When researching OPKs, I found that there is already a lot of extremely well-written and easy to understand info on OPKs out there. Rather than totally reinvent the wheel, here are some links that will help with OPKs.

http://www.early-pregnancy-tests.com/fertile.html (FAQ)
http://www.early-pregnancy-tests.com/ovulation-predictor-tests.html (user guides)
http://www.early-pregnancy-tests.com/results.html (how do OPKs work)
http://www.early-pregnancy-tests.com/predictor-kits.html (reading results)
http://www.early-pregnancy-tests.com/calendar.html (when to start using OPKs)
http://www.early-pregnancy-tests.com/positiveresults.html (more q and A about OPKs)

http://www.fertilityfriend.com/Faqs/Ovulation-Prediction-Kits--OPKs--.html (FAQ and how to)
http://www.fertilityfriend.com/Faqs/Ovulation-with-no-positive-OPK.html (can you o without seeing a positive OPK?)
http://www.fertilityfriend.com/Faqs/Positive-OPK-the-same-day-as-ovulation.html (how long after a positive will I ovulate?)
http://www.fertilityfriend.com/Faqs/Devices-to-detect-ovulation.html (advantages of using OPKs)

There is also excellent and clear info on the TCYOF site but to be honest, it has SO MANY ADS that even though I have the highest speed internet available it still takes too darn long to load up.

Also, if you Google OPKs on the "image" setting, you will get TONS of great pics to look over so you will learn what you're looking for.

Sites where you can buy OPKs and other equipment for TTC -

Most of us do just get them off of Amazon.com, if you get the ones from "Formosa Medical" they are much higher quality.

Also, I wrote a book on using OPK for swaying and it will answer most questions people have. (Plus the money goes to allowing me to do this as my full time job instead of having to work outside the home - thank you!)

Great article! Can I add that I use the strips from early prego tests.com, and I just recently purchased the super cheap little sample cup that they sell on that site for less than a buck, and it has made testing SO MUCH EASIER for 3 reasons: it catches the pee without it spraying on your hands, it is little and very easy to wash, and it has a little stand for the stick so you just set the stick in there and let it go. You know if I take the time to write about a cheap pee cup that it's worth the 75 cents!

Just wanted to note that peeonastick is gone now :(

So sad, I loved that site!

AND, also wanted to note, that this cycle I O'd 72 hours after first +OPK. Confirmed by u/s. Wish I would have gone for the bonus round this month ;)

I know! :( I was hoping it would come back, a couple people told me it disappeared a few times before and then reappeared but it's been too long now. I have my OPK for swayers book coming very soon so hopefully this whole thread will be rendered obsolete and I will delete it. :)

lthats great thank you I will get a read on :)

With regarding timing? Does that have an impact? I have read a lot about Shettles & that says to BD a few days before OV?

Timing doesn't sway. It doesn't work and most of us on here, myself included, have 2-3-4 or more timing opposites. I have 4! Full case against timing is here: http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-general-discussion/7691-trouble-timing.html

That having been said if you want to do it, you can aim for a 2 or 3 day cutoff if your cycle is regular. Just BD one time 2 or 3 days before you have sex. But that having been said, even BD at positive OPK really is a bit of a cutoff, since you get your OPK about 36 hours on average before you ovulate.

Here's a monster of a thread that has some useful info in it about how many attempts to have and when to have them, plus adding things like frequency patterns to that. :)

Haha it would help if I actually posted the link to this monster thread. :) (PS - the best, newest info is in the last post in the essay so if you just want to cut to the chase scroll down a few posts to the part titled "but wait there's more") http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-general-discussion/9736-how-many-attempts-should-i-do-when-pink-blue.html

Hello, I have now 4 days positive opks. The line is as dark as the controlline. Is this ok? Temperature went up... Now cd 18, first positive at CD 15. Temperature higher than before since cd 16.

Yes, this happens fairly regularly. I can't tell you when you have or will ovulate in correlation to the OPK; most will ovulate an average of 36 hours after first positive but it does not always work out that way! I would probalby have you start up with e4d after this point to be sure you're in with regular attempts.
