorythym's = strong girl. I could not help checking these, but never intended on skipping a cycle if moon/bio's looked 'boyish'.
I can't tell you how happy I am to have finally conceived, and totally relieved to stop this dieting! I am really enjoying a healthy, nutritious, varied diet now.
Thank you Atomic Sagebrush and Tamara for your generous time & support.
Atomic, you are truly amazing!
Thanks to all the wonderful GD and IG ladies I have 'met' along the way - impossible without you! I look forward to staying in touch.
Good luck to everyone TTC their dream gender!

Hey Mum23 - I took a pathetic 25 mg from CD 3 - 7.
I was worried that such a low dose would do absolutely nothing, and considered ignoring the specialist directions and take 50 mg instead.. I am glad that I did follow directions after finding out I released 3 eggs! What a light weight eh?!

What is your plan for this cycle? Best of luck! XX

Congrats again on the BFP I am so happy for you. How have you been feeling. When will you have your first scan. Any feelings about more than one baby?

Hi LMO!
Yay! I am missing you : ( Definitely stay in contact. You have been a GD member for a while : )
I am good, a little tired at times, but I think with the amount of food I am consuming I have extra energy, lol.
I have had two blood tests to check HCG. The first was quite high, and the second was in the normal range (HCG 1000 at 17 DPO). I'm no expert, so I quizzed the nurse - she said that it would probably indicate one baby.. She did say that the confirmation would be better at my early scan which the Fertility Specialist is dong at 6-7 wks.. I would be happy with one or two : )

How are you feeling with everything?
What is your plan now?

Hi Maple, good to hear things are well. So exciting for your 6-7 week scan, good luck. I bet it is nice to be eating what ever you want. I am doing well. Felt pretty down after last BFN but now CD7 so nearly time to try again. This month just going for lots of BDing. I really want a BFP this month. Not sure I am cope for many more months plus my DH is pretty sure he only wants to try till December. I tried to push him last night for another few months and he wasn't keen at all. Anyway I am feeling this will be my month with lots of BDing..... I hope so so much....
Take care and I look forward to hearing your updates. xx

Great you are making more attempts, let's hope it does the trick this month! Fingers crossed for that BFP..
It is really hard as the months pass, not ideal that DH has given you a deadline either.. Swaying is fairly hard on a relationship.. My DH lost it many times about the diet etc.. He was over it all.
Glad you feel positive about this cycle, can't wait to hear your good news! XX

My plan is days 3-7 or 4-8 i might do 4-8 as its actually probably more likely 3-7 as AF arrived midway through the day and then just DTD when ever we can around and through ovulation. DH will hopefully take LR but only 2 tabs a day as he always forgets the lunch time one. I will be on diet and BA 3 times a week. Other than that its in gods hands.
Congratulations again

Hi Charlie!

Thank you!! Super relieved and happy! I will be enormous soon, the amount of eating I am doing.. Yikes.

Great you are on here also! Who knows what is going on with IG. The site is not maintained well, which is a shame for those who use it. GD is a very reliable site, and the moderator support is fantastic, not to mention the GD girls : ) I have been on both during my sway..

Best of luck for this cycle Charlie, fingers crossed for you!! XX

I agree with this! Im Thinking that maybe they're so early that they appeared in the same sac, at least that would be a lot less stressful pregnancy.

Thank you - I too am surprised they are identical!
I am not an expert so only going on what the u/s tech said. They share the same sac - would it be possible not to be identical?
Honest, any thoughts appreciated!

No if they're sharing the same sac they would have to be identical. Here's some info on identical twins in the same sac. Monoamniotic twins - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monoamniotic_twins)

So sorry, Maple - I'm just seeing this now. I haven't been on these message boards much lately bc I've been so sick. :sigh:

Anyway, the only book I've read so far on twins is the infamous When You're Expecting Twins, Triplets, or Quads by Dr. Barbara Luke. It's a really good book (I think I'm going to go back and read it all over again soon). However, I feel the nutrition requirements in her book were difficult to follow, so I just do the best I can.
