Not sure if anyone is online right now. Had positive OPK about 5:30 tonight (confirmed after I went out and got a digital smiley face one to be sure). I didn't test in the a.m. as i wanted cuz I forgot my OPK at home. I was nauseous this morning so I think I would've had a positive OPK in the a.m. DH is on his way home (yes it's late) and wants to try but my CM isn't good enough. Do you still think I could get pregnant tonight with a boy? I know timing is one of those debated topics. Last time we DTD was Saturday night so it's like 3 day abstain

Personally, if my cm was not up to scratch I would not bd... BUT it all depends how serious you want to be about it all =)

We are very serious but I also read in this thread that maybe a negative OPK (-ve if that means negative OPK) is when you should DTD? I don't want to risk missing this window this month. It's so much info and DH has decided to just do it in the a.m. which s/b about 24 hrs. I think. I am taking Mucinex and doing the egg whites, so I guess we'll just go for it. Timing is not supposed to be the most important thing in a sway and we are pretty close. IF we get up in the a.m. I guess we'll just go for it. :)

What about leaving it till the morning you may have more CM then?

April 27th, 2011, 03:46 AM
I think that's the current plan "IF" we get up that early. We set the alarms but then again I'm up at 12:45 at night. :) We'll see. I'm flying a little blind since my fertility scope broke and due to cycle changes after I gave birth to DS#2 I haven't been able to be sure of anything w/ my cycle. I'm not willing to wait another month so we'll see. Thanks.

Guys, I'm out again http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-sad011.gif (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php) I'm so sad atm, or better, I'm in denial. I was so sure this was my month....
You may call me paranoid, but I think DH didn't even made a deposit on THE day ( April 17th), because like 20 min after we were done, dd2 called for some water ( middle of the night:sigh:), and nothing went out, not a bit, which is very strange.
IDK how to ask him if he made a deposit without starting fight
I'm skipping my May-sway, February baby is just beyond inconvenient for me ( yeah right, I wish...) so all my positive energy is with you guys, let's here more BFPs!!!!:ttcboy:
It's very hard not having DH on board, he keeps repeating he is satisfied with our 2 girls and he feels we are done. I'm soooo not done.
I mean, what's going on? DD 1 was 'non-fertile' day, DD 2 was 1st attempt success, am I THAT old? Feel free to call me 'granny ZB'
Oh, I forgot to say, my usual preAF spotting has started, and no, it's not implantation  My AF is due May 1st or 2nd the latest. http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-angry018.gif (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php)
OK, I feel better already

princessap do you get only 1 day of + OPK or more? You test 2 times/ day? If only 1 day of +OPK I would do it tomorrow morning. If 2 days I would do it tomorrow night. HTH:luck:
I agree with this also!

Oh Zivic, I am so sorry, it is so disheartening, I know. Well, about the DH....can you tell if he has an orgasm? Kwim? It would seem that something would come out if he did. Hopefully he wasn't faking because he doesn't want another....that is very unfair to you. I guess that's why I ask if you can tell. Just take a breather month and rejuvenate yourself, maybe have some talks with DH about the fact that you definitely want another one and hopefully you will feel like he is more on board. I'm sorry, hun, I know it is so frustrating.

iluvmyman, FX this morning you had a great attempt You don't have to wait for the OPK to go negative; really, using OPK's is something that is most helpful if you can have a couple practice cycles to get your O down, but I know you really didn't want to wait. I think your safest bet is DTD 12-24 hours after that 1st +OPK. Keep us posted!
ZB I am so sorry to hear you're out :-( How many months have you tried now? I totally get skipping months due to inconvenient birthdays... that's why I'm planning to wait til fall, though I keep thinking we ought to just do it now. I'm bummed for you that DH isn't on board still! FX he comes around.

I always just went for it the night of the first + opks (and then we did it the next night, but I am more on the sperm meet egg program since I'm older). I am of the opinion that timing doesn't matter, and you seem to be doing a full out sway with all the other stuff, so I say go for it when you feel its a good time. I don't know if your cm is affected by supps and mucinex, but I don't pay attention because mine is messed up from that stuff so I just go by when my body says I am about to O and then use the replacement cm (ew/preseed) and don't worry about it. GL!

