My day

Ate at 2

White flat bread-100 calories
Cucumber slices
Alphapha sprouts

Ate at 630

Strawberry smoothie (more like frozen yogurt)
Frozen strawberries - 70 cal
3 table spoons of milk

2 white flat breads- 200 cal
Rice- 300
Bean sprouts

2 pep teas
1 diet coke
1 bottle of water

And if I should what should I have.... Should I just eat more at my last meal to avoid snacking tho?

Thank you :)

Can I have something good like chips? Low sodium?

My understanding is at max 3 meals, better if its 2 and no snacking. So yes up your intake of calories at each of this meals, to 1500-1800 a day.

If you need eat more and still need empty cals, things like full sugar pop/soda or a glass of wine are allowed from what I've read. Since they have no protein, sodium or fat, they consider them 'empty' cals.

Don't have chips! Bad for girl diet even if low salt they are full of fat.

I think more about getting calories in at each meal, than snacking, in order to keep blood sugar low most of the time.
Can you eat more plain white rice at meals? Or pasta (but that will add to protein)
Sweets - skittles or meringue nests - basically sugary foods which don't have protein or fat in them. So you need pure sugar after a meal.
Sure Atomic will come on with more ideas ...

No, don't snack, but you can add in a third meal. Also add in more empty cals and also sources of fat. (you are not getting anywhere near enough food, it looks to me.) Diets of rice and bean sprouts are not allowed.

1st meal - mayo on the bread for 100 cals or so and a pop. Also you could have cheese or hummus

2nd meal - was there actually yogurt in this smoothie or what?? toss in a yogurt, even a full fat yogurt and some sugar.

mayo on the bread

add butter to the rice or some sort of sauce and I would like to see you eating A LOT more vegetables at this meal for your potassium. You could saute some veggies in oil and have with sauce on your rice. :agree:

You can have a whole nother meal if you want to - 2 or 3 meals are both equally good.

switch out the diet coke for regular if you want to

I also seriously doubt you are getting enough potassium, you need 2500-3500 mg a day for health. Also you need at minimum 700-1000 mg sodium.

How much protein are you geting??

I agree with all this but you CAN have chips if you like them, yes, they do have some fat but you have 25-60 g of fat to play with if you want. Adding a little fat helps to preserve ovulation and also adds cals when you need some :)

thats the problem im dealing with cause normally i dont eat viggies cause i dont like them just potatoes and raw carrots... i like kidney beans in chilli but that would be too high in protien... meat is usually my protien intake but im trying to only eat meat once or twice a week... potassium i think i have been low on most days of my life i just dont like the foods too much but i will maybe get some spinich or kale to add to my meals..

what are the absolute do not touch foods?

i am having a difficult time not snacking late at night but i guess that will be fixed by adding more calories to my meals.

thanks so much for the advice i appreciate it

Download or sign up to the website or phone app called myfitnesspal, it will help track your intake as it sounds like there is a bit of guessing going on and that can be detrimental to a sway. Also, it takes the stress out of meal planning as you can trial adding some foods in then remove them if your daily totals are not right.

It does look like you aren't eating enough calories or nutrients to ensure you ovulate so don't let it get out of control just look at reducing not completely stopping food!

You are doing well, the diet is a constant learning process for me and for everyone on here, so don't feel you 'failed' because we are giving you tips, I am still learning even 3 months in!

Maybe if you approach it more like portion control than low nutrients. Because portion control / lower calories per day (1500-1800) will make you loose weight, and will be lower nutrient anyway, especially without vitamin supplements.

Atomic, am I eating to healthy? I am worried that I get too many nutritions with all these healthy vegetables, I am so not used to eat this way.
now I am thinking of adding candies to that base, to bring up the numbers???

And could you please tell me which candies I can add? I read skittles, are they low in Potassium? Could not find out. I keep seeing that a lot of people are eating things like muffins etc? Is cake low in potassium? I am so confused. And is it ok for me to eat candies etc if I am taking metformin? I always ate candies since I figured that metformin puts my insulin back to normal. So I can eat what everybody else eats on the LE Diet?

That's why I am asking! I cannot find things to add without too much protein that only contain fat. I don't even know which fat is the one I should look for, the good or the bad, animal or plant based.

I totally agree! The portion control does a lot of the heavy lifting for you on nutrients...as long as you're eating less cals and have dropped prenatals, you are eating less nutrients by default.

