I tested yesterday morning and got a strong pos then a lighter line in the evening so I assumed O had passed. Well now this morning I got another pos that is super dark- like twice as dark as the control line. Anyone else had a super dark pos and what does this mean?

I wish I could help, I have had trouble reading the OPK too. Mine have all had a faint line and I've had one strong line but then more faint lines, I wish they could be all or nothing. Trying to figure out how faint or dark it is can be frustrating!! Sorry I am no help, I am interested in what others may say, because maybe it could shed some light on how to read the silly things!

With OPK's only your first +OPK counts. So your countdown to Ov, 12-36 hours, would start from yesterday morning's +OPK. Any positive ones after are irrelevant as it can take awhile for the LH hormones to pass through your system, so don't read into that.
Having a lighter one in between two positives is a little odd, I agree, but likely that is due more to hydration issues and your pee sample being diluted then any hormone reduction. Or a wonky test!

Thanks for the info. Now I'm thinking what I drank yesterday and can't remember:)

This might be a little late, but I just bought an OPK to verify my timing. Anyways, mine says it's only positive if the second line is just as dark or darker than the test line. It's negative if the second line is missing or lighter than the test line. Don't know which test you are using. Also, I read they are most accurate when taken in the afternoon and shouldn't be taken in the early morning (opposite of pregnancy tests). Don't know if this helps shed any light??

doesn't mean anything, just that there was a little more HCG in your urine the second time you tested.
You will ovulate 8-48 hours after FIRST positive OPK, regardless of whether you get darker ones later on.

LOL I was so confused by this because this person already got pg!! But apparently I had never answered the post so it appeared new! :) Glad I got a chance to chime it, albeit a little late.

I like keeping old threads going so every single one is very informative for future readers!! Not sure why I never replied to this one, so glad I had the opportunity!! :)
Forums are confusing at first, almost like walking into a new school and you don't know where any classes are and it's like everyone knows everyone already, but after a couple days it all becomes second nature! :)