Thank Begonia, you've been a real support. After all this and he's been SO supportive I wish we'd just wait till tonight. I agree on the too early. Hopefully the egg whites and mucinex will make it OK. I'm just did the BS douche and am waiting an hour before we DTD and DH is off to get his coffee and just took a 5 hr energy so I'll just pray now since I couldn't talk him out of it. So stupid for playing computer games. You'd think my 35 year old husband was 19!

I test the PH of my 3 egg whites, good for me for planning ahead, right? 1st egg, PH below an 9. 2nd egg, I dropped the yolk in and the 3rd egg was at a 9 so I decided to use a pinch of BS to raise it. Which lowered more and more w/ every pinch. Darn it all! Trying to warm another in my hand asap! :)

Did you do EGS/MSU for your baby(ies)?

I didn't know that. I'm reconsidering using eggwhites next time, and I would def like to lower their pH just in case it's abobe 9 ( I have pH test strips, so my measurements are not very accurate)
Would you say that's safe, to add a pinch of BS to eggwhites?

Well here I sit 6dpo and no symptoms, which is good, I never had 2ww symptoms with my real pregnancies. I'm sure it'll be another bfn, I'm not losing hope just being realistic. I'm not expecting much till my cycles even out.
Tomorrow is my due date, feeling really ok about it atm. I can't decide if I'll hang out round the house doing my normal things or if I'll take my youngest (the others are in school) to the zoo, park, lunch, something like that.

Jen I kind of can't believe you are already 6DPO! I am sure it hasn't felt that fast for you. Will you test or just wait for AF .. and hopefully she won't show, FX! Love hearing that you and DH like having 3 so much! It's funny but I actually think with DD2's personality we NEED a 3rd to balance things out, LOL. Anyhow ... I hope tomorrow is a good day in spite of the significance.
For all those whose DH's haven't come around, I can identify ... we had our 8th anniversary yesterday and were laughing about how at our 7th anniversary dinner DH was like, NO WAY am I having more kids. We are DONE. He was absolute. And here we are one year later and he's more on board than I am some days! SO ... the change of heart can happen, and I hope it happens for your men! Soon!
Princess FX for a good attempt tonight!!!! Glad you've got the EWCM ... that is like, 1000% more important than the moon sign IMO!

I always just went for it the night of the first + opks (and then we did it the next night, but I am more on the sperm meet egg program since I'm older). Thank you Lola! I sure tried to do a full out sway but I've not everything right all the time...at all :) but I've tried really hard. I had trouble with a couple of the last minute things like, How do I get the egg white into the hoo haa. I sure hope enough made it in after pouring it out of a glass bowl. and a couple other things too like the EW nonsense and I ended up using EW like 8.93 instead of 9.
Anyway, thanks for making me feel better about the BD time. I sure hope I don't have to do this again but if I do I'll go into it w/ a lot more knowledge and experience.
Thanks all!

Sperm's heads exploding??? That doesn't sound good. :) Wow, I sure hope that's not the case but might be good info going forward. I didn't use the EW mixed w/ BS since it lowered the PH, I used another EW. I went off the info from "another" forums TTC Boy E-Book and there was no mention of that and no warnings. Plus, I've seen people's sway attempts that have used EW's and BS Finger or Douche and that would be mixing them, right? Thanks for checking on this for me.

I'm planning to beg my midwife to see me as close to 13 wks as possible and do a quick u/s, I'm hoping with our 10yr history she'll humor me. I'm just hoping I'll relax before the baby crowns.
Are you still waiting for the u/s or has a natural mc begun?

FX to all the ladies in the 2ww.
I'm debating testing tomorrow at 7dpo. I know it's still super early but getting a bfp would really make my day and I know a bfn couldn't make it worse. I never give up on the bfp till af actually arrives so I always pretty much convince myself it's still just too early lol

I ordered a bunch of pregnancy tests why? because I'm a poas addict & poas pusher!!! I want you to poas but at the same time no because I don't want you to be upset while you already know is super early, but still don't want you to be upset on your due date hun, good luck on whatever you decide this is tough one :worry: lol.

BS has pH 8 so it ll lower the 9 pH egg s pH.
I realize what I did now. Darn being rushed. You are right and my confusion was that i was just reading how to raise the PH of Pre-Seed and got confused in the rush of getting eggs together. That was a great PH EW and I ended up using a PH EW of 8.93 and I'm pretty stressed I just swayed pink.