First of all, DO NOT count protein, cals, or fat in low carb veg. like zucchini. They are free.

AMY, you are not eating healthy ENOUGH. You need more calories, more protein, more fat, more sodium - doing good on potassium though!!! do NOT get hung up on the nutrients, you'd have to eat a mountain of broccoli before you could ever get anywhere near the level of nutrients in a burger and fries. Vegetables are allowed, it's just that when you have a choice between a high nutrient veg and a lower nutrient one, may as well pick the lower nutrient one.

Not sure if you've seen this yet, I just posted a couple days ago. LE Diet short version.

Yes it's perfect.

Butter and mayonnaise are also good sources of both cals and fat.

PROTEIN IS 40-50 G.

Someone has been going around telling people 30-40. It has to be coming from IG because it isn't coming from me. 40-50 g of protein is the lowest safe protein intake for a woman of childbearing years, no one go below 40 g.

It doesn't matter, whatever works. Yes, it's ~best~ to stick to transfats like in margarine BUT I think you need to eat what you like above all else. I got my girl eating butter and mayo for my fats.

Thank you atomic, today I added more greek yoghurt to the meal with 0.1 fat. So that gave me 10 more protein. I also had 2 chocolat candy bar with 10 fat, I am now in the limits I think. But do you think spelt is fine? Wondering if I should stay with white noodles. I just thought I read somewhere that spelt raises your bloddsugar very slowly and I though that might be better, but then again it has more nutritions. I am surprised that you say I should not count the vegetables. they really give a good amount of protein! I still haven't found any cheese with less salt in it. Very difficult. Especialy parmesan has tons of it. So I stay with greek yoghurt. I decided not to drink any milk because I read that raises bloodsugar.
I feel cold the entire day, I wonder if that has to do with the diet. But great thing is I don't feel hungry at all. But cannot use the lo either... strange thing what this diet does to me...

I'm doing a lot better with the hunger but last night I was getting dizzy from not eating meat so I had chicken but still stayed on track with my protein I did a lot better with potassium today and yesterday too I think I'm getting better and I am now down three pounds :)

hey as pp, eat more!

I use myfitness pal and keep in stock mentos (fat/gelitine free sweets) these are cals only no protien no fat, fat free yog so virtually no cal and no fat but protien and chocolate virtually just fat, I track for my two meals and have a third snack if i need to made up of whatever i've not made target on.

i find this is the easiest way to ensure i'm getting everything i need for some reason some days i just havn't eaten enough of something!

I wish I could eat more without adding too many calories. I am still struggeling to get enough Protein or mainly Fat in my diet. Since I am not very active all the calculators on the internet tell me my limit is 1050 kcal... well this is very hard to do and get enough fat. I can only get 15 g on fat which gives me terrible constipation. But if I eat more fat I go higher in kcal.
All the fat has so many calories and I will go much higher. I am already down to 100, but I think this must be only water because my arms look still fat and I see my muscles. Gotta carry the boys daily same as grocery buys so what can I do.

Potassium is not always listed on food labels or in the apps, so you are often getting more than you realize (don't count on that for LE Diet, but just in yoru normal day to day life.)

Regardless of what any calculator on the Internet says, the safe lower limit of calories is 1200 and 1500 is better. This is based on the suggestions of reproductive endocrinologists. We are not doing this solely for losing the max amount of weight to look good in a bathing suit, we need to be able to have a healthy pg at the end of it and so the general online calculators are not appropriate for our purposes.

If you weigh 100 lbs STOP losing weight. You ahve no need to lose any weight at all. Just hold steady where you are at.

meeks32
November 11th, 2012, 04:52 PM
Also, 1500 is safer in case you don't conceive this month, if you have to loose or maintain weight for a few Nash, and started low, you need to loose as slowly as possible, so that you still have some to loose next month if it doesn't all work out. It's a balance between loosing to sway, and not loosing too much, or you stop ovulating and it's all for nothing.

If you hit your 18 bmi try and maintain, rather than loose, so 1500-1800 cals.

Check out the meal suggestions thread (with pics)

Also download myfitnesspal app or visit website, its better than the other ones.

Pay attention to atomic's percentages of sodium/fat/protein, rather than the actual end number, because the number you are going for will differ depending on how much your target daily total calories is...
