I never had the courage to do that. Even after I was pregnant with DS.

No a lot of women do that!! When I wad trying for my first little girl I used the excuse of the OWT's of the girl clothes under the bed and bought a few things! :). A few clothes, baby booties, and stuffed animal. It was fun! :)

Oh aren't we all by the end of the day!??
I'm so tempted. I saw this adorable coat the other day and I just HAD to own it. But I couldn't bring myself to buy it and I knew OH would kill me (or send me to the nearest asylum!). The Christmas range this year is absolutely to die for as well - little scotch pattern dresses with little scottie dogs iiiih!

I actually pulled all my girl stuff out earlier to look at it. I have a LOT.:shemademe: Enough that if I(WHEN I) have my girl I really probably wouldnt have to buy a single piece of clothing for awhile.

you know what - i had one or two things i brought before ttc when i actually thought one day i may stand a chance at the dream but even then it was on-line.
The odd few times i try to sneak a peak in mamas or papas at the girls clothes i so feel like i don't belong and everyone is looking at me. I'm so sheepish, like i'm sneaking i must look like i'm about to rob the place. Everytime i pluck up the courage to wonder near that direction i keep feeling like someone is going to come and tell me to leave as i am in the wrong aisle

Mrs_P,
I DO have a baby girl, but I still feel like a fraud for shopping in the girl section. It is SO mental! I was looking at Christmas girl dresses longingly one day, and then the thought occured to me...that yes, I could actually buy one! And then I still hesisated...
And Rachel, I did not buy a single piece of anything pink or frilly or girly whatsoever before I found out I was having a DD. I was too paranoid that I'd jinx it. Even as it were, I went shopping the weekend I found out I was having Lillian, there were two other very glamorous looking ladies shopping in the girl section (the kind you know that would just HAVE to have girls....all dressed up and toenails pedicured, etc) and I felt like an ugly cow who didn't belong in the girl clothing section shopping for a daughter! I also had the whole 'what if the ultrasound was wrong?' vibe going too.

You are not alone, I have a plastic box in the basement full of girl clothes that were purchased while pregnant with our first and then our second too. I cannot bear to give them away, I feel that if I did then my dream would actually be over. I too occasionally take a peek in the box and sigh.

I bought one cute girlie outfit that I put under the mattress. I didn't tell DH either. I did sign up for a secret santa thing for a girl just so I could go buy lots of cute girlie things... That little girl got 2 outfits, a pullover, pjs, pink boots, mittens and hat, dolls.... whoa and I don't even know her.