Ladies, How much folic acid are you taking? I'm taking 4 800 mcg folate tablets per day. That's what I used to take before the m/c. Plus now, I take a prenatal which has 800mcg of folic acid so that =5.
BTW- how much b12 I should take? Right now I'm taking one 250mcg a day.

Hey Guys! I am jumping back in- it has been a busy week for me!
So, I am on Day 10 of my cycle, still - opk's and very watery cm.
Did using Robitussin make your ewcm too watery- and not stretchy? For some reason I am afraid that it will only be watery- because it is working.
And also- how do you time the BD with having some abstinence days? I am finding this difficult since this is my first cycle after breastfeeding so I predict I will probably ovulate sooner like I did before I was pregnant with DD. I was ovulated cd17 while breastfeeding.

I know! That is what I distincly remember Tamara telling me on IG, and I wondered the same thing.....if you are doing a bsf and then using ew, isn't that doing the same thing? To be honest, I did the bsf and ew for the first 4 months of ttc, and bfns. The 5th month I didn't do bsf, and still bfn with ew. When I dropped the ew, I got pg 2 months in a row. I'll ask Atomic in the ew forum.

And also- how do you time the BD with having some abstinence days? .
Hey Spicy....YES my cm is not ew-ish at all when I take mucinex, but I did take it both months I got pg, so I will do it again. And with the abstinence timing, it is a HUGE PAIN IN THE A$$ to time it, unless you are one of those lucky ladies who ovulates on the same day each month like clockwork. I freaked, and I mean freaked!!!! about it for about 5 months of ttc with no good results. I'd be so stressed just trying to get it to a perfect 4 day abstinence that I was literally driving myself crazy. Some months, I would O a day late, and it would be 5 days, and I'd freak and wonder if I should have dtd earlier, but then just dtd when I was ovulating and had to try to not worry about my DH's sperm count! I think trying to time this and worrying about it is one of the top most stressful things when swaying.
So, this is what we do now: we just do it 48 hours apart, and don't worry about it. I got pg twice so far this way. I honestly don't worry about it swaying girl so much because I believe that diet and hormone levels and other stuff sways way more than timing. I mean, I would not do it twice a day, I think that would definitely lower counts. But, I will tell you, I have scoured fertility friend charts and we have had lots of discussions about this in the past 9 months online about it....most women on FF dtd several days in a row, all on O day, and some with dtd O-2 (2 days before O), then again on O day, so 48 hours apart. If you can manage to time it so that you have a 2-4 day abstinence, you have done an excellent job. But, if your O is so erratic, just take lots of opks and look for a fade-in pattern so you can see when you are getting close.

If I get pg again, I will insist that I have bloodwork done immediately and an u/s done at 5-6 weeks, then another at 8-9 weeks. I think I can demand that at this point with 2 in a row!
I have started a natural m/c, been a couple days now, but nothing very heavy until this morning, when I felt like I was in labor, except with a tiny uterus instead of a huge one full of a baby. It was weird, but still VERY painful....I'm talking having to breathe through them painful! Did you have that or just get whisked away and put under?

I'm so glad things are ending on their own, it's so much easier then having procedures while being devastated. With the last m/c I actually had no pain, nurses think I was in shock, physical shock not emotional. My first m/c the pain was excruciating, I was downing ibuprofen 800. Luckily it will only last a day or two, seriously get your hands on something strong and you'll be fine :)

So here I sit in the 2WW now!!! I feel really good about our attempt last night...it was 4 days of DH abstinence which was perfect timing wise....I had tons of EWCM which I havent been getting, I feel really great about it and trying to keep positive thoughts....it was the exact same attempt as when we conceived our son who we lost, everything was the same regarding timing, position etc. I even had an appt in the same town as my OB the day we conceived our loss and I was there yesterday too having an appt with my OB...crazy! I am hoping it is a sign from my little one above that he wants us to have a baby...how nice would it be if it happened today on my birthday!!
I agree with everyone else too about worrying when pregnant....once I get that BFP I am sure I will worry until I hold the little one in my arms...I too went to bed happy at 14 weeks and the next day at a routine appt my life changed in an instant....no one should have to go through the things we have gone through on this board but thankfully we have each other

You are right, no one should have to deal with losing a baby, it is really heartwrenching and makes you feel so defective and empty. Man, when I had my girls back in my 20s, I will like the poster child for ignorance is bliss....I just didn't worry about m/c, even though I had a chemical at 4.5 weeks right before I conceived my oldest, I just didn't worry about anything except getting food down. It didn't occur to me that the baby could die. I guess I didn't know as many horror stories as I do now at 35. Recurrent m/c just make you jaded. I've been reading all sorts of thread on other forums when I googled "miscarriage" about ladies who went on to have healthy babies. It's giving me some hope to read these stories.

Lola- I am sorry to hear about your losses. I hope that you get your blue baby soon! Thanks for your response. I use a diaphragm to collect cm and there is a bit of watery, loose ewcm, with some stretch but only because I went fishing for it. I am going to have DH empty tonight- I am happy with 48 hours- but aiming for 3-4 days. I would rather the guys be fresh than too old. If he empties tonight- then we have about 6 days and hopefully we will O before then.
I am loving the robitussin though- I had DH try it and it was really runny- after only one day- so I will have him take it the day of smiley. When we conceived DD, we dtd the 9 days before o date (i kept getting watery cm, but wasn't using OPKs), so at least his sperm count is good. I think she was the last sperm left.

Flava - I'm so glad you liked it! I couldn't do the gelatin drink it had far too much texture lol
ELP - really no gelatin? I can get 32 packets for not quite $6 (thats less then 4 pounds) You ladies make me want to start a GD export business. Gelatin, guaifenesin, it all ships at rock bottom prices
Well my due date came and went and amazingly today I feel great. I now have only positive in my future. On the other hand I've got to slow the expansion of my butt. I love the gd food philosophy but holy crap, time to add a bit more exercise. What are all you ladies doing to keep your buttons from popping?
So glad you went ok xoxox

That's a good point. Maybe that's why you aren't supposed to do both? I've never read it s/b either BS or EW.
Hopefully Atomic will help out with this.

Thanks Lola!

I agree with everyone else too about worrying when pregnant....once I get that BFP I am sure I will worry until I hold the little one in my arms...I too went to bed happy at 14 weeks and the next day at a routine appt my life changed in an instant....no one should have to go through the things we have gone through on this board but thankfully we have each other
I hope it's OK I jumped in.
My son died unexpectedly hours after he was born. I'd never even miscarried before and neither of my 2 sisters or mother either. I really took for granted that nothing would happen. it's been 18 weeks and no autopsy results. There is just no way of getting around me being worried for the 1st year I think. Sucks. I stressed my whole pregnancy being so scared to have another child and regret it. I don't think I'll stress less this time, just differently. I just want to enjoy it if I am able to get pregnant again. I guess there's just nothing I can do about it. :sigh:
I hurt for everyone who has lost a baby and I'm always crying a little when I read your posts. You pass these milestones like 12 weeks and think your in the clear. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Iluvmyman...I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your son. Tears filled my eyes reading your post. I am so sorry to hear what you have gone through and pray you get some answers soon. Thank you and same for you if you need to chat or vent. A friendish of mine lost a daughter 2 weeks before due and autopsy came back with nothing. In fact, we have a family member that had the same experience, but she really struggles with not knowing and hasn't been able to keep a pregnancy yet. I have 3 healthy children and am sooo thankful. I sure would like to know if there is something we need to be careful of if we get prego again though. Losing children is sooo tough at any time! It's been really sad but very comforting to know that I'm not the only one who's lost a child. It's a sucky club to be apart of but the support has been amazing.

I'm so sorry for your losses but so glad you found each other and support each other. That is so important. I guess it gets to be less raw I would say, but I think about him everyday as I'm sure you both do as well.
I had a necklace made w/ his pic on it and we made a shadow box w/ his hat, onsie, and couple other items so it's nice to keep him present and talked about. My other children won't forget either so that's a blessing.
I miss him and it sucks. I sure pray we can have another child that's healthy. That's what it all comes down to and I certainly won't take one second of it for granted again. :) He's with my brother in heaven and I know I'll see him again one day. He won't be my little baby anymore but will be glad to spend eternity with him.
